      "body": "I claim to be nothing but an observant man who knows most, that he knows nothing at all. Hopefully, the observations, opinions and insight of such a man may be of interest or worthy to some of you.\n\nThis is what I predict the future may resemble and also where I foresee travesty and opportunity.\n\nAn aging population\n\nThe world is changing exponentially and shifting at a rate similar to the Fibonacci sequence. In the next 10 years, roughly 80-100 million seniors will retire; some of which already have. A couple of things will happen here. When it comes time for retirement, due to poor (false) government planning both in Canada and more-so America, senior citizens will be forced to downsize, liquidate their assets, and likely have to re-enter the workforce to in order to sustain themselves.\n\nAt this time, there will be a plethora of assets available for cheap purchase. I use the word cheap because this is how supply and demand works. Everything ranging from businesses, to automobiles, to homes and cottages etc., will be available for the asking. The influx of property/assets liquidated will keep the price low, but thanks to our caring elders, quality-high.\n\nThe wise one would put aside a reserve for this opportunistic time.\n\nWorking for nothing\n\nOn the contrary, since assets or equity such as stocks are being sold in order to sustain life in retirement for our aging population, the stock market will take a massive hit, which will very likely cause an economic, and likely a socioeconomic crash/transition. During this time there will be a transfer of wealth from those who once held over-inflated, useless liquid cash, to those who own tangible assets with intrinsic value that hedge against inflation such as gold/silver, commodities and/or prime real estate etc.\n\nThe above sentences carry a lot of weight and should not be taken lightly. It should also be understood that these are the consequences should the citizen’s of Earth not do a thing about it, or quite the opposite, put oaf’s in power.\n\nAt the other end of the spectrum, if the people and governments begin to take appropriate action, such as incorporating precious metals into their currency to hedge inflation, then there may be a glimmer of hope. When the world shifts from a fiat currency to a currency that has intrinsic value (value in and of itself), people will become happy again. Until that time, war, death and disparity. For now, we can continue to carry on working for worthless paper bills, worth only 6 cents total cost of production. Inflation is our enemy.\n\nStudy the economy, pay attention to global affairs, and get ready to take action when you hear the words ‘Quantitative Easing’.\n\nThe Last of a Dying Breed\n\nWhatever economic shift or collapse ensues, the world will once again recover and hopefully life will carry on. If we haven’t killed each other with bomb-carrying drones, I suspect the following trends will come about:\n\nAs I so humbly mentioned before, the world is rapidly changing. Time passes by us with the blink of an eye. A sad time indeed it is right now, as we are slowly losing the last of a dying breed; the Baby Boomer. This is the generation that I like to call, the ‘Classic Generation’. To me, they symbolize such things as: quality (on many levels), integrity, strong morals and values, appreciation for kin, and are the witnesses to some of the most pivotal times of mankind. I believe that the Boomer's offspring are the last ones that hold a significant chunk of that ‘history’, so to speak, near to their heart. We all carry a bit of our parent’s traits and values.\n\nWith that said, I anticipate in the next 10-20 years or so, there will be a huge affinity for all things hand crafted. The advent of technology and further industrialization will continue to conjure the fastest and cheapest production methods for items we use in our everyday world. Rapid advancement will trigger a sense of fear-of-loss for what was once tried, tested and true. How many of you have an old tool or electronic or piece of furniture that you absolutely love? Yea, you love it because it means something to you, but you also love it because it’s hearty, can get the job done, and has stood the test of time. There are not many manufactured products that can claim the same these days.\n\nTrades, crafts, artisans, and most things old, shall always be gold.\n\nPortable housing\n\nMoving forward. Due to rapid increases in population globally, the ‘housing market’ will always exist in multiple forms. I anticipate there will also grow a new breed of home-owner. The Adventuring Millennial.  Of course, what I’m about to propose is not limited to them; it's simply a fun hypothesis. However, the whole world will make use of portable housing.\n\nWhether on land, on a car or on water, this market will flourish as the appeal to live rent-free is huge! Moreover, the advent of solar energy, which is my next point, which will make living off the grid as simple and as cheap as buying supplies at your local hardware store. Now, if you build ‘classic’, quaint, portable homes, you’ll be rich!\n\nAs a reader you’d probably think it would be shady if I didn’t address the Canadian housing market while on the subject. Well, I’ll keep my opinion simple; anything that goes parabolically high must come down.\n\nI’ll leave it at that.\n\nRenewable energy\n\nWe’re fortunate to have visionaries like Elon Musk striving for the betterment of humankind right now, as it is much needed. Companies among his, have advanced solar capabilities and technology to a point of affordability by the middle classes, and continue to do so everyday. In order to achieve a low cost in new/recent technology, it must first be developed and advanced on a continuous basis, no matter what it is.\n\nPrepare to see huge investments in various forms of energy production, not just solar; wind, water, geothermal, and biomass. The world of fossil fuel consumption is coming to a halt, albeit a very, very slow one. Things take time. But the focus is not necessarily on the weaning out of fossil fuels, but the adoption of renewable energy.\n\nA list such as this could go on for a while so I will wrap it up by presenting another set of ideas, quickly.\n\nFarming of various forms and other self-sustaining practices will become far more prevalent\nMarketing/Advertising will not be so intrusive, rather, well-woven into the daily fabric of our lives with displaying real things that resonate with us as humans and not just consumers\nIn the coming years, there will be a surplus of demand in a digital world for coding, but very little supply - not to mention an obvious shift into a predominately digital world\nMore troubling economic times until we correct the way in which we view and implement currency, globally\nHuge increase in worldwide rebellion coming from people versus the authorities\nOverall, there is a huge underlying theme of self-sufficiency and preparation for economic turmoil.
