You can find my article at .\nhttps:\/\/steemit.com\/india\/@utkarshvarma\/status-of-offshore-seismic-survey-in-india-for-oil-and-gas-exploration-for-india\n\nYesterday Schlumberger Q4 results were announced,
where in Chairman and CEO of Schlumberger announced the following:\n\n>\u201cWith the significant changes seen in customer priorities and buying habits in recent years,
we have also continued to evaluate the present and future return prospects for all of our product lines,
as we look to maximize all aspects of the Company\u2019s long-term financial performance. Based on this in-depth analysis,
the only product line that does not meet our return expectations going forward,
even factoring in an eventual market recovery,
is our seismic acquisition business. We have therefore taken the difficult decision to exit the marine and land seismic acquisition market,
and instead turn our WesternGeco product line into an asset-light business,
built on our leading position within multiclient,
data processing,
and geophysical interpretation services.\n\nSo,
after exit of Schlumberger,
there will be only 4 major international players,
Polarcus,
Shearwater and PGS,
CGG. Polarcus and PGS are not active in Indian market,
so leave only two international players active in India\n\n\nFull report at\nhttp:\/\/investorcenter.slb.com\/phoenix.zhtml?c=97513&p=irol-EventDetails&EventId=5266390\n\nSo,
after exit of Schlumberger,
there will be only 4 major international players,
Polarcus,
Shearwater and PGS,
CGG. Is there any opportunity for Indian investors for promoting Indian Marine Seismic Companies?\n\nSeismic Data Image: Taken from Google\n![seismic 1.PNG (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmTx8aQDwFrg6d31y9woEMy2jdZRSEYLyH1SVaCRMQXehb\/seismic%201.PNG) \n\n\n![seismic.PNG (https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmVfiRZeB9mwEyWcfPBfqz1RcbMZ6LMNWG68XbeVBzVu3W\/seismic.PNG)",
"json_metadata":" \"tags\":[\"india\",
\"oil\",
\"exploration\",
\"blog\",
\"opportunity\" ,
\"image\":[\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmTx8aQDwFrg6d31y9woEMy2jdZRSEYLyH1SVaCRMQXehb\/seismic%201.PNG\",
\"https:\/\/steemitimages.com\/DQmVfiRZeB9mwEyWcfPBfqz1RcbMZ6LMNWG68XbeVBzVu3W\/seismic.PNG\" ,
\"links\":[\"https:\/\/steemit.com\/india\/@utkarshvarma\/status-of-offshore-seismic-survey-in-india-for-oil-and-gas-exploration-for-india\",
\"http:\/\/investorcenter.slb.com\/phoenix.zhtml?c=97513&p=irol-EventDetails&EventId=5266390\" ,
\"app\":\"steemit\/0.1\",
\"format\":\"markdown\" " | vote | "voter":"utkarshvarma", "author":"utkarshvarma", "permlink":"oil-exploration-in-india-article-5-seismic-industry-status", "weight":10000 |
