Plot-file in other words is a file which have to proof of capacity of your hard drive. So if you have 4TB drive you have to generate plot-file in 4TB size (or less) It takes some time. Fo i7 4690 about 24 hours. After that you can mine only use your hard drive. I don't have to say how energy efficient is it? If you have HDD farm you can mine solo (prefer 40TB+) or in pool if you have less HDD free space.\nBurst was released in 2014 so it is new coin. But in my opinion is one of the biggest undervalued and underestimated coin in crypto world.
