Good.\n\nThis is probably going to happen,
and we have to plan for it. This is the time to figure out how we are going to keep our asthmatic,
diabetic,
immuno-compromised,
and older loved ones as safe as possible in very difficult circumstances. **Every one of us** is going to be a vector back to our vulnerable loved ones. (Until we catch it,
recover,
and develop anti-bodies) Many thousands will die (including many people not in the \"vulnerable\" population)\n\n**Right now** is the time to accept the likelihood of quarantines being lifted and to figure out how we're going to give our vulnerable loved ones the best shot at survival until a vaccine exists.\n\nThose of us that are not in the extra-vulnerable-to-COVID population also have to consider that if that policy comes into play,
hospitals are likely to be overwhelmed for some time... and this will impact ordinary medical care for the rest of us. If you need predictable (i.e.,
non emergency) surgery or care,
it might be time (for those of us that can) to figure out what country to go to for medical care. If the US pursues the \"unlock,
and let'em die\" policy,
Spain,
France,
and Germany will all have functioning medical systems before the US does.\n\nThis contingency is worth planning for.\n\nIt occurs to me that the people who test positive on a serological test (i.e.,
can prove that they had COVID-19 and recovered) are going to be invaluable as care-givers.\n\nWe're going to need a serological test,
ASAP.\n\n\nIf your vulnerable loved ones don't understand the risk involved,
now is the time to start persuading them. If they do not currently use grocery delivery,
now is the time. The moment we have a way to test for antibodies,
consider hiring a caregiver\/assistant that will be responsible for your loved one's interface with the outside world.\n\nAnd cross all of your fingers and all of your toes that the clinical study on HCQ happening in NY returns very positive results.",
"json_metadata":" \"tags\":[\"coronavirus\",
\"covid\",
\"lockdown\",
\"immunity\",
\"pandemic\" ,
\"image\":[\"https:\/\/cdn.steemitimages.com\/DQmZb1yKQctHdzj58jt1Az8tXmQfsB8kgeDtA8uk6dwukfQ\/image.png\" ,
\"app\":\"steemit\/0.2\",
\"format\":\"markdown\" " |
