The laster takes only 100 microseconds to identify object's spectroscopic signature. This allows the system to identify dangerous devices,
like explosives,
in a fraction of a second.\n\nTerahertz spectroscopy uses electromagnetic radiation bands which are found between infrared light and microwaves. It is able of detecting a wide range of materials like chemicals used in explosives. The effectiveness of this new technology would make it very useful for airport security and other applications.\n\nhttp:\/\/i1243.photobucket.com\/albums\/gg541\/Peter_April\/sdfg_zpscxn2dnu9.jpg\n\nSources:\nhttp:\/\/news.mit.edu\/2016\/speedy-terahertz-based-system-could-detect-explosives-0520\nhttps:\/\/www.osapublishing.org\/optica\/abstract.cfm?uri=optica-3-5-499",
"json_metadata":" \"tags\":[\"news\",
\"science\",
\"technology\" ,
\"image\":[\"http:\/\/i1243.photobucket.com\/albums\/gg541\/Peter_April\/hfgfhg_zpsyx04hdfv.jpg\" " | vote | "voter":"logic", "author":"logic", "permlink":"revolutionary-new-quantum-cascade-laser-system-can-detect-bombs-at-airports-in-microseconds-news-in-science-and-technology", "weight":10000 |
