If you don't know anything about scales and stuff,
that's not a problem,
you can find a lot of useful charts,
that points out all the keys you need,
according to each scale:\n![Minor scales.png (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmZqCzptkBQZKEy1hWFRHUCMZjFySAWxrdY3vtud3LZpbV\/Minor%20scales.png)![majorscales.png (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmSoUeegzBhsC4nX5W1MHPHZLvHw32j8JVGFxzWPZj1zt3\/majorscales.png)\n\nIf you're certain about your scale,
you can simplify things by marking the keys for yourself while making a MIDI clip.\nTo do this,
you'll have to create a column from all the keys you wish to use,
and folding them together,
so all that are not in your scale will disappear.\n![Keys1.jpg (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmXaoLDk1uVsreYidLQUXd1CmALLgDHV5GNFiRGrAv5BaT\/Keys1.jpg)\n![Keys2.jpg (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmZKGTvh1JK17ka4AFyt8mcPkkgGAsRgavo1z4XhcjW9HY\/Keys2.jpg)\n\nI chose the pretty common A minor scale that consists of all the white keys,
and starts\/ends with the A note. There I have all the keys of the A minor scale,
but nothing else.\nNow you can start experimenting with chords and different tunes while staying in the scale for sure. Pick a simple piano or flute for your instrument,
something organic,
so you can write your bassline,
main tune,
melody and everything else in this one track,
then later you can create a new instrument and move the notes there.\n\nI would recommend starting with slow long notes,
or 1-2 simple chords and trying to build on those. Also repeating the first part one octave higher might also help moving on. Our ears are very sensitive to the highest and the lowest sounds in a melody,
so keep that in mind and try to lead with your highest and lowest notes.\n\nHere is the small melody that you can see on the first picture,
transferred into other insturments:\n<\/iframe>",
"json_metadata":" \"tags\":[\"music\",
\"openmic\",
\"art\",
\"fun\",
\"steemit\" ,
\"image\":[\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmcNaeAaLP2TVqRJ1MAMgcaEuGqimzXZs7fhgf5hBUNhHL\/image.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmZqCzptkBQZKEy1hWFRHUCMZjFySAWxrdY3vtud3LZpbV\/Minor%20scales.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmSoUeegzBhsC4nX5W1MHPHZLvHw32j8JVGFxzWPZj1zt3\/majorscales.png\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmXaoLDk1uVsreYidLQUXd1CmALLgDHV5GNFiRGrAv5BaT\/Keys1.jpg\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmZKGTvh1JK17ka4AFyt8mcPkkgGAsRgavo1z4XhcjW9HY\/Keys2.jpg\" ,
\"app\":\"steemit\/0.1\",
\"format\":\"markdown\" "
