      "body": "Staying up on the maintenance for your vehicle is important but one of the simplest and easily over looked is your oil changes.\n\nHave you caught yourself thinking, I have to get that done! …… days, weeks, or months later, still haven’t done it. This very simple yet important maintenance task can go from a simple oil change ($40 average) to $4,000 for a new motor. Plus keeping up on your oil changes make your engine happy and will help it last for many, many years. \n\nThis may come naturally to some people. They pay close attention to their vehicles and love them like a member of the family, for others not so much. It’s just something to get them from point A to point B and not much else. \n\nI had someone tell me that you don’t have to change the oil in Toyota’s! Unfortunately that is NOT true. The engine in their vehicle didn’t agree also and gave out a week later. So another week later and $,$$$, they were down the road with a new motor. \n\nFor you DIY and non-DIY people, periodically checking your oil level is a simple task everyone should do.\n\nFor the DIY folks oil changes are simple and shouldn’t take much longer the 15 or 20 minutes. Afterwards you may be inquired to take on more tasks. \n\nMaterials you will need. \n1.\tDrain plug gasket\n2.\tOil filter\n3.\tOil\n4.\tFunnel\n5.\tA catch pan to catch the oil with\n6.\tDisposable gloves. You will get oil on you\n\nTools\n1.\tWrench to remove drain plug\n2.\tOil filter wrench to remove oil filter\n\nAlways check your owner’s manual if you don’t know what oil your vehicle takes. Your owner manual will also have a reset procedure if your vehicle is new enough to have an oil change reminder light.\n\nHere's how i do it: \nBefore you start you want the engine warm. If its been sitting let it run for 5 minutes to warm up. If its very hot, let it cool down for a few minutes. You dont want to get burned!\n\nA Couple Tips; \nIf your vehicle is low to the ground you may have to jack it up. If you do, remember to put jack stands underneath to support the vehicle. \nThe engine must be off when checking the oil level. \nUse the right size wrench to remove the drain plug.\nI will also remove the oil filler cap before i start the oil change. \n\n\n<a href=\"http://tinypic.com?ref=2cneash\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://i68.tinypic.com/2cneash.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image and video hosting by TinyPic\"></a>\nLocate the drain plug and oil filter. (Above) Here you can see i have loosened the drain plug and some oil is starting to spill out. You can also see the black colored oil filter, upper center of picture. \n\n\n<a href=\"http://tinypic.com?ref=so1ocy\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://i68.tinypic.com/so1ocy.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image and video hosting by TinyPic\"></a>\nPut your catch pan underneath the drain plug to catch the oil. Remove the drain plug and let the oil run out till you get a trickle. Put your new drain plug gasket on the drain plug and install the drain plug.  \n\n\n<a href=\"http://tinypic.com?ref=316s2up\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://i64.tinypic.com/316s2up.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image and video hosting by TinyPic\"></a>\nThen move your catch pan under the oil filter and remove the oil filter. (This is were it can get messy) You may need your oil filter wrench to get it loose and some you can loosen with you hand. These are spin on filters. \nLubricate the new oil filter gasket, black rubber ring around the top side of the filter, with some oil. Dip your index finger into your new oil and run it around the oil filter gasket. Then install the new filter. \n\n<a href=\"http://tinypic.com?ref=2d9xrmd\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://i67.tinypic.com/2d9xrmd.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image and video hosting by TinyPic\"></a>\nPut your funnel in the filler hole and pour your new oil in. This is a specific funnel for this vehicle, but any funnel will do! If your not sure how much oil to put in you can add some and check the dipstick. Then keep adding small amounts at a time till it gets to the FULL mark on the dip stick. Everytime you check the oil level remember to remove the dipstick and wipe it clean first. Then stick it back into the dipstick tube and pull it back out. What do you see? \n<a href=\"http://tinypic.com?ref=2v7ypon\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://i67.tinypic.com/2v7ypon.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image and video hosting by TinyPic\"></a>\n<a href=\"http://tinypic.com?ref=xayzbm\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://i67.tinypic.com/xayzbm.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image and video hosting by TinyPic\"></a>\nThe mark between the (L)-LOW and the (F)-FULL is 1 quart of oil. Some vehicle's will just have a dot for low and a dot for a full. Above you can see a dipstick with no oil on it and one with oil to the (F) mark. \n\nStart up the vehicle, get out, and look underneath for any leaks. If all is in good, shut off the vehicle and check the oil level. Most will find you may have to add a little more oil. This is normal.\n\n\nA frequent question I get from people is they want to put the latest and greatest oil in their engine and what do I think. \nI tell them no. Newer vehicle use oil pressure to control several component’s inside the engine. Putting in something other than the manufacturer’s recommended oil grade can cause these components to operate improperly or fail.       "body": "If you like warm and sunny this is your place. This is our trip to Oahu. We spent 4 days travelling the island and sightseeing. You can travel the whole island in one day, it’s not that big. They have different busses running the island so you can go just about anywhere. It’s beautiful here. Definitely a place I would move to.  \n \n\nWe did learn a few things about the island. It is very touristy. Most people are familiar with Waikiki beach and this side of the island. The airport and Pearl Harbor is on this side of the island. This is where the fine dining and shopping is. But if you want to get the Hawaiian feel you need to get up to the north shore. I wish we would have spent more time on the north shore but we were pushed on time, we tried to do too much. \nA couple of thing I would recommend if you visit Oahu,\n\n1.\tGo to a Luau! Obviously!\n2.\tPearl Harbor\n3.\tPolynesian center\n4.\tDiamond head\n5.\tSwap meet at aloha stadium\n6.\tGo to the north shore\n7.\tAnd enjoy yourself. Take some surf lessons or go scuba diving. \n\nI know there are so many things you can do. My name is Justin and I’d like to start off with a quick introduction about me and how I got here.\n\nI came across an article about steemit and it caught my attention so I had check it out. I’ve seen lots of great stuff on here over the last week and decide its time to get involved. I’m still learning about steem and how it works. If you have some information on how it works, sent it my way!\n\nI live in a little town in Southern Oregon called Grants Pass. I was born and raised here. It’s a great place! Great community! I’m 27 years old. Husband, Father and brother. I love planes and when I was young my dream was to fly. It didn’t work out. I’m a mechanic at a local dealership. I still get caught up looking at planes and even took private flying lessons to get me license. I now spend most of my time with my family and friends.\n\n<a href=\"http://tinypic.com?ref=qrhndl\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://i65.tinypic.com/qrhndl.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image and video hosting by TinyPic\"></a>\n\nI’ve been with my wife for 10 years now. We’ve been married for 5 of those years. She was my high school sweetheart. She’s a great woman and wonderful mom. She’s a preschool teacher and is amazing with kids! Im lucky to have her! \n\nWe have two awesome kids. My daughter Lauren is 5. My son Kaden is 2. They are at that age where things around the house are starting to get crazy. And busy! \n\n<a href=\"http://tinypic.com?ref=2wg8400\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://i67.tinypic.com/2wg8400.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image and video hosting by TinyPic\"></a>\nTrying to get them to take a picture together is almost impossible!  You other parents out their probably know what I mean.\n\nPeople always ask since I’m a mechanic how many cars do I have.  Normally 4-5 at a time. Right now I have 4. I do have a classic car that is awesome. It’s a 1970 Mini Cooper. I found this car at a garage sale. It didn’t run when I got it. A couple of quick fixes and it runs like a top. I drove it home from the garage sale! Should have seen the owners face! And yes, I got a good deal!\n\n<a href=\"http://tinypic.com?ref=34pyzq0\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http://i64.tinypic.com/34pyzq0.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image and video hosting by TinyPic\"></a>\n\nWe love to entertain and have people over.
