Let's Make It Happen",

Currency? Social Media? Which is it? If it is both you/we need to put a little more focus on the Social Media side and why people are attracted to it.

Being still fairly new here,
I have been reading the questions,
comments and blogs of many members,
focusing of course on those regarding SteemIt,
as I am learning what this site is all about. If I am not here hoping to earn some Steem and hoping that Steem has value at some point,
I am probably long gone.

Why would I choose to blog on a site with little functionality for those who love to blog. Why write where it take me 3 to 4 steps to upload my graphics? Why try to connect with people on a platform that has nearly zero features for making connections?

I have read articles on how to write good articles,
how to get noticed and how to earn. Yet,
I find a lot of the advice is not in line with what trends and what earns,
so it seems disingenuous.

What made Social Media a hit? You can find people to connect with on several levels. Friends,
Family,
people who live in your city,
people who like to debate a specific topic,
own chickens,
race cars etc. So,
you aren't just roaming through random content,
you are reading and reacting to those with whom you have a connection. There is no focus on excellent writing on FB,
Twitter or any other successful Social Media platform. In fact,
all the discussion of excellent articles and writing is actually intimidating and will run casual users away.
Encourage people to post what they would on Facebook,
little updates,
family pictures. Give people a way to communicate with others in a casual way like Twitter. There are a limited number of Authors out there. Although you may want to attract them,
you do not want to run off the casual user. Encourage people to write and to write often. Give people groups,
categories,
pages and ways to connect. If the users come the content will follow! Maybe allow people to like a comment with or without voting for it.
If you are trying to build a social media platform and not just a currency people need to be able to vote more often,
post more often and gather information that is interesting to them.

To be a part of making this happen. Go comment,
follow and get to know your fellow Steemers. I have begun to have a great little group of people I follow and enjoy. As we are all slowly growing there is hope,
interest and willingness to be part of reaching SteemIt's potential.

Follow,
upvote... Or not,
it is a Free,
errr,
decentralized block chain,
platform,
thingy.

Bad Art by @whatsup,
and parts of this article have been used in a previous post here on SteemIt.

",
"tags":["steemit",
"ideas",
"currency",
"socialmedia",
"whales" ,
"users":["whatsup" ,
"image":["http://s21.postimg.org/5ukb31us7/beach_6917009_1280.jpg" " | vote |
|
