The jar contains the exact amount of marbles as weeks from the time the child is born,<br> to the time they graduate from high school.\n\nThis time frame represents the short time we have to influence and teach our kids until they are grown up and our ability to have a say in their life starts to diminish.\n\nThe thought is that,<br> as each week passes,<br> you transfer a marble out of your jar to consciously remind yourself that time is going by and you need to be intentional and deliberate in everything you do with your kids.\n\nIt also is meant to serve as a reminder to savor each phase,<br> and remember that it is only a phase when things are difficult. \n\nI am not sure if having this jar makes us better parents or not,<br> but it certainly makes you think about your time with them in a different way. While it is sad to see the marbles disappearing,<br> I get excited to think about how they are growing and know they will do great things as they grow up. I imagine each parent thinks their kids are something special\u2026 I am no different!!!
