      "body": "![KakaoTalk_2018-01-15-12-16-15_Photo_90.jpeg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmcRqtRtoJRwVCi6qrGgoRcxbqhiUipyNtfSFnTJDpfwxX/KakaoTalk_2018-01-15-12-16-15_Photo_90.jpeg)\n\n 오늘의 포스팅은 존 버거의 「다른 방식으로 보기(Ways of seeing)」를 제 방식대로 정리한 것입니다. 이 책은 총 7개의 장으로 구성되어 있으며 따라서 총 7개의 포스팅을 올릴 계획입니다. 오늘은 제 1장에 대한 정리입니다.\n\n1.\n 성경은 말한다. 태초에 말씀이 있었다. 존 버거의 ⌜다른 방식으로 보기⌟는 이를 비튼다. 말 이전에 보는 행위가 있다. 인간의 모든 지각은 ‘시각’ 곧 ‘보기’에 의존한다. 인간은 본다는 행위를 통해 세상은 지각한다. 지각은 곧 나와 내가 바라 본 가시적 세계의 관계를 알게 한다. 내가 세상을 보듯이 세상도 나를 본다. 또한 '보기'를 통해 세계를 감각한다. 이를 통해 인간은 시각 이미지를 매개로 한 예술을 창조하게 된다. \n\n예술로서의 시각 이미지는 인간이 지각한 어떤 존재를 자신의 방식으로 창조한 것이다. 그러므로 인간이 예술로서 창조한 시각 이미지는 필연적으로 모두 만들어진 이미지이며 원래의 존재 그대로가 아니다. 회화 이미지와 마찬가지로 사진 이미지도 이 혐의를 피할 순 없다. 사진 역시 촬영자의 의도가 담기기 때문이다. 사진은 순간에 대한 작가의 선택이 담긴 이미지이다. \n\n 애초에 시각 이미지가 기록을 위해 만들어진 것이라면 결국 문제는 무엇을 기록할 것인가의 문제로 전환되고 만다. 기록되어도 좋은 것. 다른 사람이 봐주었으면 하는 것. 이것은 곧 가시적 세계에 대한 시각 이미지가 무엇에 의해 영향을 받고 있는지 알려준다. 바로 당시 지배 계급의 이데올로기이다. 기록으로 남겨질 만한 가치가 있다고 판단되는 이미지는 지배 계급에 봉사한다. 지배 계급에 봉사함으로써 그 시각 이미지는 그 가치를 인정받고 보존될 수 있는 것이다. 여기서 지배 계급은 아마도 교회이거나 봉건 영주, 왕실 정도가 적당하다. 결국 과거의, 서구를 중심으로 한 미술-우리가 작품이라고 일컫는-은 지배 계급의 역할을 정당화하는데 그 쓰임을 다한 것일지도 모른다. \n\n 좀 더 자세히 들어가서, 과거 서구 회화의 가장 큰 특징은 바로 ‘원근법’이다. 원근법은 회화 이미지가 현실성을 지니고 있다고 말할 수 있는 가장 큰 근거이다. 원근법은 캔버스의 중앙을 중심으로 질서를 형성한다. 즉 관찰자를 중심으로 캔버스 내의 중심은 형성되고 관찰자는 이내 세상의 중심이 되어버린다. 하지만 책에서도 지적하듯이 카메라는 세상 어디에도 중심이 없다는 것을 보여주었다. \n\n그리고 사진은 회화가 가지고 있는 유일성, 원본만이 가지고 있는-벤야민의 용어를 빌리자면-아우라가 상실되었다. 그런데 회화 작품의 아우라는 세상의 유일무이한 원본이라는 특징에서만 발현되는 것은 절대적으로 아니다. 오히려 그 작품이 유일하기 때문에 오직 그 작품을 가지고 있는 단 한 사람이 지불한 ‘시장 가격’이 아우라를 형성한다. 복제가 가능해진다면 그 아우라는 상실될 것처럼 보인다. 그렇지만 예상과 다르게 그 작품이 시장에서 가지고 있는 매력은 변하지 않았다. 시각 예술 이미지의 복제는 예술을 모두에게 향유 가능하게 만들었고 과거 지배 계급이 공유하던 시각 예술 이미지의 효과까지 공유하게 만들었다.",

      "body": "S는 새해를 맞아 오랜만에 옷장 정리를 한다. 옷장 좌표 (0,10)쯤에 있는, 작년에 입던 바지를 입어본다.  지퍼가 올라가질 않는다. 도저히 입을 수가 없다. 바지가 S를 온 몸으로 거부하고 있다. 작년에는 살짝 여유가 있기까지한 바지였다.\n\nS는 체중계에 올라가본다. 여기서 만나는 참혹하고 냉정한, 처음보는 숫자들. 마치 망쳐버린 시험 성적표에 찍힌 점수처럼 얼얼하고 끔찍하기 짝이없다. \n\n'이건 고장난 게 분명해'\n\n 다시 올라가 보니 오히려 200g이 늘었다. 200g의 절망이 더 얹어졌다.\n\nS는 생각해본다. 숫자 하나로 인간은 얼마나 많은 부정적 감정을 느낄 수 있는가. 카드값이 빠져나간 통장의 잔고, 몇 달째 제자리 걸음인 토익 점수, 채워지지 않는 자소서의 글자 수 . 숫자는 단지 적혀 있는 그대로 인간을 찍어버린다. 그런데 지금 이 순간, S에게는 체중계에 뜬 숫자만큼 자신을 비참하게 만드는 것은 없다. \n\nS는 다이어트를 결심한다. 체중계가 준 고통만큼 체중계가 보람을 주었으면 좋겠다고 생각하면서 말이다. 그런데 S는 이 결심이 결국 물거품이 될 것임을 안다. 그리고 이런 생각을 또 하겠지라고 생각한다. 사실 예전에도 이랬을지 모르는 일이다.",
