| comment | | "parent_author":"",<br>"parent_permlink":"photography",<br>"author":"alphaccino.art",<br>"permlink":"garden-detective",<br>"title":"Garden Detective",<br>"body":"View this post on Hive: [Garden Detective (https:\/\/peakd.com\/@alphaccino.art\/garden-detective)\n\n***\n\n# Found Fungi\n\n---\n\n![Imgur (https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/yyl5K0a.jpg)\n\n---\n\nThis odd little fellow was found growing in the dirt of my driveway.\n\nAbout 2 months prior to finding this one,<br> I'd found another growing nearby and on closer inspection,<br> was really suprised to find that it was quite hard to the touch,<br> like stone,<br> when I was expecting it to be soft and spongy,<br> like a mushroom.\n\nUsing references from [Canberra Nature Map (https:\/\/canberra.naturemapr.org\/Community\/Species\/Sightings\/8277),<br> I believe the species is called *Pisolithus Albus or White Dye-Ball Fungus belonging to a group of fungi commonly referred to as an Earth Balls*. \n\n*A mature Pisolithus fruit body is cylindrical to pear-shaped to globose in shape,<br> from just a few to over 20 centimetres in maximum length,<br> white to brown externally and with brown,<br> powdery spores present and exposed.
