Straight off the bat,<br> I had grand plans of taking professional photos of all my artwork with the idea to create some limited edition prints and maybe some cards and other stationery items.\n\nAt the time,<br> I had the tripod and my newly purchased DSLR camera,<br> so I had the means to take the shots but now,<br> with Steemit,<br> it meant I even had a place to post my photos AND in a community that seemed to genuinely value original content... everything was falling into place and when that happens,<br> it makes me feel like I'm on the right path and helps me feel confident about the choices I'm making.\n\nSo,<br> fast forward a few months and the dogs *(Cleo)* knock over the tripod,<br> completely snapping the head... O-M-F-G *(Cleoooooo)*. Thankfully,<br> the camera wasn't attached at the time,<br> so things could have been much worse however,<br> the tripod was irreparable and on top of my recent computer issues and photoshop struggles,<br> as a creative perhaps you can understand my pain?\n\nBut,<br> what do you do? Well,<br> you work with what you do have..! and like Mick Jagger sang,<br> you can't always get what you want but sometimes,<br> you get what you need (ohhh yeah)\n\nIn hindsight,<br> I tend to see these things as more of a blessing in disguise and I think my posts are much better for it as the situation forced me to explore my options in those early days,<br> it forced me out of my comfort zone to explore different content and subject matters that I may not have chosen otherwise.\n\nNot having a tripod is the main reason why I haven't posted more photos and videos of my fluid art... BUT... Not having a tripod also encouraged me to pick up my camera,<br> hold it in my hand,<br> walk outside to find beauty through the viewfinder;\n\nAnd my photography skills have most certainly improved because of that.\n\n---\n\n*My featured image today was a failed attempt at a #wednesdaywalk since this was the only photo I managed to take before my battery died...
