(https:\/\/peakd.com\/@alphaccino.art\/an-exercise-in-aperture-and-depth-of-field)\n\n***\n\nThe inspiration for this weeks theme comes from a post,
read sometime over the past few days... but one that I'm unable to locate right now (*rolls eyes*). I would like to give credit where credit is due so I'll keep looking and update this section asap.\n\n*Edit: Found it > [Photography Tutorial - Photography for Beginners by @hetty-rowan (https:\/\/steempeak.com\/neoxian\/@neoxian-city\/photography-tutorial-photography-for-beginners-by-hetty-rowan)*\n\n---\n\n![Second Photo (Really wanted to add aperture settings here but my camera didn't record them... hmm) (https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/b0a8dlR.jpg)\n\n---\n\nOver the past few days,
I've read many,
many posts that caught my interest and one of those posts was a photography lesson about using aperture,
depth of field and getting familiar with the manual settings on your camera; something I've been meaning to do for a while now.\n\nThe author of the 'lost' post invited their readers to spend some time experimenting with different the manual settings in order to get a better understanding of how aperture works... and feeling like a bit of a challenge,
I felt inspired to use this as my photography theme for the next week.\n\nBoth these photos were taken late yesterday afternoon,
under an orange sky caused by bush-fires and smoke; but rather than pointing my camera directly at the sun,
I decided to hide behind some trees and have the glowing sky peeking through the leaves and branches.\n\n---\n\n![First Photo (https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/r4YRe1K.jpg)\n\n---\n\nMy position worked well as cover but as you can see in my first photo,
using the auto settings resulted in a really busy photo with everything in focus and no distinct focal point.\n\nRemembering the lesson,
I bravely changed my settings from **Auto** to **A** and pointed my camera towards the sun,
once again. To get the effect I was looking for,
I needed something in the foreground to focus on... and in hindsight,
I wish I'd spent the time looking for a more interesting leaf but,
you get that.\n\nAnyhoo,
apart from the plain foreground leaves,
I'm pretty happy with the results... it reminds me of a photo I took last year with a beautiful bokeh background and I've been wanting a reason to recreate that photo so I know I'll be trying this again.\n\nUntil next time... xxx\n\n
\n\nhttps:\/\/i.imgur.com\/u7Do3Kd.png\n\nThanks for stopping by and reading my post,
I really do appreciate your time.\n### And remember to keep smiling,
it makes people wonder what you're thinking...!\n\n
\n\nhttps:\/\/i.imgur.com\/VBf96Pj.png\n\nIf you enjoyed reading my post,
please follow,
comment and upvote.\nAll photos,
stories and graphics are my own work unless otherwise noted.\n\n
\n\nhttps:\/\/i.imgur.com\/nPCnREd.png\n\nhttps:\/\/i.imgur.com\/u7Do3Kd.png\n\nProudly representing\n\nhttps:\/\/i.imgur.com\/WGuBGxi.png\n\nhttps:\/\/i.imgur.com\/u7Do3Kd.png\n\nProud supporter of @steeming-hot\n\nhttps:\/\/cdn.steemitimages.com\/DQmdCimXD2sHmZFpicaiPQvLwHc8T9mbn1PmU5f9QgbsT4M\/steeming-hot-bot_small.png\n\n<\/center>\n",
"json_metadata":" \"app\":\"pruner\",
\"message\":\"See you on the other side!\" " |
