Because a decentralised blockchain (like ethereum) has no central authority,<br> the information on a blockchain can't be falsified by a single entity. <\/p>\n<p>The first real use case of cryptocurrency was exchanging value,<br> Bitcoin is a good example of this which is basically a decentralised global digital currency. But a blockchain can be used for a variety of applications. Since any data,<br> not only transactions can be recorded on a blockchain. Ethereum is a good example of this,<br> which is a blockchain based decentralised computing system. You can program smart contracts (scripts) on ethereum that execute automatically and are indestructible. An equity token is basically a (very complex) smart contract build on a blockchain. A blockchain is designed to prevent attacks on the system making it very secure and reliable.<\/li>\n <li>Make transactions without the use of a third party. You can make transactions with another party without using an exchange or brokerage firm.<\/li>\n <li>Very transparent,<br> everything on the blockchain is publicly recorded an accessible for everyone to view. <\/li>\n <li>No censorship is possible.
