The second most popular sport in the world?",
"body":"https:\/\/s32.postimg.org\/la2003lpx\/dbbcd212_b9f0_4ff6_848b_5d589d14fdc6_2060x1467.jpg\n\nHow is no one on Steemit talking about this amazing game? \n\nFor the uninitiated,
here's what the game is like from the eyes of a batsman (think batter for baseball)\n\nhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WrvfMPrCcf0\n\nSee the second ball where the bowler (think pitcher) decides to knock the GoPro off his head? If you don't react quick enough (I mean I could barely see the ball,
it was that fast),
then sometimes that doesn't end too well for the batsmen despite wearing a helmet - RIP Phil Hughes :'( \n\nhttps:\/\/s32.postimg.org\/tepxc6mjp\/hughesblack_2223147g.jpg\n\nBut it's not all grim and fast and deadly,
there's plenty of fun as well in the sport. Here's part time cricketer Leverock of Bermuda taking a stunning one handed catch.\n\nhttps:\/\/s31.postimg.org\/hoo0zz7gr\/62933.jpg\n\nSo for those of you who don't know about the sport,
I'm hoping you take some time off your extremely busy schedules of trying to be a Pokemon Master and spend an afternoon just browsing the thousands of cricket videos on YouTube. Searching for great fielding,
fastest hundreds or a yorker compilation would be a neat start. \n\nFor the rest who do play and\/or follow the game,
lets make #cricket a thing!\n\nRank the four young guns in order (Tests),
here's my thoughts:\n\n#4 Virat Kohli\nI've got no doubt that someday he'll be the best Test batsman in the world. For now though,
his record in England will always leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth\n\n#3 Joe Root\nSeriously gifted cricketer. England's middle order is basically non existent without him. The only criticisms of him I have are that he regularly fails to convert his half centuries and that looks a bit like Ellen Degeneres. \n\n#2 Kane Williamson\nHis work ethic is insane and pretty much unparalleled. He's already got runs all over the world and if he keeps going there's no doubt in my mind that he's going to be up there with Crow and Hadlee as one of the best cricketers to ever come out of New Zealand.\n\n#1 Steve Smith \nAlthough I think he's the best out of the four at the moment,
I do think his technique will eventually be the undoing of him. At the moment though,
he's absolutely unstoppable,
especially in Australia. For those who trot out the argument of him being a flat track bully,
well what else is he supposed to do with what he's given? When presented the opportunity to bat in tougher conditions,
he's been phenomenal as well. Bit of a whinger,
but let's face it,
being Australian he can't help himself..\n\nYou may agree,
you may not. Just leave a comment and I'll be happy to get into a heated e-debate over it!\n\nhttps:\/\/i.guim.co.uk\/img\/static\/sys-images\/Guardian\/Pix\/pictures\/2015\/3\/30\/1427708868184\/6d4d4f6f-ee2a-406b-aa95-1782683458b5-2060x1373.jpeg?w=1010&q=55&auto=format&usm=12&fit=max&s=b37291cac63d7d7c6f49372818909c81",
"json_metadata":" \"tags\":[\"sport\",
\"cricket\",
\"cricketers\",
\"sports\",
\"\" ,
\"links\":[\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WrvfMPrCcf0\" " | vote | "voter":"idonteven", "author":"idonteven", "permlink":"cricket-the-second-most-popular-sport-in-the-world", "weight":10000 |
