When Duterte won the presidency he asigned Ronald de la Rosa as Philippines National Police Chief Director with his mandate "to look for those who are involved in drugs business." What had followed was the vigilantes attack against suspected drug lords and user's. What made it tougher was naming the high profile personalities,
political officials,
influencial people and even senator's. And expose the drug trade inside the bilibid prison. Report said that as of 2017 there were more than 5,
000 had been killed in vigilantes style or what we called as extra judicial killing that raises concern in United Nation human rights.

Oplan Tokhang

Is a campaign against drugs which means ***toktok dang hangyo*** a visayan language of "knock". This is a strategy of policemen to go house to house in there respective jurisdiction and convince the drug suspects to surrender. And as of 2017 reports says that there were more than half a million surrenderies. And now they are changing there ways and some were given opportunities to work.

Positive and Negative effects of War on Drugs

In my own opinion,
Even though it scared certainly a lot of people but it doesnt affect directly to the tourist comming in our country simply because they feel they are more safer this time. There are lot more policeman roaming around day and night hopefully this will make us more secure from hold-uppers and snatchers. Above all we have known how drugs are prevalent to our country.

Negative effects

One of the negative effect is the unsolved extra judicial killings where civilians deaths has risen. In some cases police men were said falsifying evidence in order to justify their unlawful killings.

There's a lot more of positive and negative effects of drug war in our country but the question is,
is it successful?

For me yes! but for how long? That I don't know. All I can testify is in my place at Lapu-lapu City its much better and safer now compared before. Let's just continue to hope for the best!
______________

@juichi
",
"tags":["steemgigs",
"teardrops",
"sndbox",
"cebu",
"philippines" ,
"users":["juichi" ,
"image":["https://steemitimages.com/DQmZUpyLdbxEbMB2DyDnENqRYwqvCS6HkaAABA4mcmAfbRc/received_423300998110539.jpeg" ,
"app":"steemit/0.1",
"format":"markdown" " |
