I returned to my bench and covered my hat,<br> making it appear like a silvery saucer. I placed it on top my head,<br> then I covered my shoes and made gloves for my hands. \n\nI continued to sit with my hands in the air like praying in church or summoning gods from their thrones.\n\nTownspeople gathered on the other side of the street,<br> pointing and laughing. \n\nI knew I looked strange,<br> but I had promised myself to give it my all. In my studies I read that a coating of metal would make you receptive to alien transmissions,<br> or supernatural forces. \n\nI was desperate to make a connection,<br> to find purpose and meaning.\n\nBefore long I became tired and disheartened. I began to think the whole trip was a stupid idea. I mean think about it,<br> a grown man wrapped up in foil,<br> waiting for some kind of guidance. \n\nI was in the process of giving it up when two men,<br> who appeared to Greek Orthodox priests,<br> appeared on the sidewalk and started walking towards me. \n\nWhen they got to my bench they looked me square in my eyes and in unison said,<br> \u201cWe are Cyril and Methodius.\" \n\nI was amazed as they spoke. Their words were igniting over their heads in clouds of orange fire. \n\nA summer breeze fluttered their beards like scrolls of white parchment. \n\n\"We are all seekers\u201d they said. \n\nI was in shock and couldn't form questions.\n\nAs they began walking away the grit from the sidewalk popped under the soles of their black leather shoes. For a moment my eyes turned away; then when I looked back they were gone.\n\nI realized that this was the event I had come for; I mean WOW!,<br> their words turned to fire. \n\nFor a time I just sat and reflected on what had just happened; two men in robes speaking words of fire. \n\nI thought about what they had said and realized it wasn't enough. What did they mean when they said,<br> \"We are all seekers?\" I fought disappointment as I realized their message only raised questions. \n\n I sat there dejected. Then in dismay I pealed the foil from clothing and left.\n\nOn the way home I stopped to eat dinner in Waynesville,<br> Ohio. The sign at the edge of town said,<br> \u201dHome of the Sauerkraut Festival.\" I parked my car and walked towards a diner. \n\nA man was sitting on a bench holding wire coat hangers high in the air. \n\nI stopped and stood there before him until our eyes met; then I said,<br> \u201cI have visited Tents of Grace.\u201d \n\nI was looking deep in the wells of his eyes as I said it and could see my reflection. the words that I spoke had risen over my head and burned up in clouds of orange flames.\n\nhttps:\/\/i.imgsafe.org\/fb7266e4ec.jpg\n\n### Background\n\nThe mathematics of this story are true,<br> as is the story of Gnadenhutten,<br> Ohio.
