At the moment, the quotes of the cryptocurrency are moving near the middle border of the Bollinger Bands indicator bars. A test of the level of 8800.20 is expected, from which one should expect an attempt to continue the fall and further development of a downward trend with a target near the level of 6200.50. The suspension has sparked fears that the exchange has been hacked, though Binance, responding to such comments on Twitter, has strongly pushed back against the claim. According to the most recent statement from Binance, the exchange is expected to resume trading at 4 a.m. UTC on Friday. "We will allow a 30-minute window where users can cancel open orders prior to trading being opened," the exchange wrote. "We will continue to update every two hours until the upgrade is complete." | title | Electroneum Update |
| body | Electroneum Update Lets review some of the awesome stuff that has happened over the last few weeks in case you've missed any of it (take a look at our revamped website at http://electroneum.com for more details and a timeline). Mobile Industry Adoption It was always my plan to get to large numbers of users and create the first cryptocurrency with mass adoption - and mass usage. The mobile network operators have welcomed us in a way that I could only ever have dreamed of, and just a few short weeks after we started seeking some strategic partnerships in the mobile industry, we have secured signed agreements with companies that would like to promote Electroneum to over 100m users! We are now in negotiation with partnerships to take this number to over 500m users! The mobile industry literally LOVES what Electroneum is doing because not only are we bringing a digital payment solution to the developing world, where there are many hundreds of millions of people without a bank account (don't forget the android app is now in 20 languages!), but we are also giving the users a little Electroneum every month, with a real world value. By introducing a small amount of cryptocurrency to a large number of people we are kickstarting the real world adoption of a cryptocurrency payment solution. The mobile operators will accept ETN, so there will always be somewhere to spend it, but are confident that entrepreneurial spirit will grow up around ETN and once our PayPal™ style vendor software is finished (which will allow the easy integration of ETN acceptance) we expect to see significant adoption in both the developed and less developed nations. GSMA Membership As a brand new and exciting part of the mobile industry fintech, we have become the first cryptocurrency in history to be welcomed as a member of the GSMA. This is a significant development in the corporate reach and appeal of Electroneum. Mobile World Congress Attendance As we'd like to make a splash in the mobile world, we've secured an exhibition stand at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. MWC is the largest gathering in the world for the mobile industry. I've been invited to participate as a panel member in one of the conferences, where I will, of course, be metaphorically shouting about the virtues of cryptocurrency. This is a HUGE event and is attended by everybody of importance in the mobile space, including all the CEO's of of companies we are seeking strategic alliances with. I have many meetings lined up already, and remember that Dr Chris Gorman OBE (yep, he's been honoured by the Queen of England) is on the Electroneum Board now and he has 20 years of mobile industry experience and is well known. He is spending the full week of the show in and out of meetings, ensuring Electroneum is the first cryptocurrency anyone in the mobile industry thinks of, when they seek a digital payment solution in the developing world. Mobile Electroneum Miner - nearly live... Our mobile miner has been tested by 10's of thousands of community beta testers. I'd like to say a giant THANK YOU to those people who have taken their time to help us get the product ready for millions of users. I have some great news for those beta testers... The original plan was to "reset the clock" at the end of the beta testing and start all miners at zero, but we feel that anyone who has taken the time to help us should have at least a small reward, and so we will pay out the ETN that has been mined by our betas! Thank you betas! The first payout round will be AFTER the full launch of the android miner, which we are aiming to get live for the MWC event (26th Feb). Larger Cryptocurrency Exchange Listings HitBTC (a top 6 global exchange) has agreed to list Electroneum and again, we are aiming to have that in place before MWC if we can. We also have another top 6 global exchange in the last stages of negotiation. It would be nice if we could get that live for MWC too, but I can't promise anything! We have a number of other exchanges outside of the top 10 that are about to list us, and it's worth remembering that as we show our user number growing, there will be many more of the top exchanges eager to list us. Tech Stuff We still have a few things to sort out with our transactional system before it's ready for huge scale but we've implemented loads of new code that has made things run considerably smoother. We are working to update the system to give feedback to users around the blockchain. Most users expect things to happen instantly, when in reality the payment instruction has to go to a worker, that has to open the wallet, sync with the blockchain, accept the instruction, make the payment and then wait for confirmations. By feeding back lots more data to the end user to explain the process and where they ARE in the process, we hope to make the system far more reflective of what is actually happening in the background. It should cut our number of support tickets considerably too. Staff We've taken on some new staff who have already started and have many more serving out their notice periods. They'll be joining the team as soon as they finish their employment elsewhere. We've got some AWESOME new coders and we've taken on a project manager from a very prestigious brand and another from a media company you'll have all heard of. They are helping expand the team and bring corporate process and structure to everything we do. A few stats… I think it's worth noting that we have over 800,000 users now, nearly doubled from the end of our ICO, not bad, but you wait for that mobile miner to be live! We will get user numbers that even surprise us! We have over 100k+ of twitter followers and 125k+ of Facebook follows, but the most shocking number for us is that more than ONE BILLION US DOLLARS worth of Electroneum has been traded around the globe! We've only been live three months! Electroneum Price For those of you who keep an eye on the price of Electroneum you'll notice that whilst it has taken a hit like most cryptocurrencies, it has been really interesting to watch the levels of trade. When Electroneum was soaring in price the volume was high, $20m or $30m USD in a day was not unusual. If you take a look at the trade volumes now, you'll see they are very low in comparison. This is a great indicator (in my opinion) of the strength of the Electroneum project. For the most part, people that are involved have not dumped, but said "Hold on. Let's not forget that all those things that excite us about the project are nearly ready for launch. Lets wait and see if they really can be the first cryptocurrency that actually attains mass adoption, like they say they will.". I can truly say that we have never been closer to our goals than we are today. I'm always overwhelmed by the support of the Electroneum community, you've been incredible. Some of the videos are hilarious, interesting or informative, and many of the original supporters of Electroneum are still out there now making awesome video content every day. A quick search for "Electroneum" in YouTube.com will find you hundreds of hours of video footage about Electroneum. My sincere thanks to everyone who contributes to the success of the Electroneum project. By the way, if you've not met Sean Davis yet with his "Crypto for the people" channel you are missing out! ... https://www.youtube.com/user/DavisBootCamp I'd also like to thank all the supporters of the open source Electroneum project - my thanks goes out to the entire community who monitor our codebase and make contributions. All are most gratefully received. All the very best to you, Richard Ells Founder of Electroneum. PS - If you'd like to see the first in a video series of an interview I've done with a financial journalist, head over to our blog (http://electroneum.com/blog/) it's slightly embarrassing and I wave my arms around a lot, but it does get across the essence of what we are trying to achieve. There will be more of these out each week. |

"title": "Electroneum Update",
"body": "\n\nElectroneum Update\n\nLets review some of the awesome stuff that has happened over the last few weeks in case you've missed any of it (take a look at our revamped website at http://electroneum.com for more details and a timeline).\n\nMobile Industry Adoption\nIt was always my plan to get to large numbers of users and create the first cryptocurrency with mass adoption - and mass usage. The mobile network operators have welcomed us in a way that I could only ever have dreamed of, and just a few short weeks after we started seeking some strategic partnerships in the mobile industry, we have secured signed agreements with companies that would like to promote Electroneum to over 100m users! We are now in negotiation with partnerships to take this number to over 500m users!\n\nThe mobile industry literally LOVES what Electroneum is doing because not only are we bringing a digital payment solution to the developing world, where there are many hundreds of millions of people without a bank account (don't forget the android app is now in 20 languages!), but we are also giving the users a little Electroneum every month, with a real world value. By introducing a small amount of cryptocurrency to a large number of people we are kickstarting the real world adoption of a cryptocurrency payment solution. The mobile operators will accept ETN, so there will always be somewhere to spend it, but are confident that entrepreneurial spirit will grow up around ETN and once our PayPal™ style vendor software is finished (which will allow the easy integration of ETN acceptance) we expect to see significant adoption in both the developed and less developed nations.\n\nGSMA Membership \nAs a brand new and exciting part of the mobile industry fintech, we have become the first cryptocurrency in history to be welcomed as a member of the GSMA. This is a significant development in the corporate reach and appeal of Electroneum.\n\nMobile World Congress Attendance\nAs we'd like to make a splash in the mobile world, we've secured an exhibition stand at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. He is spending the full week of the show in and out of meetings, ensuring Electroneum is the first cryptocurrency anyone in the mobile industry thinks of, when they seek a digital payment solution in the developing world.\n\nMobile Electroneum Miner - nearly live...\nOur mobile miner has been tested by 10's of thousands of community beta testers. I'd like to say a giant THANK YOU to those people who have taken their time to help us get the product ready for millions of users. I have some great news for those beta testers... The original plan was to \"reset the clock\" at the end of the beta testing and start all miners at zero, but we feel that anyone who has taken the time to help us should have at least a small reward, and so we will pay out the ETN that has been mined by our betas! Thank you betas! The first payout round will be AFTER the full launch of the android miner, which we are aiming to get live for the MWC event (26th Feb).\n\nLarger Cryptocurrency Exchange Listings\nHitBTC (a top 6 global exchange) has agreed to list Electroneum and again, we are aiming to have that in place before MWC if we can. We also have another top 6 global exchange in the last stages of negotiation. It would be nice if we could get that live for MWC too, but I can't promise anything! We have a number of other exchanges outside of the top 10 that are about to list us, and it's worth remembering that as we show our user number growing, there will be many more of the top exchanges eager to list us.\n\nTech Stuff\nWe still have a few things to sort out with our transactional system before it's ready for huge scale but we've implemented loads of new code that has made things run considerably smoother.\nWe are working to update the system to give feedback to users around the blockchain. It should cut our number of support tickets considerably too.\n\nStaff\nWe've taken on some new staff who have already started and have many more serving out their notice periods. They'll be joining the team as soon as they finish their employment elsewhere. We've got some AWESOME new coders and we've taken on a project manager from a very prestigious brand and another from a media company you'll have all heard of. They are helping expand the team and bring corporate process and structure to everything we do.\n\nA few stats…\nI think it's worth noting that we have over 800,000 users now, nearly doubled from the end of our ICO, not bad, but you wait for that mobile miner to be live! We will get user numbers that even surprise us!\n\nWe have over 100k+ of twitter followers and 125k+ of Facebook follows, but the most shocking number for us is that more than ONE BILLION US DOLLARS worth of Electroneum has been traded around the globe! We've only been live three months!\n\nElectroneum Price\nFor those of you who keep an eye on the price of Electroneum you'll notice that whilst it has taken a hit like most cryptocurrencies, it has been really interesting to watch the levels of trade.\nWhen Electroneum was soaring in price the volume was high, $20m or $30m USD in a day was not unusual. If you take a look at the trade volumes now, you'll see they are very low in comparison. This is a great indicator (in my opinion) of the strength of the Electroneum project. For the most part, people that are involved have not dumped, but said \"Hold on. Let's not forget that all those things that excite us about the project are nearly ready for launch. Lets wait and see if they really can be the first cryptocurrency that actually attains mass adoption, like they say they will.\".\n\nI can truly say that we have never been closer to our goals than we are today.\n\nI'm always overwhelmed by the support of the Electroneum community, you've been incredible. Some of the videos are hilarious, interesting or informative, and many of the original supporters of Electroneum are still out there now making awesome video content every day.\n\nA quick search for \"Electroneum\" in YouTube.com will find you hundreds of hours of video footage about Electroneum. My sincere thanks to everyone who contributes to the success of the Electroneum project. By the way, if you've not met Sean Davis yet with his \"Crypto for the people\" channel you are missing out! ... https://www.youtube.com/user/DavisBootCamp\n\nI'd also like to thank all the supporters of the open source Electroneum project - my thanks goes out to the entire community who monitor our codebase and make contributions. All are most gratefully received.\n\nAll the very best to you,\n\nRichard Ells\nFounder of Electroneum.\n\nPS - If you'd like to see the first in a video series of an interview I've done with a financial journalist, head over to our blog (http://electroneum.com/blog/) it's slightly embarrassing and I wave my arms around a lot, but it does get across the essence of what we are trying to achieve. | body | Huge correction of btc.... There are a lot of reasons of fall of btc this time, like, cme contract expiry, USDT issue, A lot of banks crying, Many countries ban on crypto.... However, there is another truth....BTC always is the king of market....So have always the power to recover... As far my study, have been watching, charts, many videos, and online trade situation...It's clearly marked that no doubt btc going under huge price correction but the volume is increasing...That is representing that btc can bounce back towards going up soon... What I see....simply summarizing in just one line on the base of analysis of many of charts...I never like to make proxies.. Falling wedge with volume increase.....Which shows that BTC going to bounce upside........ "I expect rise after bottom on 5000-5500 USD" I can be wrong, Study the market and give your true opinion in comments about your search..... |

| title | Regulated, Government Issued Cryptos to Challenge Bitcoin in 2018 |
| body | Calls for cryptocurrency regulation were a resounding theme at the World Economic Forum in Davos last week.The world’s most prominent financial institutions remain wary of going all in on cryptocurrencies, amid fears of future regulation leading the market to tank. Governments around the world have signaled their ongoing or imminent intent to legislate and regulate cryptocurrencies around the world, and it seems the largest banking and financial firms are waiting for more clarity before they forge ahead with plans to enter the market. Countries like Russia are forging ahead with the creation of their own, government-issued cryptocurrency, which they can fully control. Others, like Venezuela, have been forced to do so to battle out-of-control inflation that has crippled its economy. Opposed to a decentralized and anonymous system, the creation of a cryptocurrency that governments can control is their only option to wrestle back some semblance of ‘control’ that has been handed to the everyday man using cryptocurrencies. Speaking to RT at the WEF in Davos, Universa CEO Alexander Borodich said governments are keen to issue their own virtual currencies that would be backed by commodities like oil. “From my perspective, they will offer state country-wide cryptocurrencies like Cryptorruble or crypto-barrel if they like to… back the oil they have or other natural resources.” He added that 2018 would see the emergence of these state-issued cryptocurrencies to challenge the dominance of Bitcoin and other popular virtual currencies. Nefarious uses still a concern Despite the best intentions of honest developers, exchanges and Blockchain engineers, there is a prevailing sentiment that the underworld still uses cryptocurrencies. It’s been a number of years since the closure of Silk Road and subsequent black markets, but heads of states are still citing concerns over the nefarious uses of virtual currencies. As quoted by the Independent, US treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin said there is a concerted effort being made to prevent cryptocurrencies being used for illicit trade. "My number-one focus on cryptocurrencies, whether that be digital currencies or Bitcoin or other things, is that we want to make sure that they're not used for illicit activities.” A major concern is also the well-being of financial markets and systems that have been shaken up by the massive adoption of Bitcoin and altcoins in the past 12 months. In the words of Mnuchin: "We encourage fintech and we encourage innovation, but we want to make sure all of our financial markets are safe. We want to make sure that the rest of the world -- and many of the (Group of) 20 countries are already starting on this -- have the same regulations.” IMF head Christine Lagarde also painted a harsh perception of cryptocurrencies. "The anonymity and lack of transparency and the way in which it conceals and protects money laundering and financing of terrorism is just unacceptable. It needs to be taken into account but then there will be innovations coming out of these movements.” Nevertheless, the cryptocurrency community has been bullish on social media, slamming the apathy swirling around at Davos this week. |

| body | Copied: As January closed, Bitcoin fell towards $9,000 (getting closer to $8,000 in the first days of February). It has been a particularly tough month and a half for Bitcoin if one considers that halfway through December the coin peaked at $20,000. The market has taken hit after hit in the days following its downward spiral from the aforementioned high, the only issue is that some of these catalyzing factors have been paper tigers or even worse, fake news. In a speculative market such as the Bitcoin one, which welcomed a massive influx of relatively clueless speculators in the hype-rush to $20,000, bad news is especially bad news and damaging to investor confidence. South Korean confusion Halfway through January, there was a bout of confusion that came out of South Korea, an important Bitcoin hub in the east, as the Ministry of Justice, which independently announced its plans of banning cryptocurrency trading. This sent panic across the markets, in a similar fashion as to when China announced it banning plans. However, it has since been cleared up by much higher authorities, and in fact, the sentiment out of South Korea has been pretty positive following this market scare. In fact, this move was even classed as insider trading as many fought back against the supposed planned FUD attack. Regardless of the clearing up, and the clouds parting over the Asian nation, the damage was still done. The markets managed to claw their way back somewhat, but there was soon more damaging news of questionable integrity to send the speculators fleeing. Old news In the US, the fear, uncertainty and doubt showed its face when it emerged that there was a subpoena out for Bitfinex and Tether. The former a major exchange and the latter a token issuer. This sent ripples of panic across the community as it again showed that the regulators who have been classed as enemy number one, where on their feet and clamping down. According to the report, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission was sending subpoenas to these two companies, which strangely, were not even US-based companies, pulling alternative questions about jurisdiction also to the fore. However, after the market took an 11 percent tumble at this news, it emerged that these subpoenas had already been issued, back in early December, according to Nathaniel Popper, a reporter from New York Times. Again, the effect of negative news was apparent, and its validity seemingly unimportant as the markets doubled for a reason that was not even relevant or related. Read it properly The last bout of misinformation that had its say on the markets came out of India where a simple case of misreading stirred even more panic. Mainstream media, rushing to get the news out, seemingly misinterpreted a government speech on regulation. The line in question, from finance minister Arun Jaitley, read: “The government does not recognize cryptocurrency as legal tender or coin and will take all measures to eliminate the use of these crypto assets in financing illegitimate activities or as part of the payments system.” However, this was then blown up into: “Arun Jaitley has just killed India’s cryptocurrency party,” by a Quartz’s article on the subject. The line in equation states that the regulators in India are aiming to eliminate the use of cryptocurrencies to fund illegal activities but avoids mentioning the full legality of digital currencies. The world needs good news There can be no doubting the power of persuasion and the extent that bad news can affect a market as speculative as Bitcoin’s. And, to this end, as more bad news, fake, real, old or late, piles on top of an already fragile confidence, the damage gets exaggerated. Many are hoping for one piece of positivity to right all the wrongs that have been leveled at the digital currency, and for the market to react accordingly. However, what that news could be remains a mystery. CNBC’s Ran Neuner Says Bitcoin Will End 2018 At $50,000 Ran Neuner, the host of CNBC’s show Cryptotrader and the 28th most influential Blockchain insider according to Richtopia, made a tweet Thursday, Feb. 1 claiming that Bitcoin will end 2018 at the price point of $50,000. The CNBC channel has been increasingly involved in cryptocurrency reporting over the past few months. On Jan. 8, the cable network aired a step-by-step tutorial on how to buy Ripple using the Poloniex exchange as a platform for the purchase. Host Brian Kelly demonstrated the entire process live on the channel. In December 2017, an issue of CNBC’s Fast Money mentioned Bitcoin Cash both on air and on its social media accounts. The show made a tweet with two charts that showed a decline in Bitcoin’s price and an increase in that of Bitcoin Cash, adding “Bitcoin Cash is here… deal with it!” @rogerkver aka Bitcoin Jesus joins us tomorrow to discuss the biggest change to the crypto world since time was invented! Must see TV.. #BitcoinCash is here... deal with it!! pic.twitter.com/k9kO30nwKF — CNBC's Fast Money (@CNBCFastMoney) December 20, 2017 The tweet was met with a mixed response from the cryptocurrency community, some users expressing their disagreement with the network’s message. shame on you for promoting this bitcoincash/bcash fake scam coin — Bitcoiner (#) (@CambodiaBitcoin) December 20, 2017 As Bitcoin reached a multi-month low on Friday, Neuner’s latest prediction has similarly resulted in a mixed reaction with one reply sarcastically highlighting the low probability of Bitcoin’s price hitting the exact mark of $50,000 on Dec. 31, 2018. Well, the odds of it being exactly 50.000$ at 23:59 on Dec 31st are actually very slim. — Maxcz (@ThurstonMax) February 2, 2018 Follow me on Steemit for more News, Updates... |

Read more in the THE TAKEAWAY below. OP TRENDS ON COINDESK Market mayhem After a months-long run-up that surely emboldened a few Lambo purchases and steak dinners, the prices of most cryptocurrencies tumbled in the first half of the week. But you probably know that. The important question is, why? We at CoinDesk humbly admit epistemic uncertainty, but editors Bailey Reutzel and Marc Hochstein identified a few plausible theories that would help explain the severity of the sell-off: anxiety over looming regulatory actions from South Korea, which had recently emerged as a trading hub; the triggering of stop-loss orders; and continued service disruptions at the major crypto exchanges, such as Kraken, which was down for several days for a systems upgrade that was supposed to take only a few hours. That last issue probably discouraged institutional investors who might otherwise have smelled buying opportunities. In their minds, "if that can happen, then this market's not ready for institutions," said Michael Graham, an analyst at Canaccord Genuity, an investment bank in New York. Onward and upward, though: the markets stabilized later in the week and began to show signs of recovery. Meanwhile, two milestones were reached: the first bitcoin futures on the Cboe expired and settled successfully, and the first blockchain ETFs launched on the NYSE and Nasdaq. And speaking of ETFs, the Securities and Exchange Commission outlined the reasons for its reluctance to approve bitcoin-related ones, which could be read as a positive, since it may provide hints on how to get the nod. Never-ending blockchain Those three words aptly describe the ever-increasing data storage requirements of the two biggest cryptocurrencies: bitcoin and ethereum. But the developers of both projects are working on the problem in an effort to allow the respective networks to scale while preserving decentralization. As CoinDesk's Alyssa Hertig reported this week, Bitcoin Core developer Jonas Schnelli has made it his mission to enable Average Joe users to run full nodes from their homes. This is important because it means individuals can validate the transaction history themselves rather than take a third party's word for it that the miners aren't engaging in mischief. Similarly, our colleague Rachel Rose O'Leary details how ethereum developers have been optimizing the software clients so they don't take so long to synchronize with the network or require so much storage space. You could say they're kicking the can down the road, but long-term solutions such as database "sharding" are still a ways off, so the tweaks perhaps buy some time for ethereum's "world computer" to keep hosting new tokens without consolidating into a handful of server farms. (Of course, some people would say ethereum lost its decentralization card two years ago when the dev team forked the network to bail out the DAO's bagholders, but that's a separate conversation...) In other scaling-related news, several bitcoin developers released a research paper on how Schnorr signatures might be applied to the blockchain, a measure that could save disk space in addition to enhancing security. Say hello to my lil' friend Keep an eye on Ledger, the maker of pocket-size hardware wallets. This week the company raised $75 million of venture funding in a series B round, which it will invest in R&D and scaling the business. In addition to its flagship handheld consumer wallet, Ledger is working on an institutional-grade crypto storage product for banks and hedge funds called the Ledger Vault. But perhaps most importantly, Radar Relay, a decentralized exchange startup, has added support for the Ledger wallet. This means that users will be able to trade ether and ERC-20 tokens with one another straight from their storage devices via the 0x protocol, no middleman required. Announcements like this one offer a glint of hope for a truly peer-to-peer future, notwithstanding the scaling challenges and centralizing forces mentioned above. |

| title | World’s Fourth Largest Bank MUFG To Launch Own Cryptocurrency In 2018 |
| body | Great News, Hope it will give some fresh air to crypto market. Japan’s Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), the fourth largest bank in the world, will launch its own digital currency MUFG coin, local news publication Mainichi.jp reported Sunday, Jan. 14. MUFG is the largest financial company in Japan and is set to become the first Japanese bank to issue a virtual currency, Mainichi.jp reports. The bank had plans to develop a cryptocurrency as far back as 2016. According to Mainichi.jp, the launch date has now been finalized and is intended to take place in the FY 2018. Based on Blockchain technology, MUFG coin will allow users to conduct instant person-to-person transactions as well as shop with lower fees. MUFG stated the company will process all the transactions from its cryptocurrency’s network, claiming that such an approach will help improve the stability of the coin. The bank also plans to peg one MUFG coin to one Japanese yen in order to maintain people’s confidence in the new cryptocurrency. Another local company, the e-commerce giant DMM Group, launched its own 7-asset cryptocurrency exchange on Jan. 11, which highlights the growing level of Blockchain tech adoption in Japan. In contrast to the governments of neighboring China and South Korea, the Japanese government has adopted a more welcoming approach to regulating the cryptocurrency market, which has likely had a positive impact on the growth of the industry in the country. |

According to Mainichi.jp, the launch date has now been finalized and is intended to take place in the FY 2018.\n\nBased on Blockchain technology, MUFG coin will allow users to conduct instant person-to-person transactions as well as shop with lower fees.\n\nMUFG stated the company will process all the transactions from its cryptocurrency’s network, claiming that such an approach will help improve the stability of the coin.\n\nThe bank also plans to peg one MUFG coin to one Japanese yen in order to maintain people’s confidence in the new cryptocurrency.\n\nAnother local company, the e-commerce giant DMM Group, launched its own 7-asset cryptocurrency exchange on Jan. 11, which highlights the growing level of Blockchain tech adoption in Japan.\n\nIn contrast to the governments of neighboring China and South Korea, the Japanese government has adopted a more welcoming approach to regulating the cryptocurrency market, which has likely had a positive impact on the growth of the industry in the country.\n\n",

| body | Sadly posting this but fact is fact... Comment your opinion so we could all learn more from each other... Breaking: South Korean Regulator Suspected of Insider Cryptocurrency Trading When asked if there are such employees inside the agency, Heung-sik responded: "Yes." Choi Heung-sik, the head of the Financial Supervisory Service of South Korea, responded in the affirmative when asked if employees of the financial regulator had sold their cryptocurrency stocks just before the agency publicly proposed measures against the industry, which caused cryptocurrency prices to drop. When asked if there were such employees inside the agency, Heung-sik responded: “Yes.” The matter is now being investigated, according to Yonhap news. Hong Nam-ki, the Director of the Office of Coordination, said (translated from Korean): “The relationship between the inside and the outside of the company [is being] investigated by one or two civil servants as I know, and I would like to ask government officials to refrain from investing…There is a bar. ” At a meeting on the 28th of December, Heung-sik told journalists that he ‘bet’ that the Bitcoin bubble was on its way to bursting. This comment was made just before the country banned anonymous transactions. Since then, comments were made from within the government (from justice minister Park Sang-ki, to name names) indicating that the country is going to ban cryptocurrency trading entirely, which led to an outcry – according to the Korea Herald, protests were held and posters put up calling the Moon Jae-in government tyrants “for attempting to unilaterally shut down a booming market worth 300 trillion won (US$282 billion).” |
