How are you all? Today I'm telling you about the wonder of beauty in San Marino.

http://i64.tinypic.com/wk4f40.jpg

You would probably have heard of San Marino and possibly not given it another thought. That is unless you decided to take a vacation there. Aside from finance and industry,
San Marino relies quite heavily on the tourist dollar. With a population of a bit over thirty thousand,
San Marino is an absolutely tiny country and to be fair,
is quite tiny in terms of the area also (just over 24 square miles).

Officially The Republic of San Marino,
it is an enclaved microstate surrounded by Italy (except the parts that meet the lovely blue ocean of course). Of the 33,
000 or so residents,
almost 5,
000 are said to be Italian citizens. San Marino shares many conventions with Italy and is heavily influenced by the much larger neighbor. Perhaps one of the most notable of these influences is the currency,
with Italy,
not allowing San Marino to coin its own,
forcing them to use Italian instead. Mercifully,
they are allowed to print their own postage stamps… Also,
direct import of goods is forbidden and all goods from a third party must go through Italy first.

http://i67.tinypic.com/hsw86a.jpg

http://i67.tinypic.com/1z3xmqu.jpg

With those few negatives comes to a great many positives one might expect to accompany such a tiny and fortunate nation. San Marino residents enjoy a whole host of living conditions that are the envy of most of the planet. It is home to one of the highest life-expectancies on the planet as well as being one of the wealthiest in the world in terms of GDP. Its highly stable economy comes with one of the lowest unemployment rates in Europe,
no national debt,
and a budget surplus.

http://i65.tinypic.com/16aem2v.jpg

http://i63.tinypic.com/2cnw0tf.jpg

San Marino has the strange distinction of being the only country in the world where there are more vehicles than people,
with a reported 1,
263 cars per thousand people as of 2010. It has a few other distinctions too; it claims to be the oldest surviving sovereign state and constitutional republic in the world and is considered to have the earliest written constitution. Of course,
with one of the world’s smallest populations comes one of the planet’s tiniest military organizations too,
and the national military is generally the responsibility of the armed forces of Italy.

",
"tags":["travel",
"travelfeed",
"europe",
"blog",
"photography" ,
"image":["http://i64.tinypic.com/wk4f40.jpg",
"http://i67.tinypic.com/hsw86a.jpg",
"http://i67.tinypic.com/1z3xmqu.jpg",
"http://i65.tinypic.com/16aem2v.jpg",
"http://i63.tinypic.com/2cnw0tf.jpg" ,
"app":"steemit/0.1",
"format":"html" " |
