I have been sitting behind my computer for an hour now,
scrolling true hundreds of pictures and so many memories pop up in my head again,
but i didnt start writing yet!\nIt is almost impossible to write a blog about New Zealand when you dont have the ambition to write a book.\n\nI will have to skip lots of things,
make a selection and that isnt easy! There is so much to tell about this country that is offering you: Nature,
culture,
adventure,
night life and so much more.\n\nI will do my best!\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmbFPy7jw8LjFAGAHy6iZazStbHML1kdZyE4io3os72ifs\/image.png)\n\nI stayed in New Zealand for 3,
5 weeks,
that isnt enough! I would really advice you to go there atleast a month,
this country is absolutely overwhelming,
unfortunately i didnt have the choice to stay longer cos my ticket to south america (chile,
more about that some other time!) was already booked.\n\nI arrived in Auckland on the north Island,
New Zealand has two main islands and you could say that if you like nature the south Island is prettier but to start with,
north Island has so much to offer already that its a great warm up befor you cross to the south!\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmWwcSjCzG8fzN2AWMgSFVtCbVFz1Z2LWm3Vias7i7dmts\/image.png)\n\nAuckland surprised me,
first of all you will notice the diversity of people,
there is a lot of asian immigrants and since i just came from asia it was a nice transition to this new adventure.\nAuckland has a lot to offer,
its actually a nice city,
especially if you like boats and water sports,
go check out the harbor!\n\nIm a hiker so i decided to do the coast to coast walkway,
a nice way to get comfortable in a new country.\nYou will walk on the fertile volcanic slopes with great panoramic views over the city and charming parks and gardens,
a perfect excersise while i was still somewhat suffering from a jetlag.\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmPcQBFVu7dn4c5RVTes8RqpaYxnzkFyBruF44pexcywZN\/image.png)\nyou clearly see the old volcanice crater here,
there is several of them.\n\nafter a while i stumbled up to a cricket match,
typical for Australia and i decided to watch for a while...complicated sport!\nA little later i met the first sheeps,
trust me you will see many of them,
it wouldnt surprise me if there is more sheeps then inhabitants :-)\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmXuaKf7sTGL7ghFvSaYWFyEm4peH3C9XP9xbcQHDaVkug\/image.png)\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmNuoFFtpwjLNUoXCd37CoPW1ftzWiRwpTVZd5kno69iot\/image.png)\n\nWorth a visit is the the Aukland museum,
its a very nice building and also has a nice park.\nThe museum has 3 floors,
each with a different focus,
Maori and Polynesian history,
which is obviously very important to New Zealand,
flora and fauna and one floor for the early settler wars plus the world wars.\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmaUf6Tya44MccChCbURHqhJpKQ68sPEcyKrCY4693bJfc\/image.png)\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmV34MHD5Y4ftBMxvAMXWcMNgTP7HqhcmVg1SNYo8z923g\/image.png)\n\nAuckland if nice for a couple of days but after that you really have to move on!\n\nThere is a couple of organisations that offer hop on and hop off busses,
im not talking about the ones u see in every mayor city but im talking about busses that drive all over the north and south Island. If you decide not to rent a car,
this is a great way to move around and also excelent to meet other travelers.\nI used Stray bus,
and have been very happy with them. You can choose how long you want to stay in places where you hop off,
just get on the next bus when you want to move on!\n\nThe next place worth to mention (in this blog i mean,
like i said i dont want to write a book) was Cathedral cove,
beautiful beach and a nice hike to it.\n\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmXhgiDzpn92VTVkq428KXozFuB57Lawoaexm3vvatdNvc\/image.png)\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmPKNqWnsCYt8UHYA3J9qfmvwL5yq6tVKvaG7gRtXFEaxy\/image.png)\n\n\nThe next days i did some surfing in Raglan,
small surfer town with good waves for beginners and advanced surfers,
i stayed a nigth with the maori in one of their villages ( was lots of fun dancing the famous Haka with them) and next on my list was rotorua.\n\nRoturua is a town that is known for its geothermal activity (geysers and hot mud pools),
i also saw this pretty building,
it is the historic bath house.\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmbzW3wdRu7firrgdu5RCi8WT4fHNzxzjsDY4vmv8VZZNd\/image.png)\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmXxvxhcEipRQALim4XGfALapJVWnBvS1fSxQAedkgWo5U\/image.png)\n\nAll the volcanic activity makes the town pretty stinky ( think of rotten eggs) Staying here for a day was more then enough for me,
time to move on!\n\nSlowly moving to the south brougth me to the next \"must stop\": Huka falls.\nThe Waikato river narrows from 100 meters wide to only 15 meters and that gives you a fantastic view of a wild water mass dropping down several meters. 220 000 liters of water per second pass this point,
enough to fill one Olympic sized swimming pool in 11 seconds! \n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmT1DaHVKQvcDWKjFHTEydkE18c2fw559pffywwTPwyZBe\/image.png)\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmSYfhFHFhLESzaSDxs5bKR3Gn18chA3ztTu9cRkCNTc84\/image.png)\n\nTomorrow ill write part 2 of this journey,
next up will be Blue duck station,
tongariro alpine crossing and the capital of New Zealand: Wellington\n\nAll still on the northern Island and i already skipped too much!\n\nThank you so much for reading,
if you would be so kind to resteem,
you would make me very happy!\n\nHave a great day!\n\nNote: All pictures were taken by myself with a Sony NEX-R\n\n![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmQbEP8xmetLvTMx5MjAzJu6sGTNBBVGBYTsErCvZ6KfSN\/image.png)",
"json_metadata":" \"tags\":[\"travelfeed\",
\"photofeed\",
\"travel\",
\"nature\",
\"newzealand\" ,
\"image\":[\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmbFPy7jw8LjFAGAHy6iZazStbHML1kdZyE4io3os72ifs\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmWwcSjCzG8fzN2AWMgSFVtCbVFz1Z2LWm3Vias7i7dmts\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmPcQBFVu7dn4c5RVTes8RqpaYxnzkFyBruF44pexcywZN\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmXuaKf7sTGL7ghFvSaYWFyEm4peH3C9XP9xbcQHDaVkug\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmNuoFFtpwjLNUoXCd37CoPW1ftzWiRwpTVZd5kno69iot\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmaUf6Tya44MccChCbURHqhJpKQ68sPEcyKrCY4693bJfc\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmV34MHD5Y4ftBMxvAMXWcMNgTP7HqhcmVg1SNYo8z923g\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmXhgiDzpn92VTVkq428KXozFuB57Lawoaexm3vvatdNvc\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmPKNqWnsCYt8UHYA3J9qfmvwL5yq6tVKvaG7gRtXFEaxy\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmbzW3wdRu7firrgdu5RCi8WT4fHNzxzjsDY4vmv8VZZNd\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmXxvxhcEipRQALim4XGfALapJVWnBvS1fSxQAedkgWo5U\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmT1DaHVKQvcDWKjFHTEydkE18c2fw559pffywwTPwyZBe\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmSYfhFHFhLESzaSDxs5bKR3Gn18chA3ztTu9cRkCNTc84\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmQbEP8xmetLvTMx5MjAzJu6sGTNBBVGBYTsErCvZ6KfSN\/image.png\" ,
\"app\":\"steemit\/0.1\",
\"format\":\"markdown\" " | vote | "voter":"luckyme03200", "author":"luckyme03200", "permlink":"new-zealand-part-1-travel-blog-this-must-be-heaven-on-earth-dont-you-agree", "weight":10000 |
