Highly acclaimed alternative films such as Horns, What if and Swiss Army Man that he plays are a fine attempt by Radcliffe to erase the boy wizard image . His latest venture this year is the film Guns Akimbo .</p>\n\n<p>Guns Akimbo is a film by young director Jason Lei Howden that pairs two young stars Daniel Radcliffe and Samara Weaving in a stylish action filmfull of gunfire, gore and harsh curses. Guns Akimbo will air a sneak preview starting February 29, 2020 and broadcast regularly March 2, 2020.</p>\n\n<p>The life of Miles (Daniel Radcliffe), a vegetarian game programmer and pacifist who likes to prank trolls on social media changes completely when he deals with the organization that makes the killing game, Skimz . The Skimz leader who came directly to Miles&#39; house decided that Miles had to pay for his actions by becoming a participant in the game with two pistols bolted in both hands without being able to be removed.</p>\n\n<p>Miles, who just wakes up from anesthesia, panics absurdly seeing two pistols stuck in his hand and has to accept the fact that he is given 24 hours to fight to the death against Nix (Samara Weaving), the mad killer of the defending champion in the game. Trying to avoid Nix, one by one the closest people to Miles are in danger of being killed if Miles doesn&#39;t fight back. There is no other way, Miles must fight Nix for the safety of himself and the people he loves.</p>\n\n<p>Review<br />\nThe rise of the digital industry, including video games and online games, has inspired many creative figures to make it into films. One of them is the figure of Jason Lei Howden (Deathgasm) who directed and wrote the Guns Akimbo script . This quirky filmmaker whose previous film, Deathgasm is categorized as an absurd, eccentric film by combining action, horror, musical and comedy, again shows his eccentric sessions through the film Guns Akimbo .</p>\n\n<p>Opening the film through a car chase scene between Nix and its main target, the direct hit film introduces an online game brand filled with real-life killings, Skimz. Cool action with creative cinematography style and brutal shoot-out choreography colors the first minutes of the film as Miles&#39;s narrative introduces his world in a satirical style.</p>\n\n<p>Had slowed down when introducing Miles&#39;s character with his work and his pranks on annoying trolls or bullies in cyberspace, in fact it did not reduce the fun of the film because it was made in an attractive exposition style. Unfortunately the use of cinematography that is too trying to be different, by turning the camera, the rough editing makes a little nauseous. Fortunately this takes place in the first half of the film only.</p>\n\n<p><br />\nAfterward, when Miles starts to act to avoid Nix&#39;s chase, trying to find help until the technical climax of the film becomes more friendly. No more exaggerated camera work experiments , jumpy editing and replaced by solid plot scrolls containing concise dialogues full of hilarious pop culture references and exciting action scenes.</p>\n\n<p>Howden and the production team know very well using their skills by making various action scenes that are not repetitive, ridiculous and cool to distinguish them from similar films, such as Hardcore Henry , Gamer , Crank, etc. An important piece of advice is to forget all logic and hope of a good script in seeing a film like this one. A moment when Miles was in a police car even seemed to make fun of the standard of script writing made the film unpredictable. Writers who have reviewed various films have a hard time guessing which way this film is moving.</p>\n\n<p>The special effects team, both practical and visual effects together with the stunt man team and action choreographers, are the ones who most deserve more credit in the 95-minute film. Together with the artistic and make-up team, they were able to present crazy action film shows that looked real and believable even though they were far from logical. The music arrangement team, which is fronted by Enis Rotthoff (Look Who&#39;s Back), also attracted enough attention with the techno music whose composition sounded coherent with the soundtrack of the cover lines of &#39;80s songs that colored the film.</p>\n\n<p>Although not entirely successful, the efforts of cinematographer Stefan Ciupek (Hex) with editorial duo Luke Haigh (Hunt For The Wilderpeople, Turbo Kid) and Zaz Montana (The Manny, Forwards Ever) deserve thumbs up in providing a different cinematic experience for viewers through their creativity. .</p>\n\n<p>Actively, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter series, Now You See Me 2) excels in a role that requires high physical and emotional action. Samara Weaving (The Babysitter, Ready or Not) is no less cool. Weaving proved herself as a talented young actress who is predicted to be a future actress for genre films. The author is looking forward to Weaving&#39;s acting outside of genre films, such as in dramas or comedies.</p>\n\n<p>Ned Dennehy (Tyrannosaur, Mandy) as the antagonist of the leader of Skimz succeeds in giving an annoying and evil character, even though it sometimes feels over the top , and no less impressive, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Mumbai Hotel) who stole the show as a character Nova, a beautiful celebrity. Miles&#39; ex-girlfriend.</p>\n\n<p>Guns Akimbo is a typical low-budget independent film with a like-minded, segmented style . With the adult rating pinned on this film plus director Jason Lei Howden &#39;spersonal problemsthat are widely reported in the media, this film is predicted to have difficulty reaching audiences in Hollywood. It&#39;s very unfortunate, even though this film is a type of film that is very exciting to watch in a movie theater in a crowd.</p>\n\n<p>Final Conclusion<br />\nHigh tempo, full of madness, eccentric, hilarious and brutal without mercy, the film Guns Akimbo succeeds in giving fun without further ado through its 95 minutes of duration.
