titleHurricane Willa
bodySpent a week in Puerto Vallarta and it rained daily. I believe we had 1.5 days of sunshine. When Willa hit, we were assured that we were safe and only lots of rain and high ocean swells would follow. We were lucky as there was lots of rain but we were very safe. We did find out that another couple had the military evacuate and close their resort for 2 days for safety reasons. I honestly feel that Mexico is ahead of our North America disaster safety implementations. Would I live in Mexico, absolutely as everyone rallies to help one another and the peace and tranquility I felt there was wonderful to say the least. Can't wait to go back.

bodyRestructuring a company, stream-lining, call it what you wish. Has slavery been re-invented? Don't you just love it when suddenly your boss says you job has been eliminated but do not worry you are now doing this instead, which is a huge headache, you did not sign up or authorize it but are given a job without an increase. As well, surprise job that has been eliminated is really still YOURS and you are now doing 2 jobs, going crazy and the great boss is emailing you constantly. Perhaps boss should put their fingers to the keyboard and help. If they are walking around cracking the whip, then who is doing their job.. Too many bosses and not enough staff!! Sounds familiar? Well, here is what you must do..GET THE HECK OUT FAST!!! Once you are gone..leave them the best job review ever *****.

titleAbandoning Pets
bodyI guess I am appalled at people who adopt pets only to leave them behind in a park or an empty home. My question is, would you do that to your baby or child? I think fur babies are at our mercies. What is the mentality here or lack of. News bulletin flashed a goose was beaten to death in a park in our area. A video tape on the news had a film of it. What the ..where are the people to stop these abusing activities and not film them. Are you going to get an academy award? I am so shocked and upset at humanity of late. A friend called enquiring if we could take a cat as they were moving to NEW YORK and could not take it. They said they were going to drop it off at a park and hope it would fend for itself. How is this poor adult cat going to look after itself. Is there a food bowl and a water bowl available waiting at a tree for him or her? I wanted to say..take a rifle it shoot it as that is exactly what you are availing this poor fur baby to. Where are our kindness gone to and mercy. We are not humans any more but worse than the poor animals in the wild. I applaud the few that show humanity and kindness. Please pass this kindness as it is now a treasure.

I wanted to say..take a rifle it shoot it as that is exactly what you are availing this poor fur baby to. Where are our kindness gone to and mercy. We are not humans any more but worse than the poor animals in the wild. I applaud the few that show humanity and kindness. Please pass this kindness as it is now a treasure.",

titleCell phone traffic
bodyWe now have added not only car traffic but cell phone traffic to watch out for “dangerous” walking and talking a/o texting, whichever comes first to our woes. I am now dodging cars on the road and pedestrians in love with their phones. I have had numerous hits and misses with said pedestrians staring down at their phone and walking in a drunken fashion oblivious to their surroundings. Worst offenders are the ones that bring their phones and use them on their dinner dates with loved ones and friends. I find it appalling that no one stops to say hello or engage in conversations like the good old days.

bodySo you are unique and stand out in a crowd or a room. Along the way, you have been told in order to fit in you must dress and abide by rules. My question is..whose? You were told if you are over 50 you must dress the part. I guess wear brown and blacks and chop your hair off if you are a woman. Now that you have done that, who are you pleasing and taking a vote. You look in the mirror and hate the the look. I say let's walk on the wild side. What is your wish and what will make you happy. It takes G-U-T-S to be unique and different. The world frowns on the unique and different. I say, do what pleases you and what makes you stand out whether it is your hair, clothing or the way you talk and walk. Fashion is make believe and I say throw it away. Take what looks good on you and makes you feel VAVOOM and walk on the wild side with it. I love it when I see people who adopt their own style and sometimes they do use a piece of the fashion or style current but make it fabulous. I admire any one whether they are young or old or skinny or not but have a flair that is distinctly their own. There will be no arrests if you adopt a style that is fun, feel good and you love it. ADOPT IT AND FEEL THE MAGIC OF YOU.

titleLAS VEGAS - for the RICH not the MIDDLE CLASS - WHAT HAPPENED TO VEGAS!!!
bodyThe good..the bad..the ugly side of LAS VEGAS my opinion and sis. We just got back from a 4 day vacation from Las Vegas and have lots to share. Our story begun on July 6th our departure by Canada Air to Las Vegas and it landed early approximately 11:40AM at Terminal 1 but forgot to tell us that our luggage was dispatched to Terminal 3. By the time we found Terminal 3 our luggage was in Security mode and we were tired, hot and not happy. Not all of us know that we are supposed to pick up our luggage at Terminal 3 and we were told find elevator on side of building and press Ground Zero (come again..Ground Zero???!!!), go outside and grab a shuttle bus going to Terminal 3. Next was how to we get to Mirage (our booked hotel). Buy shuttle bus ticket round trip $20. Let me mention that CDN dollar sucks (we are losing 35-41 cents to US dollar). Folks, we are now in the Mirage Lobby check-in which means hidden costs, RESORT FEES of $41.95 EACH DAY and $400 deposit for the bar and snacks. OMG..really. We had already prepaid our flight and hotel so we thought. Wait, I now have to add the 4 days of $41.95 but we said we are NOT depositing $400 as we WILL NOT OPEN THE BAR, which by the way is secured by an electronic pin # which you receive once you pay $400. We ended up paying extra resort fees and $100 for extras. Our room was on the 10th floor and nothing special. It was clean but our next day room service proved to be late, we were exhausted from our cab rides and 117 degree weather and running around when the maid showed up to do our room. We told her we preferred our rooms done at 9AM and asked for clean towels and had her empty our trash bins and waved her away. Drinks we noted were cheap at a happy hour from 2PM TO 4PM or something like that near the lobby, otherwise they were AFFORDOABLE FOR THE RICH $18 a glass of wine..WHAT!!!! We soon found out that we were enjoying great coffee and an egg white sandwich for breki at MCDONALDS across the street. Highly recommended. What happened to the days of great entertainers 40 years ago and breki for $2.99. Be assured you are gonna be broke. CVS was were we shopped for liquor and snacks.. I found great ice cream for $2.49 or less and was happy. We ate at the sushi bar at the Mirage and it was very expensive to what we pay for 6 rolls of tuna rolls and saki. The service was great but the price not so.. Sis and I found the waitresses nasty at some of the restaurants and at the Noodle House at the Harrah's the waiter told sis go get your own drink at the bar (2 days prior a waitress there brought her wine)...he was mean..so guess what I left him a mean 50 cents tip. HA to you buddy!! We took a cab to the RIO as they have a great dim sum with carts and highly recommended. Cabs we took cost us more than we wanted to spend. Now we wanted to gamble..really..what was left of our monies..a few bucks. I ended up with a wow factor of $12 extra with Casino Royale. I walked away and went to the Mirage and plugged in $5 as I thought the heck ..hotels want us to gamble..make it worthwhile like in the good old days. I ended up winning $100 and nabbed it and went upstairs and gave sis her lost $20 and added $15 to make her happy. As well, tipped the maid and bough breakfast for us. How sad as slots do not pay like they did before and I heard one woman get excited over $7 win. COME ON..really! My best experience in Customer Service was at Saks at the Fashion Desert Mall on the strip. I ended up purchasing perfume and a fabby body moisture cream ONLY to have it taken away by US Customs as I neglected to check on the size and they were not willing to play nice. I lost out on $140 US so that is $200 CDN. The pool at the Mirage had free water..woweee!!! Am I going back to Vegas ..NO!!!! well maybe a YES when I win the million dollar lottery as shows and other things are EXPENSIVE ..UNLESS you are a MILLIONAIRE.. and families with kids should stick to Disneyland!! MY EXPERIENCE as we needed $100 a day just for food and a drink.

titleHow to survive working for a micro managed company
bodyHow does one deal with the daily grind of a global company that puts dollars ahead of its people and its their families is not an easy journey to endure. The level of stress and aches and pains of sitting at a desk keeping with the timelines of each task takes its toll. My day begins with Salesforce which assigns numbered cases to each mail that arrives or is tasked to the ques for each department my team is in charge on a rotational basis with other implemented tasks and timesheets. Our team has shrunk substantially due to new systems being integrated and implemented but at the end of the day, we still need extra bodies to keep up the pace of meeting deadlines quickly and efficiently. Is it any wonder I ended up in emergency and now with a few health issues to combat and continue living and breathing. What frightens me is not me as I am ending my earthly journey in spite of the doctor I saw who said, you most certainly don't look 64. My concern is for the generation that is in their 20s and 30s who will not be living a healthy life due to the crazy systems and stress that are upon them. Stress is a killer and liquor is not the answer, anti depression pills are not either or any sort of drug use. I end up listening to great music, watching HGTV, kissing kitty and reading, as well as listening to zen music. Soon we will be replaced by robots and I am afraid that like the movies that are sci-fi, they actually will destroy mankind in the end. The faster technology speeds up, the faster humanity ends. I pray and hope I am WRONG.

titleSeeing today the busy side of ER (emergency room(s))...
bodyIt began with unbearable stomach pains which went on for hours at work. Finally, I got up, grabbed my coat and purse and told my manager that I was in excruciating pain and going to admit myself to ER downtown. When I got there I waited as there were 4 busy ladies admitting patients. Finally, my turn came and I proceeded to give my ID and tell my story. I was told to sit down and wait in the small area. A few minutes later, my name got called and I had my vitals read by a machine, as I already had my ID bracelet placed on my arm and another plastic one stating my allergy in RED plastic. I was then told to go around the corner into the waiting room which was crowded at 11:30AM. My name got called and I had a machine hooked up and give a reading, then out I went and had my blood sample taken. Somewhere, after another 30 minutes or more, a male nurse said he was going to take my vitals AGAIN. Asked what was ailing me and said I needed to give a urine sample. Three hours went by in this busy ER with Code blue announcement and trauma patients arriving. Finally my name got called and I was led to a young ER doctor who was very pleasant and went through my ailments which when he pressed on my tummy I was helping. He said that my urine test showed no bladder infections but he suggested a cat scan so off I went to a waiting area to get prodded and IV tube inserted. The cat scan was simple but had a few more steps in it plus I was given pain killers before my scan. Another wait ensued and now it was getting to be 5 hours in there. I asked the doctor when he would get my results as I was anxious and did not want to miss my last train to my city. He came by with paperwork and said cat scan showed everything including kidneys all operating fine. He had another test but that one was going to come at a later date. I run out of there as now it was crazily busy. I have to thank ER and the hard working wonderful doctors, nurses and staff that see horrific things and calmly operate in such circumstances with dirty individuals as well as simple people like myself who treat everyone with kindness and quick aid. This ER hospital has me wowed and I am hugely grateful for the care they give each person.

titleKitty Tobias to the rescue...
bodyOne night I was woken up by my kitty Tobias whom I rescued from a shelter. He is a big black 23.8 oz cat. His enormous growth is due to the fact that he was fixed at age 4 and that is more healthy than fixing cats too early. Tobias was growling and hissing and went to my bedroom window angry and in attack mode. I listened as it was windy out and heard someone with heavy boots on my 4th storey balcony walking around and tapping on my window. I was frightened and went into the living room to wake my sister up to tell her we had an intruder on the balcony. She did not hear as she had music playing in the background. Sis grabbed the phone and called 9-1-1, who in turn wanted to know who alerted us to the noise. Sis told 9-1-1 that it was our rescue kitty growling like a dog. Needless to say, whomever it was, made it down fast and the police never did catch him but I feel safe knowing that I have a great guard cat, alert to all noises around me.

titleMemories of working in the 1970s
bodyWe have come a long way in technology and working for a living. I remember my job interviews as there were lots of them and many offers. I laugh as I finished school and joined a company at $400 a month salary. I had offers after of $500 and $550. This company was a small actuarial one and the people very friendly and it was run by an elderly gentleman. I joined the team as a receptionist, a timesheet keeper and helped with typing. This job would eventually have me learning Xerox 850 and Xerox 860 word processing. I remember typing on an electric typewriter and having carbon paper between extra copies for filing. When a mistake was made you painted over delicately and then correct each carbon copy as well. What a task! You learnt to be accurate fairly quickly. It was a step forward when word processors arrived as that made life much easier but for some the week training at the Xerox Company lengthy and for some a little difficult. As well, lots of people smoked in the office and now we know the health risks that we all were exposed to , second hand smoke kills. I loved my hour lunches and two fifteen minute coffee breaks and going out regularly for lunches with friends. These days are gone, we find ourselves missing our breaks and eating at our desks. What went wrong...the value of the dollar rules firstly, which has hurt the way we used to do business and enjoy going to work.

titleDiets..do they work!!!
bodySeveral years ago I wanted to lose 15 pounds. I joined Dr. Bernstein Clinic here in Vancouver, BC. I might add it was not a cheap adventure by any means. I spent a few hundred dollars and then stayed on completing a maintenance plan. Dr. B diet had me shopping for brand names and food wise calories. Not only did I shop what was encompassed in this diet and list but had to write everything I put into my mouth daily including water consumption. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I came in to get weighed and interviewed as to my food digestion I consumed. I was given a shot and that went into my tummy to burn fat. As well, I was taking vitamins to supplement my low calorie intake. I was told no exercise because the diet was tiring to the body. I must say within a few weeks I dropped my ideal pounds and more. I did the maintenance and 2 years later went back to do same. I am happy to report I kept my weight off with smart eating choices and my exercise is lots of walking. I have the occasional cheat days. Dr. B does work but you also have to commit to its regiment and expensive price.

bodyAre you a frenzied shopper..buy! buy! buy! That was me. Sometimes it was more from a challenge on a bid on Ebay. My 13 second rule worked all the time and finally I realized that I was wasting my money, my time, and the fact that the item when it did arrive, did not fit me. Thus my sister became the recipient of my buying sprees, or we ended taking lots of clothing and shoes to the country we visited thus being, Cuba, Mexico and so forth. It finally dawned on me that I had a problem, when the novelty of the shopping wore its novelty and my credit card statement showed my stupidity as well as a closet stuffed with clothing with tags on and most of them I did not wear as I repeatedly wore the several clothing that I love best. My rule is now forget fashion, create your own and do not be a slave to TV ads, magazines, and a world that says you deserve it as they flash the expensive shoes, bag, clothing and for men...electronics and expensive cars. I am avoiding magazines, malls, stores, and the fact that being a slave to shopping brings no value to life.

titleNews..world news..daily news
bodyI honestly do not watch TV except for HGTV. I cannot watch the news as all of it is negative and I never see a positive except just recently with the ROYAL WEDDING of Harry and Meghan. Since I have stopped watching all the blood and gory news around the world I feel like I am in a much happier zone in spite of my commute and daily stress at work. I have to say that for me, watching news, contributed to being depressed and having nightmares. Not everyone is affected like myself. If there is something important my friends will let me know or I can google it at a later time.

titleQuantum Healing Hypnosis Technique
bodyHave you heard of Delores Cannon. If so, she has written many books about controversial subjects and does QHHT healing and training. I decided to book a healer in my town with Marilyn Dyke. Below is what this technique is all about: QHHT® and Healing Once the Subconscious (SC) has been contacted during a QHHT® session, the QHHT® Practitioner asks it to identify and explain the cause behind any problem, and then asks the SC if it is permissible and possible to heal the condition. If the SC agrees, healing is immediate, without discomfort, medication or surgery. In many cases, once the SC reveals the source of the ailment or psychological problem, a release occurs in the subject’s body and mind, and the patient is freed form their condition. Many of Dolores Cannon’s thousands of clients and subjects were healed in this seemingly miraculous manner and wrote to her to over the years to thank her. That is why she began teaching QHHT® in 2002, to share it with others so that they could continue the practice and in turn help as many people as possible. In 2013, her Level 1 QHHT® Class became available online to learn anywhere and at any time. In all cases, before healing can occur, an individual must want to be cured. The healing also cannot interfere with the lessons of their present life or the contracts they made before incarnating. Our souls are eternal and we come to Earth to grow and learn lessons through individual experiences. An example of a conflict in healing could be the Subconscious not agreeing to restore the sight of a blind person if that was one of the lessons they agreed to learn before incarnating in their present life. The Subconscious also adheres to a literal approach regarding healing. If a subject is experiencing a condition that is the result of abuse or lack of care for their body, and the person has taken no action to correct this and has no desire to change, the Subconscious is aware. Its logic will dictate that there is no point in healing the condition if the subject is just going to resume abusing the body once it is healed. Following are examples of the extraordinary results Dolores Cannon and her QHHT® Practitioners alike have experienced with clients and subjects during their sessions: •Cancer – various types at various stages cleared •Cartilage – reconstruction between joints •HIV – cleared and eradicated •Heart – healed with no surgery required •Liver – fully functional regeneration and restoration •Kidney – fully functional regeneration and restoration •Wounds – regeneration with no scarring •Migraines –root causes explained and removed •Vision – 20/20 eyesight restored with no need corrective vision •Diabetes – causes explained and cleared •Intestines – conditions cleared •Back – middle and lower area problems cleared •Neck/Shoulder – pain identified and causes cleared •Lungs – problems identified and cleared •Skin – problems identified and cleared Everything is possible with Dolores Cannon’s proven method of hypnosis: QHHT®. https://www.qhhtofficial.com/members/marilyn-dyke/

titleDangerous depression
bodyHave you ever experienced the spiral of black depression. It may hit people worse than others. This morning on my long train ride with my train buddy, we discussed this subject and the enormous impact it plays in peoples lives. We are prescribed dangerous pharmaceuticals mixed with alcohol to numb pain and sorrow, only to deal with a circle of more uncontrolled events and pain. In some instances, the medicine does control and helps you get back on track but what happens if it does not. Years and years of hell, for some, ends up in suicide. It is horrific for family or friend to find the body and deal with the guilt of WHY did I not do something. My train friend shared a story of a young woman dealing with this till her late 20s in the Netherlands. She asked the doctors to end her life legally. It went to court and with a lot of deliberation as to the fact that she was never going to be cured, her family and the Courts agreed to end her life mutual and consented by all parties involved. She did not want her family to find her body and deal with the horror of it. This young woman put a lot of thought into why she wanted to end her life. I believe that some of us will strongly disagree or agree based on our ride with depression.

titleFragile Egos
bodyWe all have fragile egos ..sometimes they get in a heck of the way, so to speak. Egos can and are accompanied by many petty things including jealousy, envy, and the question, why do they get away with so many things and life is so unfair. If we can partly get rid of our ego(s) and, or manage them, we sure can come up on top of things. After years of living and experiencing and be the recipient of many petty mean-ness or jealousy thrown my way, I have learnt that titles in life are meaningless but kindness and heart is worth its weight in gold. I catch myself, and stop myself from whining, complaining to my boss and learning to embrace the task so to speak. Explaining my errors or myself is pointless, as that is my ego lashing out, I embrace when I do something that I am proud of. I do not believe in gossip and I am the last person to know all the whisperings as I DO NOT WANT PARTICIPATE OR ADD TO GOSSIP. The person under attack is not there to defend himself or herself, which is unfair. Here is one meaning of EGO:  your idea or opinion of yourself, especially your feeling of your own importance and ability: That man has such an enormous ego - I've never known anyone so full of themselves! I'm glad she got the job - she needed something to boost/bolster her ego (= give her confidence). Ego can go a long distance, good or bad.

titleElvis Presley..sigh (say WHO)
bodyI was a huge fan of Elvis and in the 1970s we were 21 and 19 and headed for Las Vegas to see him in concert. We were staying at the famous Las Vegas Hilton where he performed. We were nearing our departure when we found out that Elvis was not going to be there and instead we had Tom Jones tickets. Talk about a letdown. ..Sis and I travel everywhere together and have had some exciting and incredible times. One of those was our weekend at the then Washington Plaza, downtown Seattle. We use to go and treat ourselves to a nice hotel and shopping when we were young. I remember that Elvis was performing that weekend and I heard that he used to stay at this same hotel. I went to ask the front desk if he was staying there, the woman replied, I cannot divulge that information. We walked away and were told not to go in the partitioned area in the back. I looked at sis and said, OMG he is staying here she basically said it (lol). We walked around to the part we were not supposed to go. I looked up at the back door and this gorgeous pilot came in dressed in baby blue uniform, hat and all, jet black hair and incredible blue eyes, tall and gorgeous. As he passed me he gave me this beautiful smile. Later on we walked around in the lobby again and passed a foliage with a bar and I heard, Hey Elvis, how do you like those girls, asked a male voice. Elvis answered, not bad, not bad at all and laughed that famous laugh. I said, sis did you hear that, that is Elvis in there but were shy and his comment was about us two (lol). .AND YES, that was him in that baby blue uniform using a disguise. All I can say, I wish there were more men that looked and smiled like him.

I looked at sis and said, OMG he is staying here she basically said it (lol). \n\nWe walked around to the part we were not supposed to go. I looked up at the back door and this gorgeous pilot came in dressed in baby blue uniform, hat and all, jet black hair and incredible blue eyes, tall and gorgeous. As he passed me he gave me this beautiful smile. \n\nLater on we walked around in the lobby again and passed a foliage with a bar and I heard, Hey Elvis, how do you like those girls, asked a male voice. Elvis answered, not bad, not bad at all and laughed that famous laugh. I said, sis did you hear that, that is Elvis in there but were shy and his comment was about us two (lol). .AND YES, that was him in that baby blue uniform using a disguise. \n\nAll I can say, I wish there were more men that looked and smiled like him.",

bodyI have a feeling that this summer will bring out the hats for the ladies. I have 2 straw pretty ones that make me feel very stylish when I put them on with a nice summer dress and sandals. What shocks me is the sloppiness of some young women and inappropriate attire for work and sometimes even casual. Why would you bring attention to parts of the body that are just not pretty to look at. Short shorts on overweight ladies look, well.....let us not go there. As well low cut tops with no support for the girls. Tight clothing on any woman, whether she be skinny or overweight just look like a stuffed sausage and not appealing. It is better to go a size up than a tight size down. As well, the ugly sloppy buns are outlawed on men and women, my thought, why not just leave it in a pretty bun or a braid or even a side pony with a nice ribbon for a change. I see the make-up on but the hair... It is fun to look presentable and put together and It does not have to be over done. I am loving the dresses and pretty sandals and aiming to go back to being a lady. I am challenging myself and no one else.

titleWhat is it like to forget your cell phone
bodyI had a chuckle as Monday we were meeting a friend for lunch when I left my phone at home still charging. Sis said OMG I forgot my phone. What if Sue phones us. I laughed, and said no problem as she never answers her phone or texts anyone. I reminder her that we grew up in an era where there was no phones, public booths and the introduction of technology. Sue knew where to meet us and I had no qualms whatsoever. In fact, it was awesome not to be bothered with a phone. I told sis, this is a test to see if we have withdrawals. We made it not having a phone for a few hours and did not miss anything out of the ordinary. I must say, I am still laughing as all went well.

titleWhat is the life of a senior like....
bodyI am a young 64 slim woman and my best friend is my sister at a young 62. We are seen around our town. My day begins at 4:10 AM getting ready for work. I still work downtown Vancouver which is a 55 minute commute by Westcoast Express a 3 tier train extremely comfy and my imagination soars and I call it the ORIENT EXRESS (lol). I feed my kitty Tobias and nab my coffee and get ready. I catch the 5:44 first train out and the first train back home arriving at the condo around 10 to 5 PM. I end up feeding kitty first and then making our lunches for next day and sis is in charge of the dinners when she arrives on the 3rd train, approximately an hour later. Once we eat, and now the days are bright, we go for a walk around town, and sometimes end up at a drinking hole for a cool one or a vino. Our week days are busy but we try to make them fun. I end up reading a book and watching HGTV. I am inspired to change my life and so is sis by relocating us all to Mexico in the next 6 months being our goal. This weekend was a long weekend and we spent it walking, doing errands and entertaining some friends. We were drinking champagne and I did enjoy a light beer. We spent our evenings sitting on our balcony with a glass of champagne (champagne and caviar dreams are real). We have cars but rather walk to the library and get those steps in. I encourage everyone to do the same. Park your car as gas is high and walk if possible a little a day as that makes all the difference in mobility and strength, never mind the exercise. :)

titleWatching Royal Wedding
bodyI have to say that I am not much into royalty and did not get up early to watch this one although in the end I did recap some of the wedding of Harry and Meghan. The one that I did stay up and watched was Princess Dianna. I became her avid fan and followed her life and death. I disliked the way she was treated and to this day feel she met an untimely death. However, her sons I like and my all time favorite is Harry. I fell for Harry when I watched a program and he was holding an African sick infant. He was doing the work that his mother cherished and loved. This wedding was the best ever and I shocked myself in crying and holding tissues. It was fantastic to see the world come together and cheer and love this couple who look to be actually in true love. The guests, George Clooney and his wife, the Beckham`s, Fergie, her daughters and so forth. The women`s hats were a peacock of colors and some were beautiful while others were not so lovely. This wedding captured old and new traditions that were beautiful, happy and amazing. In the end, this couple won my heart and blessings to them both.

bodyI noticed that laugher is an energy and it boosts and uplifts. Positive thoughts are saying I like...I love versus I hate this thing, I don`t want, I don`t like is so draining on yourself and I find when I say or think that, guess what my day is ending up as being. My day turns out to be stressful, difficult and hard. I wonder why. When I say I am going to have a MAGICAL day, and wish my family same in an uplifting way we both have a great day. We all need happy thoughts especially in today`s world. Best trick is if you had a bad day, then do this, at night when you are in bed, go through that entire day that was awful and tell yourself and imagine it the way you wished it had gone. Erase the bad and replace with the day you wanted it to be. You are shaping your future and days of magic.

titleNORTH AMERICANS ARE FAT..WHY?????
bodyWhy when we get to past 40's we blame menopause for our weight and men blame their wives..lol. REALLY..??? I want everyone to do their homework. Please look at the 70's and 80's. I graduated in 1974 and there was only one (1) fat kid in my school. You ask why. I will get there. Now there is one skinny kid. I blame our food. What are they putting in there that is killing us and getting us all fat and unhealthy. I ate all the things that are eating now ..so here is the ANSWER. Read the labels as there is stuff in there that would blow up the city never mind our bodies and minds. We seriously have to research and let those evil companies know that we are unto them and they better change or we will have them go BANKRUPT. I now leave reviews all over the place as this is my way to letting that company or restaurant or whatever, know that I am serious about what they are doing and letting everyone know and I rate them. Please do so as well, this will eliminate the bad from the good and let us live healthy and happy.

bodyI am nearing 65 next April. We have gone backwards and not forward. WHAT is going on? Work is now lean..what is lean? I honestly think it is means, MEAN. We no longer have hour lunches but half an hour. No longer do we have coffee and smoke breaks. I remember working 8 hours and having 1 hour lunch and mandatory 2 fifteen minute breaks. What happened? We used to go for Friday lunches at wonderful places and actually have a drink and some 2 and we were fine. NOT ANY MORE. No one is allowed that luxury. Slavery is now in place and what we thought we abolished is really MICO MANGED and tracks us with our computers and management. WHAT THE H..ll has happened to the good old days? We are getting rid of employees and replacing them with out sourced work from INDIA and the Philippines. Only thing is that eventually the realization is that customers are not happy and left behind. LEAN is not the answer. I feel sorry for the future. We had it so beautiful until NOW. I am sitting at my desk, stressed, staring and not blinking my eyes, no breaks, I arrive home EXHAUSTED, UNHAPPY and now thinking NORTH AMERICA is HELL. I want to move to a happy country and that means 3RD WORLD as they are human beings and not ROBOTS like we have become. I wish we could get rid of COMPUTERS and barter with each other and take time to have fun. This wold is not FUN any more..give me the good old days and good old movies to remember ..and give me old people to chat with.

titleShould I or should I not relocate to a warm destination..
bodyI am at the age when I want to retire and move somewhere ideally warm. I am on the rainy West coast of British Columbia. After some deliberation with sis, we are seriously deciding to sell and buy abroad, namely Nayarit, Mexico. Some homework is in order and we are going back in October to check some real estate. As well, taking some Spanish will benefit us as well. I do not see a leisure life here as our taxes our extremely high as is the cost of living. Unless we want to split a radish, a green onion, and a slice of tomato, living here on a pension is not ideal at all. Moving to New Brunswick is affordable but who wants a brutal winter when one is going to need a walker eventually. Our condo here is near the tent people. Some are homeless, some are addicts and some are criminals. We have had our buildings broken into, below our green belt and balcony we have caught two of them doing drugs. My taxes are high and theirs, they pay no taxes, and I heard, a lawyer is representing them. They get arrested and guess what, our laws are protecting them, not me. Our medical, ambulance picks them up, and chances are, when my turn comes, guess what, I will have to wait, and probably, not make it. Do I feel safe in Mexico, absolutely more so, than in my own back yard. Am I willing to try another culture, ABSOLUTELY. I came from Europe, ended up here, and now want to end up somewhere warm and affordable. Open the box of chocolates and see what flavor awaits us.

bodyFriends come and go but true friendships are ones that surprise us when life events don't. I have come to the conclusion that what is important is how we react to the ones that betray us. Sometimes, we are trusting and when that trust is broken, how we deal with that betrayal is our strength. I have been sickened by things that have happened and friends that really are ones that sell us to the devil. When we can pick ourselves up and realize what can I learn from this...and when the answer is, I will not react and do same to someone else is when the applause and standing ovation is earned. You are the star. Broken friendships may sadden us but the ones that stick by us will show up, and they are the people that we can thank heaven for being there, when others are gone.

bodyWho would guess that my town would have me addicted to vintage shopping. I can honestly recommend visiting vintage and, or second hand stores in your area. We have decorated our condo with paintings, incredible lamps and a fantastic red chandelier that we later found selling for 10 times more for what we paid. Fun part is that our home looks unique and happy. Our next stop were clothing stores which had new footwear, bags and clothing amongst used ones in excellent condition. Once upon a time, I would have vetoed owning second hand clothing, but not any more. I enjoy adding fun pieces to my existing wardrobe including jewellery. My next stop will be in shops in other towns, as we have found a gold mine including wine glasses, Christmas decorations that brought back childhood memories. I encourage you to visit a few stores near you and be adventuresome.

bodyParasailing looked like a fun and exciting MUST DO in Nayarit, Mexico. My friend paid 1000 pesos and up she went as sis snapped photos of her. I was struggling with the "should I, or should I not" try this sport. I decided no thanks, maybe next time. I enjoyed my daily walks on the beach and the two massages I paid for and had on the beach. The resort RIU Vallarta had an exciting array of buffets, bars, restaurants and entertainers. This resort caters to everyone, singles, couples, families and children. We ended up having breakfast and two lunches and a dinner or dinners. Lunch we partook at a snack bar laden with a huge selection of food, and this snack bar was outside and had a bar as well. Every day at noon we ended up at the snack bar feasting on an array of foods, hot or cold and desserts out of this world. Then at 2:00 pm, we headed to the huge buffet which had an indoor and outdoor area. There was food for every picky and fussy eater. Our room had two beds that sis and I shared. I nabbed the KING SIZE BED (easily 4 people could have slept in that bed). Unhappily sis got the double bed, but seeing I was older and taller and it was my birthday which I repeatedly told her and suggested we take turns, she opted to sleep in the smaller bed. We met people from United States, England, Mexico, there were vacationers from Poland. We loved the relaxing and sun tanning we did. One afternoon, we grabbed a taxi and went into the city for shopping and a drink. We are planning to return back.

titleMexican CATS
bodyOur vacation was very relaxing until the three of us gals vacationing together went for a bite to eat at the snack bar at the RIU Vallarta. We noticed 3 small cats looking for scraps of food from a generous vacationer. Two were gorgeous Siamese kitties with blue eyes and the other one was a black skin and bones kitty with green eyes. I took a huge liking to him as he looked frail and all three had sad eyes. Sis took off running to get to the buffet and loaded a plate full of fish, chicken and other things. We put a bunch of food on the floor near us and they ate hungrily non-stop. Next few days we noticed a fourth kitty, black like his sibling but in better shape. We took great care of them for the duration of our stay and noticed another couple feeding them as well. Having a fur baby myself, at home, attended by a sitter and fed and loved unconditionally, my heart and soul cried for these mangy but friendly fur kitties whose survival dependent on caring and loving people visiting the resort.

titleVacation...yey finally Mexico here we come!!!
bodyIf you are like us, desperately in need of sunshine and warmth, then a vacation is heaven. We live in a very wet and rainy terrain. It is Spring, but seriously, where? Sunshine has been limited and I am suffering from exhaustion, being down and sad for no apparent reason but the lack of VITAMIN D (the sun rays). We are 3 days to go and have packed everything but the last minute items. Kitty Tobias has met his sitter (who has 6 cats at home)..yey. He went to her right away instead of hiding, making me seriously pleased and happy. We went through his routine, food, toys, litter box, food, snacks. He is good to enjoy some time away from his crazy owner, me and sis. Our plane, if on time, should leave Vancouver Airport in the morning and get us to Nayarit, around 2:30 pm. We booked a dinner at the Iguana Restaurant & Bar (previously home was owned by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. I am in need of rest, sun, some massages, good tequila, great food and my accompanying friends and new ones to make. ..Will post more from our adventure..:)

titleWhy are we driving and drinking and killing innocent people walking home from work?
bodyWhy are we in a hurry? Why do we cut each other off dangerously, then when we attempt to warn the driver by laying on the horn, the aggressor fingers us or tries to runs off the road? What happened on Thursday In my town is another act of horror. This act deals with a young woman, who worked in an animal hospital and beloved by many. She was walking home from work when she was apparently on the sidewalk and mowed down by a truck (drunk driver), who callously left her to die like she was road kill. Her boyfriend became frantic when she did not show up at the designated time and he was looking after her young child. He went out to look for her, and sadly, it was him who found his girlfriend dead on the sidewalk. I cannot imagine his horror and what he is dealing with. This young woman was not a slim woman, thus there is huge damage to his truck, and soon he will have to answer to why and how this all happened, so sadly and needlessly. My guess, he may have thought he hit something and run..in fear. As a walker and driver, I have almost been killed myself and also have to watch my speed, looking and driving defensively. As well, I make sure I leave early and if I don't get there in time, I have to take the responsibility of my actions or the fact that traffic was slow due to unforeseen incident.

titleIn love with our phones....thru my eyes
bodyI remember an era of no phones but phone booths. Now every one carries a phone. The first one I owned was the huge 5 lbs one (lol). Now we are a society plagued by obsession of cell phone ownership. The turnaround on these phones is speedy and expensive. Our phones are on vibrate. As soon as it hums, we grab it, regardless of its urgency. No one walks straight and smiling and enjoying life or acknowledging each other. We are hunched over the phones, stooped and bumping into each other in our haste and waste to answer its message. Sadly, we are slaves of technology and each and one of us is guilty. The biggest sin is seeing couples, in love with their phones instead of engrossed in each other in romantic settings, like restaurants, vacations and family life. I have seen gorgeous gals walking and a guy on his phone trying a dating site. Had he looked up, his gal has just walked up, and he lost out. I have seen strollers and babies ignored as mothers are more in love with their phone then their baby and missing its gurgle and its joy in life and observing it. I have actually put my phone away and made my sibling angry as to why I did not answer a text..who cares, it is not important. I feel we are losing each other in interacting with each other face to face. It is much easier to vent on our phones, end relationships with a quick angry text. I miss the good old days, of no phones or emails, just the regular old fashioned ones.
