      "body": "![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYzpHorRpTLTtGV3oiEuVwXVGkq9v5gn5S1ir1FtWPgir/image.png)\n\nAl reflexionar sobre la disciplina elegida para desarrollarse profesionalmente, en la carrera de Diseño Gráfico puede surgir el interrogante sobre su identificación con el arte y analizando se descubren coincidencias y también singularidades diferentes.\n \n \nLa propuesta de la asignatura de Práctica Profesional III era reflexionar sobre temas vinculados a la disciplina del diseño y plantear posibles campos de acción. Promediando su tercer año de la carrera de Diseño Gráfico, Lorena Castillo Ríos decidió investigar sobre la auténtica esencia de la disciplina elegida para desarrollar una trayectoria profesional y analizar si acaso se identificaba con el arte, en cuanto se lo entiende como bellas artes.\nLos pasos de la investigación de Lorena son los siguientes:\n\nEl DISEÑO GRÁFICO ¿ES ARTE?\n\n- INTRODUCCION\nEl punto de partida para desarrollar esta tesina surge frente a la necesidad de responder a la pregunta sobre si el diseño es arte o no. Para llegar a una posible respuesta comenzaremos plasmando y analizando el significado de arte, citando ejemplos. Para luego hacer lo mismo con el significado diseño gráfico ahondando en la profundidad concreta a lo que la actividad refiere. A partir de las definiciones de cada área se pondrá en común y se analizarán similitudes y diferencias que se encuentran entre ellas. Como consecuencia del desarrollo de estos tres aspectos se desembocará en una conclusión final.\n\n- DEFINIENDO ARTE\nSegún la Real Academia Española, la palabra Arte deriva latín ars, artis y su significado está en relación con la capacidad, habilidad para hacer algo, y a una manifestación humana mediante la cual se interpreta lo real o se plasma una idea con recursos plásticos.\nPero para poder llegar a una definición más concreta de qué es arte, debemos tener en cuenta que esta definición está atravesada por las múltiples interpretaciones que varían según las diferentes culturas y los períodos históricos sociales.\nEstos factores hacen que su definición no pueda ser enmarcada completamente y que quede de cierta manera abierta a diferentes interpretaciones. Es por eso que su definición comienza a desestabilizar ya que el vocablo arte, no solo puede aplicarse a una expresión personal, sino que también puede utilizarse como sinónimo de capacidad, de talento en múltiples áreas, por eso en muchas ocasiones se habla de arte culinario, artes marciales, entre otros.\nSi hablamos de artes plásticas, la historia nos muestra que las encargadas de definir qué era arte de lo que no, eran las Escuelas Tradicionales de Artes, los Críticos de Arte, etc. A medida que fue pasando el tiempo estos límites se fueron ensanchando hasta llegar al Arte Contemporáneo en donde el propio artista es el que define qué es arte, muchas veces convirtiéndose él mismo en obra de arte. Así la definición de arte ya no está en manos exclusivas de los Críticos de Arte, de los Museos o de las Escuelas de Arte.\nEn este punto la definición de arte comienza a ser más compleja y pareciera ser que no existe una definición única de arte que abarque de manera general el propio término.\n\n\n- DEFINIENDO DISEÑO GRÁFICO\nSegún la Real Academia Española, el significado de la palabra Diseño proviene de la palabra italiana disegno. En cuanto a su significado está relacionado con una traza o delineación, con un proyecto o plan que configura algo, y con una concepción original de un objeto u obra destinados a la producción en serie. Mientras que la palabra Gráfico, se refiere a representar mediantes figuras o signos. Hasta aquí se podría decir que Diseño Gráfico sería un plan o proyecto de algo destinado a la producción en serie, logrado mediante figuras o signos.\nEn este caso, tampoco podemos obviar que el concepto de diseño también guarda relación con la cultura, lo histórico y lo social. Esta definición académica queda acotada para la actividad concreta que propone el diseño gráfico.\nFrascara propone un concepto de diseño refiriéndose al proceso de programar, proyectar, coordinar, seleccionar y organizar factores y elementos que originan un objeto destinado a producir comunicación visual. Este concepto lo amplía al referirse que es mucho más descriptible el término de diseño de comunicación visual. Se incluyen así los tres elementos requeridos para definir esta actividad: un método: el diseño; un objetivo: la comunicación, y un medio: la visión. Así se podría decir que el diseño de comunicación visual es una actividad que concibe, programa, proyecta y realiza comunicaciones visuales, producidas en general por medios industriales destinadas a transmitir mensajes específicos a grupos determinados. Este concepto, comparándola con lo que propone la real Academia Española, abarca y toma en consideración aspectos que hacen a la actividad del diseñador gráfico. Así podemos lograr tener un concepto preciso de lo que significa diseño gráfico.\n\n- SIMILITUDES Y DIFERENCIAS\nComo vimos anteriormente el diseño gráfico está destinado a resolver visualmente problemas de comunicación planteados por un cliente. A diferencia del arte, pareciera ser que en esta disciplina la expresión personal del diseñador no entraría en juego. Mientras que el arte pareciera ser una expresión personal visual de su creador con el fin de provocar algo en su espectador y destinado muchas veces a ser arte por sí mismo. Hasta aquí y con estos conceptos, ambas disciplinas quedarían por siempre separadas.\nPero estos aspectos no son absolutistas. Un diseñador no puede ser del todo objetivo, porque al tomar determinadas decisiones frente a una pieza de diseño, entran en juego las propias connotaciones del diseñador. Mientras que un artista muchas veces trabaja para determinados clientes; según la historia del arte, los clientes de los artistas eran quienes le solicitaban las obras, como por ejemplo los mecenas, incluso estos solicitaban modificar aspectos de sus propias obras. En efecto el artista también tiene que tratar con un cliente. Esto ocurre porque, al igual que el diseño gráfico, el arte está sometido a un mercado.\nOtra área que comparten es el espacio en donde pueden verse expuestas estas disciplinas. Tantos las obras de arte como las piezas de diseño comparten ámbitos de divulgación, como por ejemplo los museos. Entonces, ¿es que el diseño se vuelve arte?, ¿o que el arte se hace diseño? El diseño se trasforma en arte cuando pasa a la historia y es observado desde esa perspectiva, vaciándola de la función comunicadora inicial; por eso muchas piezas de diseño pueden verse en estos ámbitos; son valoradas desde el punto de vista de su composición, del color, de la técnica empleada, etc. Tanto artistas como diseñadores crean composiciones visuales usando una base de conocimiento compartido, ambos requieren habilidad y están basados en el lenguaje visual. No solo comparten medios de divulgación, sino que en ocasiones comparten medios de producción. Hoy en día el arte está cada vez más vinculado a la producción, hay artistas que realizan obras para ser expuestas en galería y museos pero, a su vez, generan piezas pensadas para ser reproducidas en medios industriales asociados a áreas del diseño.\nEn estos puntos hay un entrecruzamiento de aspectos que en un principio parecieran bien definidos para cada área, pero que resultan compartidos para ambas.\nPor otro lado, el desarrollo de nuevas tecnologías, analógicas y digitales, aportan tanto para el arte como al diseño, un nuevo territorio donde proyectarse. El movimiento, el espacio y el tiempo son la base material de nuevos formatos artísticos y de diseño. Nuevamente ambas disciplinas comparten espacios de comunicación.\nUn aspecto en donde se observan una marcada diferencia es que una obra de arte supone un mensaje en el cual cada espectador construye su propio significado. Mientras que el resultado de una pieza de diseño gráfico requiere que haya un mensaje único para ser entendido por el público a quien va dirigido. Ambos transmiten mensajes, pero mientras que en diseño gráfico el mensaje es único, en el arte puede haber múltiples mensajes tanto como espectadores.\n\n- CONCLUSIÓN\nEl arte y el diseño comparten campos estéticos, visuales, de divulgación. La confusión de que el diseño es arte surge a partir de estos campos compartidos. No podemos negar que el diseño se enriquece al observar el arte, que aprende de este y viceversa. De hecho nació de éste. De ahí la dificultad de delimitar claramente los límites de cada uno frente a una necesidad de alejarlos en polos opuestos. Además debemos considerar que el diseño gráfico abarca y trabaja con múltiples disciplinas. El tratar de apartar ambos términos solo hace que ambas disciplinas pierdan capacidad de enriquecimiento. Tenemos que considerar, que así como el artista puede diseñar piezas gráficas, muchos diseñadores gráficos pueden crear obras de artes. Lo que no significa que todas las obras de arte sean diseño, ni que todos los diseños sean arte. Lo que debe entenderse es que esto se da porque comparten el lenguaje visual, el campo en el que se desarrollan. Los dos crean mensajes visuales, pero uno intenta determinar un único mensaje para un público determinado; mientras que el otro origina múltiples mensajes tantos como espectadores haya. Así como el diseño se inmiscuye en campos propios del arte, el arte también lo hace en espacios propios del diseño. Por eso intentar separarlos a toda costa como si fueran dos entes completamente diferentes es en vano. Lo más enriquecedor de esto es la posibilidad de aprendizaje que puede lograrse entre una disciplina y la otra.\nAhora bien, ¿es el diseño el que se apropia de los terrenos del arte?... o ¿es el arte quien se apropia de la concepción industrial y comercial del diseño?... The steps of the investigation of Lorraine are the following ones: \n\n\nThe GRAPHICAL DESIGN IS IT AN ART? - INTRODUCTION The point of item to develop this tesina arises opposite to the need to answer to the question on if the design is an art or not. To come to a possible response we will start by taking form and analyzing the meaning art, mentioning examples. Then to do the same thing with the important graphical design going deeply into the concrete depth to what the activity recounts. From the definitions of every area it will put jointly and there will be analyzed similarities and differences that they find between them. Since consequence of the development of these three aspects one will end in a final conclusion.\n\n- DEFINING ART According to the Royal Spanish Academy, the word Art derives Latin ars, artis and his meaning is in relation with the capacity, skill to do something, and to a human manifestation by means of which the royal thing is interpreted or an idea takes form with plastic resources. But to be able to come to a more concrete definition from what is an art, we must bear in mind that this definition is crossed by the multiple interpretations that change according to the different cultures and the historical social periods. These factors do that his definition could not be framed completely and that it stays of certain way opened for different interpretations. It is because of it that his definition begins to destabilize since the word art, not only it can be applied to a personal expression, but also it can be in use like synonymous of capacity, of talent in multiple areas, because of it in many occasions speaks itself of culinary art, martial arts, between others.\n\n\nIf we speak about plastic arts, the history shows us that the managers of defining what was an art of what not, they were the Traditional Schools of Arts, the Critics of Art, etc. As the time was spending these limits they were expanding up to coming to the Contemporary Art where the own artist is the one that defines what is an art, often turning he itself into work of art.
