A few cases were being reported in the next month which escalated quickly in the month of March.
***

#### The government issued a nationwide curfew on 22nd of March after which it has announced a nationwide lockdown for 21 days on 24th of March.
####

***

**WHEN THINGS GOT SERIOUS:**

We had been staying in before the lockdown itself because of the continuous reports of positive cases. And felt like the faster we limited physical contact (and advised people to do the same),
the wiser it would be. A few days before the lockdown,
I went to get some basic supplies and medicines with my dad and it was already pretty scary out there. There seemed to be a shortage of groceries and the panic on people’s faces was REAL. What sucked more was the local shopkeepers hoarding things like sanitizers & hand washes and selling them at the price of gold! It surprised me to see how they thought that we couldn’t see through their BS! Anyway,
over the next few days,
all public places were shutdown and even use of transport was limited for sometime so that people wouldn’t loiter around unnecessarily.

The past week has been a complete halt in everything: business,
transport,
festivities,
etc. In some cities there are certain time frames being allocated for people for buying supplies. Luckily in my city,
we have some online services like GROFERS which deliver essential items within 2-3 days which has been a *life saver*. But for perishable items like vegetables,
milk,
etc my dad has been going out for restocking when needed.

***

How am I spending my days in isolation?

![AD839318-B5A9-4B33-B987-B47CC7BA51F5.JPG (https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYMKiECt1YgYkHQUjNWocPsQvnTWc1EZgh8SSZr9RT5Zr/AD839318-B5A9-4B33-B987-B47CC7BA51F5.JPG)

A watercolor piece that I made a few days ago while thinking on similar lines..

Normally,
I am occupied mostly doing 3 things: Fine art,
Wall art and/or traveling. Since the latter two are out of option,
I have been 100% focused into fine art. Some commissions have also kept me busy so time has honestly moved faster for me. Tbh,
I am in a work quarantine since 1st of February! I guess that’s why the isolation and WFH isn’t affecting me so much. Yes I feel sad that I can’t pursue my other interests but when I look at the ongoing global crisis,
they seem pretty insignificant.

The way I see this situation is “either be bitter about it” or “treat this as a gift of time” (which we always seem to complain about). There are so many potential interests/hobbies that we don’t invest in our daily lives. Because the first thing we say is “Oh,
if I only had time....” Well you do now! So get to work! This has been a time for me to introspect,
spend time with my family,
and learn to make best use of what is rather than pondering on what could be.

A few things which I would like to pass on to anyone reading this post:

* Be mindful of your resources.
* Reach out to your loved ones.
* Take precautions but help someone if you see them in need (human or animal).

This will pass too! We are fortunate enough to have all the things needed for surviving so let us have gratitude in our hearts! Stay safe and stay healthy ❤️

***

### Keep Creating
Lots Of Love <3
####

",
"app":"steempeak/2020.03.6",
"format":"markdown",
"tags":["oc",
"ntopaz",
"posh",
"creativecoin",
"art",
"neoxian",
"blog",
"life",
"thoughts",
"writing" ,
"image":["https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYMKiECt1YgYkHQUjNWocPsQvnTWc1EZgh8SSZr9RT5Zr/AD839318-B5A9-4B33-B987-B47CC7BA51F5.JPG" "
