Can you imagine paradise? In my more than ten years of traveling the world, I’ve visited some of the smallest and most isolated island nations on the planet (I’ve visited more Pacific islands than most people),  pero tal vez no haya un lugar más emocionante para planear una aventura de isla en isla como el Caribe. Getting around the islands is undoubtedly the most logistically challenging aspect of a Caribbean vacation, particularly in the Leeward Islands. Let’s take a look at what it takes to explore several islands in the Leeward Islands and the Lesser Antilles. The best base for island hopping Given the layout of the Leeward Islands, we recommend staying in St. Martin as your main base, from which you can visit about half of the main islands. To reach the rest of the Caribbean’s top destinations, you’ll need to take a series of short flights. If you’re starting your journey south and traveling from island to island heading north—from the Windward Islands to the Leeward Islands—or simply exploring that region, St. Vincent is an excellent starting point thanks to its newly opened Argyle International Airport, which offers good international flight connections. This could also be a great place for travelers looking to make connections on their way south, thanks to the good flight options.
