This has led to many drivers increasing their base fare by 70% across the country.\n\nRates got doubled this Wednesday during peak hours. Many commuters got stranded and waited for many hours. Chennai Airport suffered great because of this. Also the Old Mahabalipuram Road in Koyambedu and the county's Railway Stations. Other taxi services became the only option during this period.",
