bodyI just wanted to ask this community about this topic as this is my main topic that i would post about in the future, the main goal of the Venus project is building a working society that can provide housing, food, education, transportation access to goods and services without using any barter system or debt, as we progressed with technology we no longer have 80% of our population work as farmers to produce basic food, in that time (when Columbus discovered Australia like 200 hundred years ago) there was real scarcity so how much physical work you done that how much money you would get but from then to now a days we have tremendous technological improvements and less then 2% of people doing farming jobs (at least at progressed country's) we have today enough technology to create abundance, the goods that abundant have less price in monetary system so we must make product scarce to maintain 200 years old monetary system, farmers sometimes get payed to produce less or destroy yields because the big retailers say we have too much we cant accept more so we could keep the price, on the other hand there are poor people, also we have planned obsolescence in our products our new smartphone get easy wear off and hard to repair and we take is as normal and many other problems that i wont talk now i will just post short ink to video about it : https://steemit.com/dtube/@tvpmechanist/c0yzbf1v I see this platform as start of process to get everyone abundant from what we like to do and talk about it and get some purchasing power from what we like to do later day this new incentive system will build the Venus project i am talking about hope to hear more voices about it as it will show we have strong community ![incentive.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYXGU636sPBJZYgcJbenqHM1DXHc1Dwg9k2bcMTE6anj7/incentive.jpg) have nice Steems you all :)

bodyThe Analysis of Verbal Behavior 1988, 6, 1-2 A Fable B.F. Skinner Harvard University It has recently been discovered that Daniel Defoe did not tell the whole story about Robinson Crusoe, probably because he did not think it would be believed. The fact is that through the operation of a kind ofWellsian time machine, Crusoe awoke one morning to f![VerbalBehavior.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmVLSrHFp6Bqab8UKCBxsKoPLQ2j9oaqiLbPCkg4n8gZ6t/VerbalBehavior.jpg)ind a modern jeep on his island. It was in good working order and had an inexhaustible tank of gasoline. Naturally he investigated it very carefully, pulling and pushing levers, twisting knobs, and pressing buttons. When he turned the ignition switch the motor started, and he hastily turned it off. He turned it on and off, again and again. Once, when he turned it on the jeep was in gear and jumped forward. Frightened, he quickly turned it off. On another day it did not jump. Eventually the jeep shaped and maintained everything Crusoe needed to do (not "to know!") to drive it skillfully over the unforested parts of the island. He "knew how to drive a jeep" simply in the sense that he did the right things at the right time. When Friday came to the island, Crusoe taught him to drive. Since Friday did not speak English, Crusoe could only point to parts ofthe jeep and model behavior for Friday to imitate. He turned the ignition on and off, and Friday did the same and heard the engine start and stop. He turned it on, pressed the clutch, and put the jeep in gear; Friday eventually did the same and felt the jeep move. Eventually Friday also drove skillfully. Crusoe had not "communicated information" or "imparted knowledge"; he had simply modeled behavior which, when imitated by Friday, was reinforced by the action of the jeep. Friday then also "knew how to drive" but, again, simply in the sense of doing all the right things. Whenthe rescue ship arrived, Crusoe happened to be on the far side of the island and did not see it, but the captain met Friday, saw the jeep, and was curious about it. Friday started to show him how to drive. Since he did not speak English, he could teach the captain only as Crusoe had taught him, by pointing and modelling. Crusoe soon arrived and took over. He pointed to parts of the jeep, as he had done with Friday, but he could also call them by the nearest names in English, and use words like twist, turn, push, and pull. He could tell the captain what happened when things were done. He could say, for example, "Whenyou twist the knob on the stem ofthe wheel, something in the wagon makes a noise, but don't twist it unless the stick with the knob on top is straight up." In other words, he could describe the contingencies of reinforcement maintained by the jeep, and by responding to those descriptions and instructions the captain came under the control of the jeep more quickly than Friday had done. Where Crusoe had shown Friday how to drive, he could tell the captain. Eventually the captain drove, not by responding to instructions, but as the jeep shaped and maintained his behavior. The captain then "knew how to drive," but again, simply in the sense of doingthe right things at the right time. Nothing had passed from Crusoe to the captain by way of knowledge or information. Crusoe also talked to himselfwhen he was first exploring the jeep. He could say, as he would say to the captain, "when you twist the knob on the stem of the wheel, something in the wagon makes a noise." He was not telling himself to do something he had not already done (not "known!"); he was prompting his own behavior rather than priming it. His responses to his own descriptions of the contingencies fused with responses shaped by the contingencies, and the combination more quickly reached a useful strength. Crusoe could also talk aboutthejeep when he was away from it. Lying in bed at night he could say, "The wagon moved only when 1 2 B.F. SKINNER the thing in the front part was making a noise" and also, "It made a noise onlywhen I twisted the knob." Putting these two responses together could have helped him to start the jeep more smoothly when he went to it again. Lying inbed Crusoe could also see thejeep as he saw it when he was in it, although much less clearly. What he was doing is not as easy to say, in part because behavior analysts have not paid much attention to seeingin the absence ofanything seen. In some extensive discussions on epistomology, Pere Julia and I found it useful to treat sensing or perceiving simply as an early part of responding, as "responding up to the point of action." Seeing an object when the object is not present is doing again what was done when itwas present. Itcanbe done when no action follows and without making or using copies ofwhat is seen. Crusoe could also feel himself twisting knobs and hearing noises up to the point of action. Covert verbal behavior has the advantage over covert nonverbal behavior in that it can be more fully executed. Talking to oneself is a kind of action. If Crusoe had written an account of the contingencies, it would have been still more useful. Writing supports verbal behavior as sketching supports visualizing. Crusoe could also have given himself the kind of help he gave Friday. There are contingencies which strengthen a kind of selfimitation. If, when we move something on our desk, something else moves some distance away, we are likely to repeat the movement and wait for the effect, as if we were asking ourselves, "Did I do that?" Ifnothing else happens, we have shown the consequence to be adventitious. If the same thing happens, we have confirmed our movement of the remote object as an operant in the literal sense ofmaking firm or strengthening. Similar behavior is sometimes seen in other primates. A move is made, an unusual consequence follows, and the move is immediately repeated. Thecontingencies ofsurvival responsible for the evolution of such selfimitation, however, are very different from the operant contingencies. The superiority of self-composed descriptions of contingencies over self-imitation is presumably one of the reasons why languages have evolved, and why they are transmitted from generation to generation as social environments or cultures.

Skinner Harvard University\nIt has recently been discovered that Daniel Defoe did not tell the whole story about Robinson Crusoe, probably because he did not think it would be believed. On another day it did not jump. bodyA Humanist Alternative to A.A.’s Twelve Steps A human centered approach to conquering alcoholism by R.B. Skinner Several people have told me that they turned to Alcoholics Anonymous for help but have been offended by its heavily religious character. In view of this, I have proposed a humanistic alternative to A.A.’s “The Twelve Steps.” I sent this version to Alcoholics Anonymous, suggesting that they offer it as an alternative for nonreligious members. I was not suggesting that they abandon their own twelve steps. I was told, however, that it would be impossible to change their practices without a majority vote of all Alcoholics Anonymous and was assured that many atheists and agnostics have found the original twelve steps helpful. Humanist counselors may, nevertheless, find an alternative version useful. Below are listed both “The Twelve Steps” of Alcoholics Anonymous and my suggested alternative: THE TWELVE STEPS 1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol… that our lives had become unmanageable. 2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. 3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. 4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. 5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. 6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. 7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. 8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. 9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure then or others. 10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. 11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we under-stood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs. THE HUMANIST ALTERNATIVE 1. We accept the fact that all our efforts to stop drinking have failed. 2. We believe that we must turn elsewhere for help. 3. We turn to our fellow men and women, particularly those who have struggled with the same problem. 4. We have made a list of the situations in which we are most likely to drink. 5. We ask our friends to help us avoid these situations. 6. We are ready to accept the help they give us. 7. We earnestly hope that they will help. 8. We have made a list of the persons we have harmed and to whom we hope to make amends. 9. We shall do all we can to make amends, in any way that will not cause further harm. 10. We will continue to make such lists and revise them as needed. 11. We appreciate what our friends have done and are doing to help us. 12. We, in turn, are ready to help others who may come to us in the same way. B.F. Skinner, 1972 Humanist of the Year, continues his research and writing at Harvard University. bodyJOURNAL OF APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS A THINKING AID B. F. SKINNER HARVARD UNIVERSITY Writing a paper is often a process of discovering what you have to say. A small, inexpensive, "threedimensional" outline of the paper is a help in guiding the process of discovery. New points can be accurately placed as they appear. The outline grows with the paper. The construction of such an outline is described. DESCRIPTORS: old age, verbal behavior, thinking, work output I used to say that I wrote and rewrote a paragraph until I could "think it all at once." At times I have felt that I could think a whole paper or chapter of a book all at once. After finishing Beyond Freedom and Dignity (1971), I took a short vacation during which, without the manuscript, I wrote short summaries of the chapters. When I ![111111111.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmPJGcTS3hUkr74ddscbNjPSVViYefuEQ32stToxaL4sKF/111111111.jpg)hapter all at once." That could not have been literally true, of course, but I had organized the material so tightly that I moved effortlessly from one part to another as I thought it. Something of the sort seems to happen in the shaping of complex behavior, as in figure skating, for example, or in responding to very complex presentations, as in becoming familiar with a book, painting, or piece ofmusic. The first time we read, say, The Brothers Karamazov, it consists of a sequence ofepisodes. After reading it several times we "know the book" in a different way. We see how its parts relate to each other and how consistently the characters behave. Dostoevsky himself, going over the manuscript many times, must have "thought it all at once" in a very special way. When we first see such a picture as Picasso's Guernica, it is little more than a collection of parts. As we become familiar with it, we see it as an organized whole. When we first hear a symphony it is a sequence of parts, but as we become familiar with it, one part leads easily to another, variations reveal Reprints may be obtained from B. F. Recently, when writing a paper, I felt that I was taking too much time to reach the point at which I could "think a paragraph," let alone a whole paper, at once. Age was no doubt relevant. Old people forgetthings much more quickly than young people do. In moving from one part of a paper to another, might I not be carrying too little ofit with me and hence not accumulating as much of it as a whole as I once did? I decided that something must be done, and I built several prosthetic devices, which have worked so well that I wish I had had them when I was younger. Two ofthem are shown in Figure 1. I begin with a plastic panel-one side cut from a three-ring binder, for example. I fasten cards (5 by 8 in.) on the panel, using short strips ofmasking tape as hinges. I put the first card at the lower right-hand corner of the panel with the red line near the bottom, and add tape at the top edge. The hinge holds thecard more securely ifa ballpoint pen is run firmly along the tape at the edge of the card. I put a second card slightly to the left, with its lower edge on the red line of the first. Eight or ten cards reach the left-hand edge of the panel. I number the cards with a bold black pen and enter descriptive tides on the exposed edges. When the cards are opened, as in the panel at the right, numbers and titles are also entered along the exposed edges. I bend the lower left-hand corner of each card slightly upward so that a fingernail lifts it easily. Before beginning a paper, I have usually collected notes, clippings, references, and other ma 379 1987,20,379-380 NUMBER4 (WINTER 1987) 380 B. F. SKINNER .- 9 F 1 t n Figure 1. A thinking aid. terials. I group these in sections and put the sections in some kind oforder. I give each section a number and assign it to a card. I enter subdivisions on each section of the rest of the card and number them decimally. As new material turns up, it is easy to find a place for it on the appropriate card. When a card becomes crowded I remove it (peeling the tape from the panel) and put a fresh one in its place. As better orders appear, I rearrange the cards. When I sit down to work on a paper in progress, I first read the exposed entries-a matter of a few seconds. If that is not enough to give me a "feel" ofthe paper, I read some ofthe cards. As the paper develops, it becomes obvious that gaps need to be filled, that some sequiturs are non, that some parts are in the wrong place, that some parts are in the wrong paper, that some parts are too briefand need to be lengthened and others too long and need to be shortened. In this way I keep the paper, not "in mind," but in front of me as a complex object on which I am at work. Most of this can be done before writing a sentence but, ofcourse, sentences begin to appear, and sections are written. I collect them in a ring binder with dividers corresponding to the cards on the panel. I do not write the paper from beginning to end; I work on any part of it that happens to be especially interesting at the time. Slowly the paper comes into existence. I could not have predicted any of it when I started to write. I began with an assigned subject matter, of course, and something of what other writers had said about it may have been important, but the thinking aid has given my verbal and nonverbal histories the best chance to make themselves felt. The paper has evolved. In that sense I have discovered what I had to say (Skinner, 1981). Something of the sort can be done with a computer, of course, but the panel is easier to slip into a briefcase or carry to the breakfast table or an easy chair. REFERENCES Skinner, B. F. (1971).
