bodyYou might have trouble believing this. I did! I figured I was about 35lbs overweight and frankly I was pissed off at myself. I felt like crap and was having trouble with my joints aching frequently. I didn't feel like doing much physical activity and things just continued to get worse. I started doing a lot of research and finally decided to try the Keto diet. Being a guy who likes his meat, cheese and eggs, I figured it would be easier because on Keto you can eat these things. So I started yet again on a diet! That was 3 months ago and I was 222lbs the day I started. The key seemed to be to go hard-core for a week to get into ketosis. For those who are not familiar with that it goes like this: Our culture has turned into a heavily processed fast food and carbohydrate rich diet. It is partly due to government guidelines about what we should eat so it is not 100% our own fault. As a result, we tend to have a carbohydrate rich diet. The problem is that carbs turn immediately into sugar and the body uses the sugar for energy while then storing any fat in our diet (usually on you gut, thighs and ass). The Keto diet is designed to teach you body to use fat for energy instead of carbs (sugar). The way you teach your body to switch to burning fat is to eat food that is processed into Keytones. Keytones are what fat is turned into when you eat it. The keytones are pure energy and the bonus is they burn evenly instead of giving you the highs and lows of sugar energy. Having explained this I should throw in a disclaimer. I am not in any way giving anybody any advice and my above description may not be precise. I am only telling you what i myself have learned and experienced. So here is what happened over 2.5 months. Step 1 I convinced my wife to support me on my new diet. BTW that was a hard one as she loves her carbs! Then I found a bunch of foods I could eat to get into keytosis and went shopping. I bought some organic coconut oil (you can find it in most grocery stores) and I bought things like fish, meats, dry cheeses, eggs, green veggies (spinach, asparagus, brocoli, sweetpotato, etc.) and even some berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries). Step 2 I registered my starting weight (222lbs). Except for some occasional berries and veggies, I cut out most of the carbs. Step 3 I started having bacon and eggs, cheese snacks with a bit of sausage, fish, lean steak and pork and other foods I may have left out. I was eating as much as I wanted so believe me I was not starving. It is important to know that your body produces some carbs all by itself, plus you get some from the healthy veggies (No corn, potatoes or carrots). By the way, I did tell my doctor that I was going to try Keto. We agreed that I would have a wide range blood test so we knew what the levels were. Then I agreed to have another one in a couple of months. I admit that I have not yet done the second blood test yet but I will report back when I get it done in 2 weeks. So...what happened? Well first off, it was easy. I did miss a few sweet things but it was not difficult because I was literally never hungry. I went hardcore and did not allow myself any empty carbs for about 2 weeks. I started loosing a bit of weight and I still had enough energy to get through the day. About 2 weeks in I woke up one day and felt like crap. I had got to the stage where I got the Keto flu. I expected this as many people describe experiencing the same thing. What I did was mix up some egg yokes with some coconut oil, tumeric and salt and pepper, eat it and wait. Literally a half hour later I was nearly back to feeling fine. Again...just what I did and not a recommendation. When I reached this point, I knew I had reached a state of keytosis where my body was burning fat for energy. Most keto knowledgeable people, including many famous doctors and surgeons, recommend cycling in and out of keytosis. The reason is that your body has now learned how to burn fat so it now burns both sugar and fat. At that point I did not have to eat mainly good fat (olive oil, coconut oil and MCT oil which is a coconut oil with the least desirable fat taken out). I could mix things up a bit and have the occasional potato, bit of rice or other carb rich things. I admit that I mainly stayed away from the carbs so I didn't change my diet too much out of fear of failure. I really wanted this to work! So...I actually didn't weigh myself until very late in the process because I didn't have a scale. I went and bought a good one and when I got home I jumped on it and got the result. I was seeing obvious reductions of my gut all through the process and people were continually telling me how much weight I had lost so I was not totally surprised by my new weight. I had set my target at getting from 222lbs to 185lbs. I did not expect to be anywhere close to my target yet but when I jumped onto the scale I was amazed to see that I was down to 187.5 already after just over 2 months. The very next day I weighed myself again in the morning and it was exactly 185lbs. I had reached my goal and I could hardly believe it! It was so easy! I feel great now. I have hugely more energy and I am not carrying all that extra weight on my joints. A bonus is I have not had any of my buddies ask me when my baby was due, like had happened a couple of times before. My gut is nearly gone but now I have a lot of loose flab on my sides. I am now starting a few exercises to tighten up the muscles on my gut and chest. Surprisingly, I did not exercise at all during this process. The most energetic thing I did was play golf about once a week. I admit that this is not a good thing but nevertheless it is what I did. Now I need and want to start building more muscle. Having the energy now, I even feel like exercising! I am sure I have forgotten a few things and I really wish I had kept some daily notes on what I ate and how I felt. I do recommend that you do keep notes if you try a keto diet. Bottom line is this change from mainly sugar to mainly good fat works. I am taking a trip to Canada shortly and I am going to get another blood test to check the results. I expect that my good and bad fat readings will be excellent along with my triglicerides and other important levels. I will post again after I have the results and reviewed them with my doctor. Frankly I am stunned by how easy this all was and very upset that I had to figure this out myself, no thanks to doctors and government guidelines. There is a heap of information on the internet and I suggest that you do your own research.

bodyCan you see it? It is right over there. It flows past all of us. It is beautiful and clear. It looks like water but it is not made of water, it is made up of happiness, love, good health, ecstasy, success and riches. It flows to everywhere and anywhere you want or need to go. Some people see a barrier between them and the stream but it is not really there. It’s an imaginary barrier that you can walk straight through. Walk towards the stream and look into it. It is beautiful and clear. Walk into the stream and feel it flow around you. Face upstream and see where you have already been. Now face downstream and see that it goes where you want to go. Feel the stream wrap itself around you. The stream is made of love, health, happiness, ecstasy, success and riches. You can breathe this stream. Open you mouth and breathe it in. Feel the stream become part of you. Lay back and float with it. It takes you where you need to go. It takes you where you want to go. It is effortless. Everything you need is in the stream. You are not the stream yet it is part of you. It is there for all of us. Can you see it?

bodyHi, I am new on Steem and from what I see it has real potential! I am looking for like minded people to collaborate with me on ideas for building passive income. I am also very interested in our changing work market due to Ai. I am not sure what the end game will be but I have several ideas. Please contact me if this interests you or you feel as many do that you are behind the 8 ball.
