| body | The past, does not last. If it ever did, then we would be rid, of the present, with no time to repent. Why our own future, would be a strange creature. We would not recognize, nor be worldly wise, perhaps not even know, the seeds to sow, to seek the tempest, or to allay our unrest. Yesterday's faded today looks jaded, tomorrow's quiver, tips the unborn reciever. But what if we're counting, backwards amidst the gloaming? stories would ravel, lives would swivel, we would be ripped asunder, before we came together. Thus spoke the continuum, from its starry podium, "Occurrence is finite, end looms in twilight, yonder is the happenstance of every circumstance. So face the tempest, with due respect. Blessed is the one who hugs the sun, knowing fully well, that he will burn in hell. Beware of the traveller, and not the glee reveller, for inside every phase, time ceases to race, and things that you fear, will come perilously near." |

| body | A wise man once said “let there be light”. But sadly, there was none. There followed an interregnum of darkness that bent our minds into twisted little pretzels of self doubt and dubious reckoning. But we decided to go through the tunnel of life anyway. We had no queries because the answers never mattered. We were the soldiers of misfortune caught in the stream of goodness that flowed around us but never passed between. Life is a whip slashing through the air with a wicket bite that can be heard, felt and remembered. Decades go by but the mark of the flesh eaters remain. Every waking moment is interred among our memories with the brand of the curling screaming whiplash. Forget the dead of the night for it is a mere blemish compared to the agony of the punisher who seeks out every sensitive membrane in your soul. Even the most frustrated man will marvel at the sheer symmetry of the path that he follows. Every tread of hope is callously mixed up with two trollops of misery that seemingly can be found on every garden shrub along the way. Any decent cook will know that the salt of hopelessness cakes the very shore from which we stand and marvel at the brilliant seas. The pearly waters and the gleaming gently ululating waves are framed on a wall that is slimy and opprobrious. Everyone meets the specter of despair as they peer into the darkness surrounding them. You can feel the pursuit of inevitability as it clings to your very shadow. Hope is a lonely lotus that sparkles amidst the carcass of the expectations around it. If man’s spirit is indomitable then so is the ether of life. It is persistent, perennial and pervasive. How does one move forward when every step is a dragging, drugging and dredging journey? The interminable path that we take skirts the very cosmos but never varies. The vistas are beautiful until you realize that perfection is nauseating. The sun and the moon dance together to keep us fixated on a view that never alters. Night follows day until we are suitably convinced that change is irrevocable and cast in stone. Alas, what use is change when we cannot control it? Life is gently steering us through centuries of certainty in which we are mere specks that must be swept along or cast aside. We are remnants of the past with grand assumptions of a future. But what use is an adventure when it can be written once and read forever? What of the past when it can never change to accommodate a new sparkling future? Circadian rhythms of the living enshroud the dead ceaselessly. Does it really matter that the dead are yet alive? Or that the living have already died? What of babies that are born into this vengeful world every second of our lives? Do they know that every moment of their existence is already being penned by scribes who are adept at rewriting but not at creating. Imagine if you will an endless supply of stories to choose from and the weary arms that select one without even looking at it. Millstones are chosen at random to which are yoked the very soul that should be free from it. Life is a chimera that beckons to every living thing in this universe and beyond. It begs and scrapes away at our will until we have none left. Relentlessly it continues until we are unable to distinguish ourselves from the very soot of our immolation. Once we are done, then we are part of the macadam that every other life travels upon. The road to perdition has no ending and no beginning. It just interminably vends its way into distant horizons that are beautiful in the distance and corpulent when near. The gleaming asphalt creates an illusion of affluent posterity which withers like old pages in a book. Each soul is a page in the cosmic continuum and once each page is written, a new one grows in its place. As the years flow by, the silt of millennia forms on each and every one of us. We bow down to the oppressive weight until we begin to disintegrate. We are finally dust. Time passes on but we do not. We are now part of the very fabric that created us. We are the unchanging and the absolute. We can hear and see everything but expectantly we are incontrovertible. Emotions are now like bright stars that coat the galaxy while we are part of the very earth that we were born from. We are the food for the tallest trees in the arboretum and an alchemist hastening the sagging old ones into the under growth. Once upon a time, there was nothing. We were then part of the vast nothingness that spanned axons. We rose into incandescence for a single moment and then were reduced again. We are back now where we belong and that is in the dark shadows of the universe. Unceasing and unmoving we form the bedrock of the cosmos. We have shed the fiery lights of the citadel to don the black mourning robes of the stygian gloom. Light does not pass us and for that we are eternally grateful. Our visage is best hidden from the pearly trembling eyes of the insouciant. Darkness that was for long a mortal enemy is now our constant friend. We are now part of the eternal secret of life as our anguish cannot be heard anymore. Ageless and faceless, life has persevered for millions of years. It has marked the beginning of time and perhaps will bookend the cessation as well. The brightest of us will perhaps outshine the eternal for a cosmic second while the others perish prior to their journey into effervescence. A savant once remarked that, “one makes two and two makes four but why does eight get left behind?” Perchance he knew that the absolute is merely the imposition of natural laws that are importunate. |

Emotions are now like bright stars that coat the galaxy while we are part of the very earth that we were born from. We are the food for the tallest trees in the arboretum and an alchemist hastening the sagging old ones into the under growth.\n\nOnce upon a time, there was nothing. \n\nAgeless and faceless, life has persevered for millions of years. It has marked the beginning of time and perhaps will bookend the cessation as well. The brightest of us will perhaps outshine the eternal for a cosmic second while the others perish prior to their journey into effervescence. \n\nA savant once remarked that, “one makes two and two makes four but why does eight get left behind?” Perchance he knew that the absolute is merely the imposition of natural laws that are importunate.",

| title | |
| body | Nice work on summing up the render farm landscape! Building on the information you presented, I'd like to make a few notes: Blockchain-based solutions have a few challenges, both technical and operational. They usually rely on breaking frames into pieces, but not every frame can be rendered correctly this way. The nodes they use run on a variety of hardware and internet connections, which means the delivery speed can have ups and downs. And they are facing the challenge of licensing the 3D software, which means that at the moment they are either supporting only free software (Blender) or are tied to a specific vendor (as is Otoy's case) Support is also a matter to consider. Cloud-based farms and public blockchain solutions offer a different kind of support to their customers than 'traditional' farms. Getting started with using a farm doesn't have to be an elaborate process when it comes to preparing the project file. The processes are usually documented for each particular software. And farms can also offer one-click plugins to help with the packing and uploading. In terms of infrastructure, there is now a new generation of hybrid solutions in the market. [RenderStreet](https://render.st/) is one of the first render farms of this kind, combining both dedicated and cloud infrastructure for a better value for dollar and better availability. This translates into a more flexible service offering - from a unique [low-cost monthly plan](https://render.st/one/) to a high-volume, cost-optimized plan dedicated to studios. There is also the benefit of a faster upgrade cycle for the hardware, all to the benefit of the artists and studios. And everything is packaged into an intuitive, automated interface. (disclosure: I'm RenderStreet's CEO) |

| body | Why do tears well up from deep within, like a fountain of sadness inside. Whenever we think of our love unrequited, it bubbles forth showing the world our misery. A simple touch can unravel the labyrinth, allowing the flow of an unimpeded soul, while parting thins the treacle of love. Soon it becomes a hissing brook, with no redeemable course to follow. It swirls up filling the cistern, until we can hold no more; days will dawn when we suffer, from the pain of this cornucopia. Strands of memory perhaps the missing keys, to unlock the gates of our brimming weir. When the trickle is subsumed by a deluge, our innards pour out in vexatious hue, until we are left but a dried up desert. The sands cover our deepest treasure, wilting in the withering sun and leaving our fount phlegmatically arid. |

| body | Hey, @adarshh. Yep. There's been a lot of misleading marketing and public relations going on, but not all of it can be laid at the feet of Steemit Inc. It's too bad that people have been taking it upon themselves to hype STEEM in a way they think is best, but they've just made it worse through false expectations, if they've managed to do anything at all. So, there's not one coherent and accurate message, and the ones that exist are basically selling snake oil. There was a time for a short month or so where people were making nice rewards on posts on Steemit. Way before we showed up, though. But more people and changes in payout curves and other alterations have pretty much diluted that, along with STEEM prices. So, here we are. The question becomes, what do we do going forward. I've been in the exact same mindset as you. I've had help—my wife's hernia surgery, recovery and the subsequent hard fork and updates all made it tough to do anything. But then my brain was wondering *What's the point?* well before that. It still doesn't have the solution. I've made the investments I can. Unless STEEM gets supercheap, I won't be investing anymore. We're talking less than $0.50 USD and probably closer to $0.25 USD. Even then, I won't be able to do a whole lot, though. And in reality, I'm done with STEEM being under $1. It's time for it to soar like it can and is meant to soar. All of these other alt coins, people just need to get real. An investment platform that allows you to blog, vlog, livestream, post from your phone and other things. Soon, there will be more to do, when SMTs hit. That should be the pitch, or something like it: *STEEM—We're bootstrapping a global digital economy. Come join us. Socialize and earn fractions of STEEM in the process. And bring a few hundred bucks with you, if you can. You're going to need them.* :) |

| body | Hi, Nice summary of the problems posed by Steemit. It had an identity of a social media platform but that is incorrect. Some may call it bogus but i would not go as far. It is all about the money and always has been. if the lure is in making money, how can you not tell people that they need to invest. Once invested, how does it matter whether you post or not? Delegate and be done with it. I have said many times that this is like shareholding. the more you invest the more you stand a chance of gaining some wealth. Do not dwell what you post for that has no meaning. If not for the well intention-ed efforts of some groups like Curie, it would be incredibly depressing for content creators. A stock bourse masquerading as a social network seems the best approximation. The funny thing is that most of the early investors kept on urging people to post and that they would be rewarded. Also, they told us about the fact that it was a social network and you needed suitable skills to come good. Gradually all pretenses were dropped and it was made clear that your money is the only thing that was important. Once that realization hit me, it has become very difficult to post articles on Steemit. I started with much hope and frankly nowadays i just watch things go by |

Better for Steemit to have focussed on a single dapp to begin with and make it wildly successful |

| body | Unfortunately, Steemit appears to openly state that quality needs to be completely eliminated from the platform to open it up to non-intellectual endeavors. Too many words in a posting must frighten potential users away when all they want to do is post semi-literate one-liners and clips they found on the Internet. I was a bit surprised at the total lack of interest in the posting. How everyone - assuming that more than four people actually scanned through it - could be so apathetic to the idea that the apparent majority of Steemit users want to eliminate quality is beyond my understanding. It is like a sports team who collectively want to strive to be really bad performers! I certainly have no desire to make a career playing on a team that has such a small opinion of itself. Steemit is designed like a video game: keep the user on the keyboard, time entries, award "gaming" scores based on participation, interact with others, form teams, compete..faster, faster, faster! They do not care about quality, so all measurements are essentially how many times you pull the trigger. I know that's a bit crude, but that is exactly how I feel when I'm trying to communicate with someone who will actually listen at the same time knowing that saying ten words to fifty different gamers would generate a higher score that writing something only one person will read. Steemit is going to change and it will be in a direction in which neither of us will be comfortable trying to survive. All my life, quality has been emphasized and the fact that many users want to eliminate it is as bizarre as any collective decision could be! I urge you to set up an account with weku and begin moving your posts there. The account is free and you get 100 WEKUs to start; no payback needed. At least it will give your posts new life in a new world. When the finer points are added next year, you may be able to sell your stories or use your material to support advertisers. It is going to be a place designed for writers and even beginners there are discussing quality and the need for creativity among themselves. It is a new frontier now, filled with immigrants and settlers and escapees looking for a better future and it is growing faster than Steemit did at this stage of development! To me, it's an exciting venture with a far brighter future. At least set up an account and look around. if you use my referral, I'll get a bonus and I'll give you half of it when you make your first post. It's an appalling oversight that your posts have received so little of the attention they deserved. You have nothing to lose by adding them to a platform that does not have cancer! https://deals.weku.io/pick_account?referral=willymac Five minutes to set up an account! Join me there, my friend. |

I know that's a bit crude, but that is exactly how I feel when I'm trying to communicate with someone who will actually listen at the same time knowing that saying ten words to fifty different gamers would generate a higher score that writing something only one person will read.\n\nSteemit is going to change and it will be in a direction in which neither of us will be comfortable trying to survive. All my life, quality has been emphasized and the fact that many users want to eliminate it is as bizarre as any collective decision could be!\n\nI urge you to set up an account with weku and begin moving your posts there. The account is free and you get 100 WEKUs to start; no payback needed. At least it will give your posts new life in a new world. When the finer points are added next year, you may be able to sell your stories or use your material to support advertisers. It is going to be a place designed for writers and even beginners there are discussing quality and the need for creativity among themselves.\n\nIt is a new frontier now, filled with immigrants and settlers and escapees looking for a better future and it is growing faster than Steemit did at this stage of development! To me, it's an exciting venture with a far brighter future.\n\nAt least set up an account and look around. if you use my referral, I'll get a bonus and I'll give you half of it when you make your first post. It's an appalling oversight that your posts have received so little of the attention they deserved. You have nothing to lose by adding them to a platform that does not have cancer! https://deals.weku.io/pick_account?referral=willymac\n\nFive minutes to set up an account!\n\nJoin me there, my friend.",

| body | @willymac, it has been a hard lesson indeed. i have always felt that we do not encourage good writers. if i consistently tell a good writer that you are only as good as the followers you have got, then i have not created a platform for you to flourish. i have made points like these in the past but not many people read it or even acknowledge it. I am ok with it if it is a difference in opinion but such writing dont seem to elicit any opinion whatsoever. Of late i have struggled to post on Steemit for that very reason because it is very hard to see things come to a pass just like you have predicted it. I have read many articles like the taskmaster's posts and i have not agreed with them. quality is subjective but that does not mean it is insignificant. Quality should be encouraged without which we will have chaos. Is quality elitist? i hope not. Initially steemit encouraged bloggers to come on board and pushed for quality posts. Eventually they wanted people to come on board so that there are a lot of transactions on the system. that itself seems like a system bent on self flagellation. i think there are a lot of people who have made financial investments into Steemit who just want to see it succeed by any means possible. Maybe that is what the platform requires. Who am i to second guess them? A writer requires a platform that can give people good visibility to his/her work. A platform that is not governed merely by social behavior. A platform that thinks itself as a bridge between consumers and publishers. It will deliver material from publishers to consumers based on preference matching. I would like to *follow* good content rather than the author who writes them. But that is my personal preference. I don't think Steemit thinks this way. |

| title | What if you were unable to speak? |
| body | You have the power to speak and are very voluble when given a chance. But for some mysterious reason you decided one fine day that speech was unnecessary. It is not like you were out of words. You had hundreds of them all queued up right at the tip of your tongue. They were eager to get out bustling around in absolute frenzy. But you had decided otherwise. It was very clear when the day dawned that you thought speaking was not required. Speech was passé! Words would not roll of your tongue because you put a little bump that they had to cross. The obstacle was high enough so that they could not slide over. They came slipping down until they piled up one over the other until they formed a barricade. Each word stayed where it was supposed to and formed a wall. A wall that was insurmountable not because it was steep. In fact it was the exact opposite all slippery and threatening. But the fact remained that the words could not clamber over it. The problem with words is that they are notional. They arrive when they are not required and freeze when they are needed the most. Do you have a problem with that? Would it help you even if you did? It would not matter because they are the most peculiar of creatures. They flow like water when they are excited which is pretty much most of the time. But the fact remains that when they get all worked up and nowhere to go then they let you know it by not showing up at all. Why they are most insensitive to your needs and can be downright stubborn sometimes. They tie your tongue into clever little knots rendering you unable to speak like the sly little devils they are! Just the other day I had a parlay with one of these words and I can assure you that it was not pleasant. I was ready to blurt it out but it refused. Can you imagine that? Can you imagine a word that you have given birth to and nourished in your brain, rebelling against your very edict? It was unthinkable but it happened anyway. I wanted to say it and it danced around on my tongue for a while. But it did not slip out and caused me all kinds of problems. Here I was all wound up from a little tiff I had and the only response that could I come up with had a mind of its own. The little imp stole my moment leaving me impotent and at the mercy of my opponent who in true fashion mistook my silence for weakness. Indeed, his words seemed mighty cooperative for they flowed in a vituperative stream towards me and I had no chance of evading them at all. That is when I started to mull this over and came up with a decision. I had to free up my tongue and only way I knew was to soak myself in the most prurient of libations which usually did the trick. When my mind was hazy and the spirit levitated then the words would automatically lose their strength. They would let go of my tongue and jump out of my mouth like rats deserting a sinking ship. I knew this from experience and the funny fact was that they knew it too. But that never seemed to teach them anything for they always yielded although with poor grace. I forthwith poured myself some celestial lubricant and proceeded to dispense with it rather generously. It ran down my throat leaving a certain golden glow that usually had a devastating effect on the words. But tonight was different and you know how I knew that? I could not speak a single word after countless drams of the glistening liquid. There was a growing horror within me that spoke of impending catastrophes if the situation continued. Usually the foul smelling ones would come out first and fly at people in their typical buccaneering style. They would take no prisoners and give no quarter. But today was different and they remained in quarantine. Do you ever have the feeling that the words inside of you have been bottled up for ages? Well, I did have it that day and there was no apparent reason for it. One by one they began to materialize deep inside of me. Some of them were small and others irreverently big. I felt like a soda bottle that was just dying to pop. The only problem was that the right bottle opener just did not seem to be lying around. It is a rather peculiar feeling to have your thoughts race on and leave behind a pile of words that could never be mined. These words could be crawling inside you for days without any recourse of escape. They could keep trying to find a way out until one day they decide to just give up. That is the piquant situation that you will find yourself one of these days and let me assure you that it is not an experience that you will treasure. Freedom of speech they say is a fundamental right but what happens when this freedom is dispossessed. It rankles inside of you like the bitter after-smoke of hickory gone sour. You try everything at this stage even including let go of a belch or two. But you fail to expectorate the words that are dying to show themselves. It scarcely matters that we have things to do in life and places to be. It does not even count whether we are an important person or not. The words that define us are fading ever so slowly. They are losing their own identity caught up in the maelstrom inside of us. When the words were molded and came into existence they had a certain aspiration about themselves. They were sentient beings ready to inflict their worst or best on life. They were the vibrations of the universe channeled into singular molecules of speech that course through every aspect of each other’s lives. These molecules had the power to transform life itself in a manner that we cannot fathom most of the time. But all of a sudden they are powerless to wreak the change that they are destined for and like infants clamors for freedom in ways that are unknown to them. Like a slow burning fuse their helplessness burns long and inexorably until they run out of the cordite. The last dying spark flutters and suddenly dies out sucking the optimism out of the word. It is infectious for it spreads like a disease from word to word until their collective will is silenced. They have lost their courage and their innate ability to discard the dispirited burden that has insidiously crept inside them. The words have lost their youthful zest to change themselves and the rest of the world around them. They yield to their destiny instead of fashioning it and refuse to come out. They were done and that meant the end for me as well. The world remains as it was until the end of time. |

\n\nI forthwith poured myself some celestial lubricant and proceeded to dispense with it rather generously. \n\nDo you ever have the feeling that the words inside of you have been bottled up for ages? Well, I did have it that day and there was no apparent reason for it. One by one they began to materialize deep inside of me. Some of them were small and others irreverently big. I felt like a soda bottle that was just dying to pop. The only problem was that the right bottle opener just did not seem to be lying around. It is a rather peculiar feeling to have your thoughts race on and leave behind a pile of words that could never be mined. These words could be crawling inside you for days without any recourse of escape. They could keep trying to find a way out until one day they decide to just give up. \n\nThat is the piquant situation that you will find yourself one of these days and let me assure you that it is not an experience that you will treasure. \n\nIt scarcely matters that we have things to do in life and places to be. \n\nIt is infectious for it spreads like a disease from word to word until their collective will is silenced. They have lost their courage and their innate ability to discard the dispirited burden that has insidiously crept inside them. The words have lost their youthful zest to change themselves and the rest of the world around them. \n\nThey yield to their destiny instead of fashioning it and refuse to come out. They were done and that meant the end for me as well. The world remains as it was until the end of time.",
