As a good soul, I would like to think it was the former, a fantastic act of generosity on behalf of the casino. It doesn’t. Unless you have millions to pump into FB ads, even pretty successful marketers need to work on their brand just about every day in order to grow and maintain a meaningful audience. Whilst I have been successful at this, it can be pretty demanding on time.\n\nI recently got into crypto trading, and it should come with a health warning, because it is very addictive. I decided to put my effort into crypto for a year or so just to see what happens, so decided to shut down or slow down my other online activities: andywood.com, digitalagencytoolkit.com and my Evil Marketers Group on FB, so that I can immerse myself into crypto trading.\n\nI stumbled across Steemit.com and thought it would be interesting to see what appetite there is for the kind of posts I used to put on my blog. It’s a kind of half-way house between my old marketing life and my new crypto life. As I gather more crypto experience I guess I will add more crypto-related posts. I started cryptomarketexaminer.com as a home for my trading ‘adventures’ but as I am at the very early stages, this site is mainly market stats based stuff.\n\nAnyway, having had you pull me up on my handful of posts, I have now restored my andywood.com blog and will add the links to the original posts as requested.\n\nHope this helps\n\nCheers",

If you haven’t been to Soho, you should give it a try if you are ever in the UK. It’s not to everyone’s taste but if you like vibrant, bustling places with lots of bars and clubs, it’s definitely the place for you.\n\nAs I walked my usual walk, a quick pace, and head up, taking in the surrounding sights, I noticed a big poster stuck on the inside of the window of a casino. We’ll I say casino but it wasn’t really a casino, more of a gambling arcade. You know what I mean, a small place with a collection of slot machines pinging and flashing in such a way to entice you to feed it your hard-earned coin.\n\nThe posted was a simple affair, white background, and big black lettering you could only miss if you were blindfolded.\n\n“Free Hot Soup and Bread Roll”\n\nI kept on walking, but the simple message struck a chord with me. On my way home that day I sat on the train and thought about that poster.\n\nWas this a supreme act of generosity to the local community, offering soup and bread for free, or was it actually a cynical ploy to draw unsuspecting punters into their web. As a good soul, I would like to think it was the former, a fantastic act of generosity on behalf of the casino. But the Evil Marketer side of me can’t help admire the possible alternative motive behind the offer.\n\nCialdini has taught us that when someone gives us something, we are predisposed to feel a need to repay our debt to that person (reciprocity). So a free soup and sandwich may get repaid by popping a few coins in a machine. \n\nBut there could also be a deeper, darker side to this offer.\n\nResearch has shown that people make decisions that are heavily influenced by their current emotions.
