It is a food loss diary and using it can ensure total success no matter what your weight loss goal may be.\n\nNever underestimated the power of a food diary. Using it daily will ensure you become much more conscious of your current bad eating habits. Through its use you can identify the cause of your weight problems. \n\nSo what is a food diary?\n\nWell it is simply a small book you carry with you everywhere you go for at least two weeks. After this you can store it some place safe and refer to it three times a day. \n\nSo here is a quick explanation of a food diary:\n\nWeek 1.\nIn your diary on the first page note your current weight. Now for the rest of the week you must make a note of everything you eat during the day. This is why it is so important to carry the small book with you at all times. You must be disciplined in this. Every time you eat anything, even a small piece of meat or a nibble you must enter exactly what you ate and the time at which it was eaten. Then describe your motivations for eating it. Where you really hungry? Was the temptation of it being there too much? Where you feeling lonely or stressed? Take a note of all the feelings that lead you to eat the food.\n\nAt breakfast, lunch and dinner list all the foods you ate, why you ate them and how you felt before, during and after you ate them. Also note every bit of exercise to take during the day. It doesn't matter how small it is just jot it down anyway. So, go to your empty diary entries for week three and pencil in at the same time of day an activity that will relieve your boredom. If you can't think of one then pencil in that you will go for a walk or start to do that odd job you have been putting off for months!\n\nPerhaps you ate the chocolate because it gave you a certain feeling you enjoyed. Look at the feeling. Is there anything else you could do that would make you feel the same or a similar way? There are always alternatives. Jot one down in your diary!\n\nMaybe you notice that the temptation to eat the chocolate was too strong to resist because it was just there. Pencil into your diary, on your shopping day, that you are to buy no chocolate! \n\nNow look at your exercise activities for the previous week. When did you take the car when you could have walked? Could you pencil in an extra 15 minutes walking a day. Divide the 15 minutes into three 5 minute exercises, this way it will not seem like that much of a change. Park the car 5 minutes away from the shop. Walk to a bus stop that is 5 minutes further away. Did you not have enough time? Structure your diary to compensate, even if it means getting up 15 minutes earlier.\n\nIn this way you can use your diary to set out a plan for the coming week. Be strict with yourself and follow your plan. Tick off the things on your diary one by one as you complete them. Pencil in activities that you have always wanted to do. You will find that organising your food intake and exercise routine in this way will have a major knock-on effect on the rest of your life. You are getting organised!\n\nYour food diary is a also great way of tracking your progress. Make sure you note in it all your accomplishments and list all your weight loss achievements. When you reach week 3 you can begin using your diary only 3 times a day - once in the morning to check your schedule for the day. Once after dinner to note your activities during the day and once at night to review your progress that day and structure the same day for the following week.\n\nIt is important to reward yourself every time you succeed at a task that you have put in your diary. As he huddled in his cave with his other cavemen betting twigs while using cards chiseled from rock.  Now there's a challenge!   \n\n \nWhat we do know is that there are two distinct species of poker players that can be seen hanging around the casino which is their natural habitat.  After all a poker player is as natural to the casino as a caveman was to his club. \n\nThe first type of player you can spot is called the loose player.    When most people think of a loose player their mind conjures up images of a sexy Madona with her big red lips and short skirt.  That may be an accurate image of loose but not in the poker world. \n\nLoose poker players are actually very aggressive.  A loose player will take a lot of risks while chasing the big rewards at the end of the rainbow or should we say poker table.  They play a lot of hands and are less likely to fold when challenged.  But there are also two kinds of 'Loose Players.' \n\nThere is the passive loose player who regards pot odds as only a friendly suggestion. They seldom fold and will continue to call regardless of the strength of their hand, or what they believe the strength of their opponents hand is.  They are the perfect example of the eternal optimists believing that at any moment any two cards can make the difference.  What makes them passive is that they will call almost every time, but rarely raise.  They will stay in the game to the bitter end, but do not add that extra element of risk.  Almost as a rule, these folks don't bluff well. Passive-loose players are die a slow financial death at the table but you have to give them an A for their attitude.\n\nThe other type of loose player is an aggressive loose player.  They are the Spiderman of the the poker world.  They are extremely aggressive and see raising as form of worship to the card gods.  These players have no problem raising  before and after the flop, because they attempt to bully the table.  Poker players with this style are very good at winning a lot of small pots but when it comes to the big pots and the big bucks they tend to loose their momentem and peter out.\n\nThe second type of poker player is the tight player who doesn't play a lot of hands and who always folds when circumstances and pot odds are not in their favor.  They do not thrive on a steady diet of raises.  They much prefer to call or fold while picking their fights  to mount a vigorous offensive.  There are also two types of tight players. \n\nA passive tight player is genetically programmed to avoid risk.  Even when the hand is big they are more likely to call then ever think about raising.  You will die of boredom if you are waiting for a passive tight player to bluff.  There's just no bluff in this type of player.  Instead they play a very straightforward game and fold very easily. \n\nAn aggressive tight player is quite the opposite.  This is the Rambo of poker, believing heavility in picking their own poison.  They will fold when the odds are not in their favor.  They will see the flop with a decent hand, and that is when their more aggressive tendencies will emerge. They will go after the money at that point. \n\nIt is a good idea to identify the types of poker players at your table.  Then you can adapt to the style of the table.  You may find yourself morphing into one of these types over time.  But I'm telling you being a chameleon will benefit you a lot more in the long run. Meditation and relaxation are major aspects of Yoga practice. \n\nThere are Yoga teachers who just want to get \"their workout\" done. Beware of Yoga teachers, who are so important, they don't have time for you. \n\n\nSome students love this air of superiority and, unfortunately, some people love abuse. If you want to learn Yoga, you need an open line of communication with your Yoga teacher. \n\n' Assist: Does your teacher care about your form? Will your teacher give you a verbal or physical assist during your Yoga class? Are props encouraged in your Yoga classes? \n\nSome students never have major problems with alignment and some do, but if your teacher doesn't give verbal cues, what does that tell you? \n\n' Listen: Does your Yoga teacher take the time to listen to your feedback? Is your teacher \"in the moment\" with the class? \n\nOnce in a while, there is a Yoga instructor who runs, 'The-it's-all-about-me-show.' You are not going to learn anything from this type of teaching. Beginners will be put at risk, trying to keep up with a seasoned Yoga teacher who doesn't explain anything. \n\n' Modification: Does your Yoga teacher allow modifications and props? If your teacher discourages props, you are in the wrong place. \n\nSome students will need props for life depending upon their range of motion. Just because a teacher can do a posture without props, doesn't mean every student can. \n\nSummary: Stay away from abusive Yoga teachers, and if you are attracted to abuse, there is always professional help. Some students crave 'the stern, but loving parent' types. They will push you harder, but how much pushing do you really need?\n\nRespect is a two way street, and you deserve as much respect as your Yoga teacher does. Let common sense be your guide. Her eyes were watery and her hands shook as she finally signed the sale papers of her house; the very house where her life, her dreams and her hopes had taken root.\n\nShe remembered when, almost ten years to the day, when she, a receptionist in a small company married Michael, who was the Sales Manager in her company. She remembered their wedding day, the vows, her friends, her relations, everyone. Her honeymoon with life had just begun.\n\nIt seemed like only yesterday when Michael had grabbed her in his arms and carried her into this very house. Michael was so charming, so full of fun and energy and there was never a dull moment in Margaret's life.\n\nMargaret remembered the days when she had brought her two sons, David and Jonathan, into their lives. She remembered the joys of raising her two boys and how Michael helped her in their parental duties every step of the way.\n\nMichael was a good husband and a great father. He spared no expense to ensure that his sons went to the best schools, he worked overtime to repay the mortgage on their modest property. He had done everything in his power and ability to keep his family happy. Margaret had never felt the need to work nor did she develop any new life skills.\n\nAnd then, out of the blue, Margaret's life changed forever. Michael was diagnosed with an aggressive type of cancer. The hospital did its best to cure him; they tried chemotherapy, radiation, etc. Nothing helped and within a month, Michael had passed away, leaving his loved ones behind.\n\nAnd that is when Margaret's honeymoon with life really ended.\n\nWhenever the bread winner in any family passes away, everything boils down to money. Michael had not protected himself financially and had neither health insurance nor life cover. He'd always believed that he was too young and it would be something he'd get around to. He didn't leave much behind. The schooling and the living costs ate up his salary and all that was left was the house. The very place where Margaret had lived her life and now she was being forced to sell.\n\nMargaret had to sell the house to pay debts. There were school fees due. Then there was that loan Margaret had taken from a friend to pay the funeral expenses. After that, there were the daily living expenses. And there was no one to provide for the house.\n\nIf only Michael had provided for his family by covering himself with a life insurance policy. Things would have been different today. Margaret would not have to sell the house and move to an unfamiliar area to buy a cheaper property. Nor would her sons be exposed to the harsh realities of life at such a tender age.\n\nHer eyes still wet, Margaret signed the sale deed. She had sold the house for just under '300,000. She would now use half this money to buy a small 2-bedroom semi and use the rest to pay the hospital bills and other debts. What little was left was deposited in the bank.\n\nMargaret was starting life all over again. A life where she needed to work, where she needed to pick up new skills and a life that would never be the same again.\n\nThat was Margaret's tragic story.       "body": "\nToday many people suffer from lower back pain.  This may be a result of poor posture, standing too long at work, or from a previous injury.  For those who deal with back pain, they know that the pain can become unbearable.  Back pain can cause great discomfort and can hinder the enjoyment from a person's life.  Living with chronic pain can take its toll on the emotions as well, and can lead to mood swings and a negative outlook of life.  The best remedy is to avoid injuring the back to begin with.  \n\nOne of the best ways to prevent back pain is to watch your weight.  Being overweight can lead to chronic back pain.  When the abdomen becomes overstretched, the back muscles will be used to counteract the effect of slack abdomen muscles.  By keeping the abdomen toned and not becoming overweight you can save your back a lot of injury in the future.\n\nPregnancy is another cause of back pain.  When a woman is pregnant, the growing baby will stretch out the abdomen and the back will feel the effects.  You may even have a mental image of a pregnant woman standing with her hands held on her lower back.  Some women even have greater amounts of back pain during pregnancy when the baby sits on the Sciatic nerve.  This may result in excruciating and debilitating back pain.  Thankfully, this type of back pain is temporary and will subside once the baby is born.\n\nIt is important that you prevent back injury at the workplace as well as at home.  This may mean that you wear a back brace at work when picking up heavy objects.  Also, you should always bend at your knees when picking something up.  Many people make the mistake of bending at the waist to pick up heavy objects and this can result in strained back muscles, or back injury.\n\nIf you are suffering from back pain then you should schedule an appointment with your chiropractor or family physician.  It is important that you nurture your spine, and if you suspect an injury do not put it off.  You may need to take a course of prescribed treatment so scheduling an appointment is very important.\n\nAromatherapy also offers some great benefits to easing back pain.  Along with Aromatherapy, you can also do some gentle Yoga stretching exercises.  Always check with your chiropractor or doctor before starting any exercise, but Yoga is wonderful for the spine and most likely will be recommended by your doctor.  \n\nYou can take hot oil baths to relieve the pain as well as have hot oil massages on your back.  There are many natural essential oils that will help relieve the pain.  To make a great hot aromatic pain-relieving bath, use 10 drops of Eucalyptus and 10 drops of Peppermint added to your bath.  Soak in the hot bath for at least 20 minutes to achieve the full therapeutic benefits.  If you are pregnant, make sure that you read the safety precautions on the label of any essential oils that you are using.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n",

Every person wants to stay healthy, yes, even people who are obese! But, they just don’t know how to go about being fit. Every year fitness centric New Year resolutions are made and forgotten. Here is how you can start your New Year with the right fitness regime that will suit your needs.\n\nAnswering the Question: Why?\nDifferent people have different requirements. Some people want to lose excess weight, while others just want to maintain their weight. There are still others who just want to keep fit. A few others, suffering from medical conditions, see a fitness regime as one of the ways, which might affect their condition is a manner that is positive and curative. Once you answer the question as to why you want to embark upon a fitness regime, you can effectively work out a program that is good for you and the one that you can adhere to. \n\nObjective of the Fitness Regime\nIt's necessary to have a goal when you start a fitness program. This will help you pace yourself better and if there is an objective in mind, there is a reason not to stop exercising. Having a specific goal, will also help map your progress when you workout and help you decide whether the chosen fitness regime is effective or not. Some companies have online application forms right on their Websites. Here, you can choose the job you wish to apply for, plug your work experience, skills, and education into online fields, then submit this information with a single click of a button.\n\nOnline application forms differ from another and will require different information. For example, some companies ask that you \"copy-and-paste\" your resume and cover letter into two fields. Others ask that applicants fill in multiple fields such as \"work experience,\" \"education,\" etc. Still others ask that you do both-submit your resume and cover letter, and fill in fields that require the same employment-related information.\n\nWhatever type of online application form a company might have, be sure that all your information is posted in one field or another. Don't be afraid to repeat information, especially if the form requests a resume and a separate breakdown of your work history. Your information will be automatically uploaded into an online database, where hiring managers will likely scout for keywords. The more times your keywords come up, the better.\n\nWhile some companies-especially large ones have online application forms, many others simply ask candidates to e-mail their application materials to the appropriate person or to a general employment address like \"[email protected].\" Here, caution is warranted. Be sure to send your resume and cover letter exactly as the hiring manager requests. Some employers prefer that the resume and cover letter be attached as separate documents (usually in a Text Only format or as Microsoft Word documents). Other employers want the cover letter to be in the body of an e-mail, but the resume to be attached separately. Still others prefer that both the resume and the cover letter be pasted into the body of an e-mail. For the latter, be sure that your documents are easy to read. Resumes, which have a rather complicated format, often look messy when they are transplanted into the body of an e-mail. Says recruiter Beth Camp: \"If you e-mail a resume, it has to look as good as a written resume. I would advise sending a resume both as an attachment and in the body of your e-mail.\" This is a good way to sidestep a possible formatting fiasco. Another way is to send your resume and cover letter electronically, then to send hard copies as well.\n\nSome jobseekers opt to purchase domain names and to create their own Websites for the purpose of putting their resumes (and other application materials) online. The advantage of formatting your resume using HTML and making it a static Web page is that anyone can see your resume in its proper format simply by visiting your Website. Thus, instead of mailing or e-mailing your resume every time you want someone to see it, you can simply give the interested parties the right web address and they can find it for themselves. An added bonus of having your resume on a Web page is that you may attract the interest of recruiters and employers whom you hadn't even considered. To make downloading your resume easier, you may want to include on your Website copies of your resume in PDF (portable document format) and Microsoft Word files.\n\nUnfortunately, there are downsides to putting your resume on a Website. One downside is that your information becomes accessible to everyone, even unwanted visitors. For this reason, you should never disclose your home address, social security number, or any other personal information. Another downside is that not all hiring managers will go out of their way to visit your Website. Even if your resume is only a click away, many hiring managers would nevertheless prefer that you mail or e-mail it.\n\nIn terms of how you send your application materials, it would be unwise to go against the explicit wishes of an employer. For example, don't send an attachment when copy-and-pasting is requested. Some companies shun attachments because they fear getting a virus, or because they don't have compatible software, or because they simply don't want to be bothered with the extra step of opening a document.\n\nWhen assembling your application materials and putting them into an e-mail, don't fill in the \"to\" field until you are finished. It's all too easy to accidentally send a half-finished e-mail to a company, thus eliminating your chances of making a decent first impression, and most likely, of getting an interview. If you were asked to copy-and-paste your resume and cover letter, be sure to scan the final outcome at least once for formatting problems, then to use a spell checker a final time.\n\nIf you are attaching your documents, be absolutely sure you are attaching the right versions (i.e., the company-tailored and updated versions) to the employer. Also, be sure that they are labeled in a professional way. One jobseeker laments his decision to save different versions of his resume under headings like \"Resume for Strategic Sourcing Jobs.\" Says the jobseeker: \"I was applying for three different types of positions. But I didn't want every prospective employer to know that. By labeling my outgoing resumes the way I did, I pretty much broadcasted the fact that I didn't have a clear career direction.\" Probably the best strategy for saving your resume is to do so under your name only (example: Simone Piette  resume) or under your name and the name of the company (example: Greenfield resume from Simone Piette). Be sure to say in your e-mail what you have attached, and also, what software you've used. For example, you might say in the body of your e-mail: \"Please see my attached resume in Microsoft Word version 2002.\"\n\nBefore a hiring manager even opens your e-mail, she should know exactly who you are and which job you are applying for. In the \"Subject\" line, write your name, the position name (and job number, if listed), and the contents of your application (example, \"Simone Piette resume and cover letter for Executive Assistant Position\").\n\nIf you've been referred to a position by another person, be sure to \"cc\" (carbon copy) or \"bcc\" (blind carbon copy) your reference when you apply. That is, add that person's e-mail to the \"cc\" or \"bcc\" field, which will enable that person to receive an exact copy of the e-mail you're sending to the hiring manager. The reason you want to \"cc\" or \"bcc\" your referrer is because you want to keep him in the loop. After all, if someone has offered to help you, he should know what stage you're at in the application process.
