As a result of this,<br> meetups are being held in different states by different Nigerian communities to achieve this aim. Meetups have been held in Kaduna,<br> Uyo and now in Delta.\n\n# Preparation\nThe meetup was slated to hold on Wednesday,<br> 20th December,<br> 2017. So @michaelcj ,<br> @casweeny and I ( @nmalove )left Kaduna State on Monday,<br> we travelled by night because we wanted to get to Delta by Tuesday morning and help with the event preparation. But unfortunately the bus got spoilt on the way and a journey that was supposed to last for 10hrs max lasted for 20 hours. We left Kaduna State by 9:00 pm Monday night and got to our hotel room in Delta State by 7:30 pm Tuesday night.![IMG_20171219_081535.jpg (https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/hpiynhbhq\/image\/upload\/v1513828485\/nz9ijgeezi0ngoiduqh4.jpg) @casweeny,<br> @michaelcj and I in the bus.\n\nLater that night @ewuoso arrived from Ogun State,<br> @jacobite arrived from Abuja and joined us,<br> we also met our host @tojukaka ,<br> he gave us a warm welcome and made sure we are comfortable.\n\n# The Event\nWe got ready for the event and on our way to the venue which is at Shoprite Warri,<br> Delta State,<br> we stopped at a local restaurant to eat. Daily,<br> hundreds of people visit Shoprite,<br> so it was a good location to promote Steemit because we would be able to reach more people,<br> we used a restaurant inside I met a lot of people,<br> both new steemians and old. While waiting for the event to start,<br> I decided to tell the people in the restaurant about steemit,<br> I met marvel,<br> she registered asap and is awaiting approval.\n![IMG_20171220_133606.jpg (https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/hpiynhbhq\/image\/upload\/v1513809372\/o9kdackd0on3vh6axx3k.jpg) Marvel,<br> her friend and i,<br> @nmalove\n\nThe event began by 1pm with a meetup,<br> old steemians and new came from different parts of the country,<br> I met the likes of @destinysaid,<br> @ejemia the founder of Stach from Port Harcourt,<br> @nairadaddy from @air-clinic,<br> @mimy,<br> @ehiboss,<br> @okoro,<br> @gbenga,<br> @illuminatus,<br> @bhoa,<br> @tfame3865 and a host of others.\n![PhotoGrid_1513827040956.jpg (https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/hpiynhbhq\/image\/upload\/v1513831893\/jdfe5lsixwp7fmz2tqqt.jpg)\n\nAfter the meetup,<br> there was a seminar to teach people about steemit and people registered immediately. \n![IMG_20171220_150420.jpg (https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/hpiynhbhq\/image\/upload\/v1513831028\/eeiojgsnib5mynyctqqa.jpg) @ejemai teaching us about steemit\n\nBecause it's a Christmas event,<br> we had Santa ( @michaelcj ) and gifts were given to every kid. Delta team did a very wonderful job getting people together and Steemit is already a household name there.
