Once you have opened that up a little window should appear. I'm using windows 10 and the looks and features may vary on different operating systems.\n\n## Using snipping tool\n using snipping tool is very simple,<br> in fact it's that simple that i'm glad that this tool is the one i'm starting with.\nSO at the top you should see five options which are as follows:\n* **New** \n* **Mode**\n* **Delay**\n* **Cancel**\n* **options**\nNow lets go through each one starting with \n**New**\nclicking on this will let the program know you want to take a new screen shot and you will see the you screen change to a transparent white. Your screen is now ready to take images from and using your cursor you can simple select the area of chose.\n\n**Mode**\n This tab has a drop menu which when clicking reveals for different modes to use\n![4014497_en_1.png (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmZkugpamvwPLZpfGHQb9VFZJJY26djpPhN2kdrReeF7Ay\/4014497_en_1.png)\n* **Free-form snip**\nThis mode allows you to draw around the area you which to screenshot so if you wanted say a an icon but didn't want the things around it then free-form would be the option to use. Lets look at an example....\ntake this image and say i only wanted the house ![1_b1T9PtMK3bxboKvnSctNmg.jpeg (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmTQ7rsCxguJvtF82dJPtuar4zJGcyZhRoGe49gje3SVGm\/1_b1T9PtMK3bxboKvnSctNmg.jpeg)\n then i would select free form and click new and simply draw around it\n![free-form.PNG (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmYQEW7yz8121rVUdzWj1jvQeWCVTgNMr7ayDhgjTFZ2Zm\/free-form.PNG)\nNow just save the image created and there you go\n\n* **rectangular snip**\nThis is my favourite and i use this most often. when this mode is selected then click new and simply hold down your left mouse button and draw a rectangle over the area you want to screenshot then let go and you should have only what was in the rectangle as an image,<br> then simply save. Here is my example.....\n![highlight.PNG (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmRwBK2KiCiyKpgWuUUe7arhzrFCfYZ4aA7iGj4H5j9FSm\/highlight.PNG)\nAs you can see the pen has other colours and the highlighter is good for bigger areas and of course if you make a mistake then use the eraser.\n\n## How easy is that\nSo as you can see windows has created a simple tool for taken screenshots and is a great way of including things in your blog. I used it for 90% of this post and got great results.
