The whole book of Psalms is full of prayers of worship and worship expressed by David. Let's look at Psalm 18: \"I love you,<br> O Eternal,<br> my strength. The Eternal,<br> my rock and my castle,<br> and my deliverer; My God,<br> my strength,<br> I will trust in him; my shield,<br> and the strength of my salvation,<br> my high refuge. David rejoiced and was filled with joy at the wisdom,<br> power and majesty of the exalted God. Today,<br> when tens of millions in our \"civilized\" western world worship the stars of rock and rap,<br> the \"idols\" of film and television and the celebrated figures of sport,<br> it is not fashionable to worship our Creator God as David adored him. Instead of worshiping such human,<br> vain and often disoriented \"stars,<br>\" why not give praise to the great God who gives us life and encouragement,<br> the \"Father of lights\" who,<br> as we have seen,<br> is the Giver of \"all good gift and every perfect gift \"? (James 1:17)\n\nWhy should we not truly worship Jesus Christ,<br> for whom God the Father created everything that exists? (see John 1: 1-3,<br> Colossians 1:16). Why not worship Him who \"emptied\" His divine glory in order to be a perfect example for us? (see Philippians 2: 7-9). Why not worship our faithful and merciful High Priest (Hebrews 2: 17-18),<br> who willingly died for us on the cross? Why not worship Him?\n\n\n<CENTER>![ (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmXhCHYQ6jT5epuijigiX51G7o99G6v11qpqbLiet9mp68\/image.png)<\/CENTER>\n\nIt is very true that we humans seek someone to admire ... but we commit the sin of idolatry if we pervert this desire by idolizing,<br> and even screaming rampant before those men or women who,<br> although famous,<br> reject God and have shameful and degenerate behaviors.\n\nWhat we should all do,<br> is to reorient that cult given to human heroes and idols,<br> to worship the Being that is really the most \"exciting\" of the universe: the Almighty God! We must visualize how God splattered the dark sidereal space with stars,<br> how he made the Earth,<br> put man in it and created us in his image to be his sons and daughters: brothers and sisters of Jesus forever (Romans 8:29) ! We must value every beautiful sunrise and sunset,<br> every moving work of art,<br> be it musical,<br> visual or literary,<br> every precious human being and the love and talent he possesses ... and understand that all this came from God! And that He has many things more prepared for us!\n\n\u00a0It is important that we give God thanks and praise every day for all that he gives us and for his help and blessing in every situation (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Instead of losing control in the midst of passionate emotions by sports figures,<br> rock stars or any other human \"idol\",<br> we spill our entire being in gratitude,<br> praise and adoration to the God who made us and gives us life and encouragement.
