It's hump day!! Most of us in the US know this. However,<br> steem it is a community of people from all over the world so,<br> to explain it a little,<br> Wednesday is the middle of the work week for those of us that work Monday through Friday. Getting to Wednesday as like going uphill,<br> once we reach it we can see everything around us (like standing on a peak looking over the valley). From there it's easy,<br> like going downhill,<br> and smooth sailing to the weekend.\n\nIn the past,<br> I've highlighted Hawaiian artists but now I'll dedicate Wednesdays to them and it will be \"Hump Day Hawaiian Style.\" This week's artist is Kalapana. I saw them a few years ago for some special concert at the Hilton Hawaiian. I was familiar with a few of their songs and my wife wanted to go so we went. It was funny,<br> the more they played,<br> the more I realized I knew a LOT of their songs. ...shameless plug for [Hawaiian 105.1 KINE (http:\/\/www.hawaiian105.com) .... There's nothing like tuning the radio to it and enjoying the tunes. It's thanks to them playing Kalapana that I enjoyed myself so much! Of course,<br> the guys' banter was fun too as they gave a great show.\n\nThey [go back (https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kalapana_(band)) to the 70's playing in Hawaii Kai and,<br> funny enough,<br> didn't agree what \"Kalapana\" meant but stuck with the name. They played in more places throughout the Pacific and the West Coast,<br> opened for some big names,<br> and released a number of albums.
