A 19 Year Old Mistake!",
"body":"For a long time,
Natsume was the only publisher who would port Harvest Moon titles over to the West. Harvest Moon 64 was the second of these titles,
and in a glaring oversight the publisher ended up accidentally spelling their own name wrong in the title screen. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as it can be easily overlooked in the corner,
but the problem comes after they spelled it correctly during the boot-up screen of the same game.\n\n![Natsume.jpg (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmZzWVW9REC3ZKtM9uUtLczg8gTyAqWUFFrnSqMPGG9sfs\/Natsume.jpg)\nIt's not hard to notice.\n\nFor years,
fans of the game have wondered,
what exactly caused Natsume to overlook such a spelling mistake? To screw up their own name,
in a game that was probably known as their flagship series,
quickly became an infamous joke among the fan community. After all,
almost everyone that has played Harvest Moon 64 will remember this mistake nearly as fondly as they do of the game itself. \n\n![harvest-moon-64-natsume.png (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmaNjn1PQqviHVWZa5p2Ua7G5AbUQeiYq6CHya3c1jwxmw\/harvest-moon-64-natsume.png)\nHow could you screw it up Natsume!?!?!\n\nBut,
on March 27th of 2017,
let it be known that Natsume finally came up with an explanation and acknowledgment of the mistake. I never thought I'd see the day when they admitted it was totally a mistake. Of course,
the company does explain itself,
and let's the fans know that coding back then was a lot more difficult than it is these days. Patching was also impossible,
and it wasn't like they could patch the game and resolve the problem. Seeing as the fix would have taken 45 days to fix,
they simply decided to launch the game and I guess hope nobody would see it. Too bad,
gamers are notorious for pointing out mistakes in the games the love. Still,
it didn't affect anything gameplay wise and Harvest Moon 64 is still the magnum opus of the series!\n\nRead their explanation here:\n\nhttps:\/\/www.facebook.com\/notes\/natsume-inc\/state-of-the-farm-march-2017\/1476319585721882",
"json_metadata":" \"tags\":[\"videogames\",
\"natsume\",
\"funny\",
\"harvest-moon\",
\"gaming\" ,
\"image\":[\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmZzWVW9REC3ZKtM9uUtLczg8gTyAqWUFFrnSqMPGG9sfs\/Natsume.jpg\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmaNjn1PQqviHVWZa5p2Ua7G5AbUQeiYq6CHya3c1jwxmw\/harvest-moon-64-natsume.png\" ,
\"links\":[\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/notes\/natsume-inc\/state-of-the-farm-march-2017\/1476319585721882\" ,
\"app\":\"steemit\/0.1\",
\"format\":\"markdown\" " |
