They have also been home-schooled from the start. My oldest went to Kindergarten for 2 weeks and that was enough. They have manners and can think for themselves. I feel that my job as their parent is to watch over them and help them if they need it but it is up to them to learn how to do things. I can not tell you how many of my peers complain they can not get their children to do anything or their children have bad attitudes. My children do their chores and show respect. They might not like it but they learned at a young age that being defiant will not be allowed. And before you think I spanked them to get them to cooperate I can count on one hand how many times I spanked them and still have fingers left over. Spankings were for serious things when they were little. Like running away from me in a parking lot. It left a clear statement that this was not allowed. And they never did it again. And when I did spank them it was never more than twice and to keep me from getting to angry and loosing control.
